Jaystar swished his tail back and forth. "The warrior code states that no cat should tresspass another clan's territory" Jaystar murmered again, but then sighed. "I will give word if any of my warriors find your kit, I will not disobey the warrior code" His eyes were full of regret, but only because he didn't know what to do. It was his duty to uphold the warrior code, and letting two Beachclan warriors on his property might make the warriors think Aquaclan was weak and would take advantage. Jaystar strained his eyes and noticed his son, Thunderpaw and Swallowpaw in the patrol, which made things worse. Should he fight, or disobey the code?

((Thunderpaw ran back to camp and Swallowpaw is on the other side of the river with the other cats.))
"But we would'nt be trespassing!" Coppertail cried," We would be there with your permission. We wouldn't take any prey."
Coppertail was clearly distressed. They were wasting precious time. If Quailkit had managed to cross the river she could easily be half way to the AquaClan camp by now. She could get attacked by a badger or a fox. Maybe even a rogue. AquaClan is close to the twolegplace and the no-cats land. He looked to Icestar to see what she was thinking.

Tigerstripe sat down on her side of the river and glanced across at the BeachClan cats on the other bank. "If Jaystar allows us to patrol, then I should by all means be on it," she meowed coolly. "After all, Quailkit is my daughter." Her voice was dry at the same time and she appeared to be wincing slightly, as though the words were causing her pain.

Icestar let out a low growl in her throat. "I'm not leaving till this kit is found," she snarled. "The warrior code says nothing of not crossing borders when there is a missing kit, she's apart of Beachclan," she reminded him.
"Beachclan shows care for their clanmates, and I'll fight every life of mine just to find one." she snarled.
She sniffed the air. She picked up another sent. "She went this way," she meowed to her deputy. She started to walk.
Browntail and Redwind charged at Icestar. Icestar was ready for it. She jumped up, twisted around, and sat on the two cats. "Get off of me," Redwind hissed. "Only if you let me find my clanmate." Icestar hissed back.
Stormcloud almost fell of balance once she saw how fast his mate was moving. "Did anyone see Icestar attack those mouse-brained cats? Because I sure didn't" he meowed to Lightstream.

Icestar looked at Jaystar, her old friend. "You know that Morningstar did the same thing and lost two lifes against Burntstar, just to find Stormcloud here when he was a kit," she meowed. "You shouldn't be a mouse-brain and let us fight over this," she hissed. "But of course, I could sit on these two for a moon if there is no answer." she hissed.

Tigerstripe sighed. "I know a lost cause when I see one," she meowed before turning tail and beginning to slink in the direction of BeachClan camp. "We're driving ourselves to war over her. Quailkit is smart. If she's alive she'll turn up."
Rockfang got up and padded over to Jaystar. "Mouse-brains. They should have waited for a signal to attack. Although I personally that we should force them off our territory." She unsheathed her claws. "Maybe Tigerstripe's kit likes AquaClan better."

Icestar let out a hiss. "Everycat in Beachclan knows Tigerstripe raised a litter and her mate was Silentmask," she hissed. "And they were both loyal," she snarled.
"Rockfang? Are you going to do something? We have Icestar on us! Remember?" Browntail hissed. "I can't believe she was choosen to be deputy!" Redwind hissed quietly to Browntail.
"See! Truth. Aquaclan does have nothing but mouse-brained cats in the clan." Icestar retorted.

"Hold on. Seeing as Jaystar is here and that the leader's word is law, I need his permission first. Believe me, I'm going to attack the minute he says go. Mouse-brains," Rockfang meowed irritably, speaking the last two words under her breath. She then turned to Jaystar. "May we attack her? Please?"
Tigerstripe continued to pad off until she reached camp. Quietshadow turned around and Thunderpaw scampered out of his den and pounced on his mother. "Did they find her?" they asked in unison.
"No. They're getting into a skirmish with AquaClan as I speak. Rockfang and Jaystar are both there. Icestar isn't pleased." She frowned.
Quietshadow nodded. "She'll turn up. They always do...although it might not be in the way you expect."

Jaystar fumed. He lunged at Icestar and pinned her down. "Aquaclan, attack!" He changed his mind quickly and bit hard into Icestar's shoulder.

Icestar felt a small pain, then a lot of pain once his teeth sunk in. "And I thought you came in peace. I'm pretty sure I did," she hissed. She kicked her back paws up and tossed Jaystar into the river.
Browntail lunged at Coppertail. "So we meet again, fighting. I think we will never find a place that we won't fight, other than the gathering." he spat. Redwind charged to Coppertail. "Too bad we can't attack the other mouse-brains on the side of the river." Redwind hissed.
"Okay, Beachclan! Attack!" Stormcloud yowled.
He pounced into the river. Once his pelt was out, he didn't stop to shake the water off. He just went on attacking Rockfang. "I haven't seen you since we were apprentices back at that last gathering," he snarled. He dung his teeth into her shoulder. His claws dung into her flank.

Rockfang growled. "Since when were trespassers ever greeted with peace?" she demanded, aiming a kick at Stormcloud's chest. She was oblivious to the wounds on her shoulder and side; in fact, it was nothing compared to the injuries she recieved in the battle with BurntClan. The deputy lunged forward in an attempt to pin Stormcloud down.

Lightstream splashed back into the river, about to race back across, but stopped herself before doing so. I was given an order to cross back over... Should I ask Icestar first? Stromcloud had said to attack - but then again, he wasn't the Clan leader. Great. Now I'm confused... "Icestar!" She yelled across the river. "I should cross back over too, right?"

Jaystar kicked his legs as he struggled to stay above the water. His head bumped hard against a fallen log, and he went blank for a moment. He gasped for air, but swallowed the water instead. With one enormous leap, he jumped safely back into the battle. He shook his fur and hissed.

Icestar jumped back at Jaystar. The both dove into the water. She tossed and turned, gasping for air. "What a bad move to make," she whispered. "Yes!" she hissed at Lightstream. "Thunderpaw, go back to camp and get more cats!" she ordered.
She jumped back at Jaystar, forcing the tom under water. She stopped for a minute and stopped fighting. "Wait," she meowed. She remembered an image of Quailkit in her head.
Browntail kicked again at Coppertail. Redwind fell off balance and fell into the river. She was in a deeper end and stuggled to get up to the surface. "Help! Rockfang!" she meowed.

Jaystar struggled to hold his head above water, but gave up. His body went limp and his eyes were closing. "Icestar . . . please. . .no" he gasped and tried to breathe.

Icestar dove her head under the water. She was finally able to get ahold of his scuff. "I'm not letting you loose another life!" she meowed. Her head was able to reach air. She swam over to the shore and put Jaystar on it. She pushed her paws into his chest, forcing out air. "Your the father of Tigerstripe's kits," she meowed. "But you were too secretive to care about Beachclan and a missing kit," she whispered. She was mad. Very mad.

Jaystar looked up at Icestar pleadingly "I-I am" He coughed hard and huge amounts of water came up. "If you haven't noticed already, Larchkit looks exactly like me" He sputtered "I'm surprised you haven't found that out sooner"

"I think I'll go back anyways," Thunderpaw meowed, running back in the direction of the river. Quietshadow and Tigerstripe didn't say aything to stop him. He arrived just in time to hear Icestar's command. "Ugh. Just in time..." The apprentice scampered back.
"What now?" Tigerstripe asked wearily.
"Icestar wants reinforcements at the fight," he meowed. "Come on! I get to fight!"
She sighed and trotted after him. Quietshadow padded into his den to prepare a bundle of herbs before following them.
Rockfang left Stormcloud to lie on the ground and dove in the water, struggling against the current. "How does BeachClan do this?" She then paddled in Redwind's direction. "Okay...uh...now what?" she asked, looking over her shoulder. "Jaystar is drowning too! Why can't any of you swim?!" The deputy glanced urgently back and forth before yowling to Browntail, "HELP YOUR SISTER!" Rockfang then splashed over in Jaystar's direction. "What in the name of StarClan are you doing!?"
Thunderpaw eagerly charged the battle scene, raring to go despite the fact that he had not recieved any battle training yet. However, he did not know how to swim and was stuck on his side of the river. Tigerstripe arrived with a little more composure and easily swam to the other side, scrambling over to Stormcloud. "You all right?" she asked, glancing over at Jaystar. "Great StarClan...oh no..."
Quietshadow left the herbs at the riverbank crouched by the edge, ready to dive in if a cat needed any help. As medicine cat, he was allowed to overstep rivalries and help everyone.

"Butttt, I can't swim!" Browntail stampered. "Why can you swim but I can't?" he hissed. He dove into the water. Water splashing everywhere. He had no idea what he was doing. "Ugh, go figure," Stormcloud snapped. He jumped into water and grabbed Redwind's scuff. "What in the name in Starclan were you doing!" he hissed to her. Redwind coughed up water.
"Well! I was fighting you mouse-brained cats!" she hissed back.
Browntail paddled over to the shore. He gasped for air, scared out of his fur.

Jaystar panted and his eyes started closing. His breathing was getting heavier, and he was getting weaker by the second. His eyes pleaded Icestar not to kill him, for he had only three lives left. . .

Seeing Jaystar safely on BeachClan's side, Rockfang struggled out of the water and shook off before walking over toward Browntail and Redwind. "Sometimes the wetlands flood and I usually head down there to fish when they do. I've sort of taught myself how to pitifully swim. I'm not very good, though."
Tigerstripe noticed Jaystar on the opposite bank and perked her head up. I am so stupid. Quailkit knew that Jaystar was her father. She was on awful terms with Thunderpaw and wasn't very fond of her birth clan. So what if...
"Quailkit ran away to AquaClan!"

Lightstream struggled up the bank next to Tigerstripe, shaking herself off. "But what reason would she have to do that?" She meowed, blinking in confusion. "What's so great about them?" She cast a glare in the direction of the AquaClan patrol.

Coppertail wrestled with Browntail and Redwind. He smiled as he threw Redwind off and she landed with a splash in the river. He couldn't help but laugh when Browntail followed suit. Despite this, he couldn't let them dorwn and he waded in. "You can't swim?" he asked as he grabbed Redwind's scruff from Stormcloud.
"Redwind!" Owlspot sprinted towards the group, throwing his fish aside. He should've ran to help Jaystar but his main concern was for his mate. He brushed up alongside his brother and nudged Redwind onto semi-solid ground. "Thank-you Coppertail! Thank-you so much!" He licked his brother's ear before turning his attentions to Redwind.
"Is she your mate?" Coppertail asked, baffled.
Owlspot stared at Coppertail playfully. "Jeleous?"

Redwind coughed up a mouthfull of water. She smiled at Owlspot. "I'm so glad your here." she purred. "What happened. First, I was fighting this furball," she meowed playfully, "then I was gasping for air."
She leaned up to see everyone around her until she saw Jaystar. "Oh no," she meowed. "Browntail, go help Jaystar! You know he only has three lives!" she hissed to him.
Browntail nodded and swam, well atleast tried to, over to the shore. He looked down at his leader. "Come on," he meowed, "don't loose another life, this clan needs you."
"Rockfang, we might have to carry him across. "I'll do it, if it is needed." Icestar meowed.

Rockfang awkwardly paddled across to the BeachClan side. "That might help," she panted. "Obviously, most of AquaClan can't swim for our lives and I can't swim well enough to help Jaystar over for my life."
"I'll help," Tigerstripe offered sheepishly before glancing at Lightstream.
"You've heard the story of...oh...what's-her-face...Tawnypelt, right? Tigerstar's daughter? I forget most of it but I think it's terribly similar to this. I'm sure that Silentstep will know; sorry that I don't." She shrugged.
