Lightningpaw growled angrily, about to respond when Heronpaw thrust his hind legs into his stomach, knocking his breath away. His brother, though only an apprentice, had a lot of power. Next thing he knew their mother pulled Heronpaw away from his grasp and then he found himself pinned by Honeyfrost. He had just about regained his breath, glaring at his brother when he heard Maplepaw's voice. At this he looked down, slightly ashamed of letting himself get so angry at his brother's foolish words. He slipped out from beneath Honeyfrost's paw, getting to his feet as his breathing slowed, still not looking up to Maplepaw or Heronpaw as he remained silent beside Honeyfrost. "Yes Owlfoot." he said quietly and solemnly to the angry deputy.
(What a big foreshadowing to a big disagreement that they later will bring up again xD)

Orchidtail let Heronpaw go as soon as the apprentice stopped squirming and decided it would be better, and less painful, to just hang limply. His mother dropped him roughly and he quickly picked himself up and smoothed down his fur with a few licks. When he had finished he just sat there glaring at his paws, not making eye contact with anybody. Especially not to Lightningpaw or his rogue bred friends. Orchidtail roughly nudged him in the ribs with a firm paw. "Answer your deputy," she told him firmly, her voice stone cold. She was obviously fuming silentily and that was something Heronpaw feared. She was usually so sweet and comforting. "Yes Owlfoot," he mumbled.
Honeyfrost took a step back and brushed her side against Owlfoot's to comfort him. An awkward silence had fallen over the group and Owlfoot's anger had startled her. "Lightningpaw," she meowed, suddenly. "I had thought you would have more control than that. Heronpaw's fight was not yours and you should of known not to involve yourself." She looked over at Lichenpelt and saw the queen was still moping. She turned back to the apprentice and fixed him with a cold blue stare. "Now you've created more trouble for yourself."
Maplepaw stood still, too shocked to move. She was breathing heavily and she couldn't stop trembling. She had been to the battle against Burntstar and seen a warrior's ferousity but never had she seen two cats of the same Clan, and apprentices for that matter, attack each other.
Tussockwind, returning from dawn patrol, padded into camp and immediately noticed the tense atmosphere. In camp clearing everything seemed to have to chaos. Owlfoot's ears were flattened and he was glaring down at Heronpaw and Lightningpaw, the two newest apprentice. Orchidtail and Honeyfrost seemed both angry and tense, their pelts bristling. He had screeching and yowling from where he was marking the AquaClan border and had rushed back, thinking that the rogue's had returned. "What happened?!" Tussockwind cried loudly," I thought you were being attacked!"

Goldenpaw stared at her brother with a gaze. "I was only trying to talk, the first time I actually talk to you and you spit at me!" she snapped. "I'm reporting to Hawkstar. Oh, and by the way, good luck taking care of the elders!" she spat. Heronpaw was getting on her nerves, this whole thing. "Coming Littlepaw!" she purred. She started to open up to Littlepaw, she liked the way he treated her, other than the fact of her other denmates. "Orchardtail? Is father going to be mad?" she asked softly. She didn't like her father's angry voice, but she liked the fact that Heronpaw will most likely be punished.

Owlfoot took in a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His ears remained flattened, but his eyes softened. "Good. I don't liek seeing any of you fight," he said, smiling slightly. He jerked at Tussockwind's sudden yowl, turning to her, eyes wide. "Oh! I'm really sorry about that! These two were just causing a bit fo trouble is all!" he said, a chuckle in his voice, though it was obvious it was strained. He just wanted life to return to normal and if that meant he had to feign enthusiasm, so be it.

Lightningpaw flinched at Honeyfrost's words, keeping his eyes down. But at the last part, he grinded his teeth. Yeah, that's what he had heard before. Don't listen to Heronpaw, don't mess with Heronpaw....all the same. They didn't realize that sometimes what Heronpaw did or said affected him. He didn't want people to look at him as Heronpaw's brother or follower. He didn't think the same as his impulsive brother. He had just snapped this time, when Heronpaw had insulted his friends. "It wasn't right, he was being a stupid furball. He insulted our own clanmates and friends! Then he turned and blamed them, acting like a helpless kit. It was sickening!" he said, his anger rising again as he looked up to Heronpaw, his green flashing.

"We're fully aware of young Heronpaw's behaviour," Honeyfrost meowed, trying to keep her voice flat and calm. The least thing they needed was for her to snap at the apprentices and start another fight. "But I would of felt much better if you hadn't attacked him," she told Lightningpaw," Now we have to punish you too." She bent down and nudged the apprentice to his paws. "You should of clawed his ears off where nobody could of rescued him," she whispered. "Come on! Let's all see Hawkstar," she meowed louder, to cover her rather inappropiate comment.
"I cannot believe this," Orchidtail groaned. "I thought I had raised you to be well-mannered warriors not horrible, spoilt and completely mis-behaving kits. I hope your father doesn't have better things to be doing with his time."
Heronpaw snarled at Goldenpaw and spat at her. "Oh go sulk somewhere else." He immediately recieved a smack over the head with a sheathed paw. "Do not talk to your sister like that," Orchidtail growled. "Goldenpaw, don't wind up your brother," she added, sighing. "Hawkstar won't be angry with you, dear. Oh dear, Owlfoot. Do you still want to go training?"
Littlepaw was smiling to himself. "So, Goldenpaw. I guess it will just be you and me for training. Maplepaw will be too upset and I'm not sure about Woodpaw. This has been a rather productive day if I say so myself." He flicked his tail and peered through the entrance of Hawkstar's den. "Anyone there?" he called. He looked over his shoulder. "Probably not. I think he went on dawn patrol..."
Tussockwind nodded slowly, giving the group a concerned look. "I'm just going to go fetch my cache of prey. Don't kill each over when I'm gone."

Lightningpaw gritted his teeth, knowing Honeyfrost was right. But her quiet comment made his eyes widen as ears perk up. Did she actually just say that? He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, but she had already changed the subject. Looking to his brother, speaking that way to Goldenpaw as well made him seriously consider it. His eyes narrowed and he muttered under his breath. "He always depends on someone to bail him out. See if he can get out of this." With that, using his nimble speed he tackled his brother, both of them going rolling towards the entrance, snarling at each other. Lightningpaw got in a swipe to his Heronpaw's head and then, knowing his brother would probably try to get him back, he slipped away, backing up before disappearing out the entrance, knowing he would hear Heronpaw's harder pawsteps soon behind him. Heronpaw didn't like to be topped, especially in a battle of strength or fighting.

Maplepaw squealed and took a rapid step back. What was with him today? Usually he was so sweet and well mannered but now he was acting irrational.
Orchidtail snarled and dove for Lightningpaw but the apprentice was fast. He was already off his brother and backing away. "Stay put!" she yowled, glaring at the black and white tom. Her attention divided, Heronpaw bolted after his brother and away from the other warriors. Orchidtail gave a cry of anguish and ran after them.
Heronpaw's paws thudded against the hard ground. How dare Lightningpaw strike again? The stupid furball needed to learn his lesson before he got the both of them in more trouble. At least he had the sense to take them out of camp. He felt Orchidtail dive after them but he heard a scuffle and a squeal and her soft pawsteps had stopped. "Where are we going?" he called out. "Stop and fight!" Running was not his forte and if he was to fight Lightningpaw (not that he wanted too) he would have to preserve his energy.
Honeyfrost pulled back as Lightningpaw tackled Heronpaw and then ran for out of camp, his brother on his tail. She hadn't thought that he would listen to her advice and carry through immeaditely. Orchidtail dove for the grey tom and she made the purpose mistake of diving for him too, tumbling into the white she-cat. The queen squealed and wiggled away from her. She growled loudly and dug her claws into the ground. Honeyfrost made a show of attacking both frustrated and apologetic. "Ah! I- AH! Sorry. I just lept for him and you did and AH!" She tossed her head and began padding out of camp again.
"FURBALLS! We should just let them at it. They we need to sort their own problems out," Littlepaw called after Honeyfrost and his mother. Orchidtail looked back and fixed him with a peircing green gaze. "Littlepaw. Quiet. I want Hawkstar informed and a patrol out looking. Three cats only."

Lightningpaw glanced over his shoulder to see his brother behind, not close, but close enough. He also saw the collision between his mother and Orchidtail. Oh, they were going to be in SO much trouble. He heard Heronpaw's voice speak up, but he didn't know the answer so he stayed quiet. If he stayed and fought, they would both be caught and Heronpaw would probably beat him as always. And something in his mind just triggered the reaction to just run, not knowing where you're going. As the wind whipped through his fur, he felt a wave of emotions sweep over him. He felt bad for acting in such a way now. It was true, it wasn't his nature to be so bold and tempermental. It felt unnatural to him, yet he still felt those emotions running through his veins. Maplepaw seeing him act this way as well...that made him the unhappiest of all. He had started out being angry because of his brother's comments, to show he didn't feel that way and to defend his friends. What had it caused him? Nothing but trouble and seeming as quick to fight and anger like his brother. He looked to the ground as he slowed, then up to the sky that could barely be seen through the trees. 'Starclan......what's going on with me..? he sighed, stopping and knowing his brother would be soon along. As he caught his breath, he looked around. ......Where were they? This didn't look like Rainclan territory to him...

Goldenpaw looked at Littlepaw. "How can Hawkstar not be mad at them! Even though they are his kin and kits it doesn't mean he can get away with it again." she hissed. "I don't sulk! I just keep my mouth shut when I don't feel like talking!" she snarled loudly, hoping Heronpaw heard. "I want to learn to hunt," she meowed to her brother. "Atleast you're nice to me!" Her purred roared as she leaned onto him. "Why does Father never do anything, even when Heronpaw fights with a warrior!" she meowed quietly. "I guess he's too soft on him," she whispered.

Owlfoot yowled in frustration, narrowing his eyes. "Oh, StarClan, what is up with those two?" he whispered, padding off after them, avoiding the two tangled she-cats. "I'll go see which way they went. Orchidtail, could you go gather two more cats to follow?" he mewed, ducking through the entrance before she could answer. He opened his mouth and caught their scent easily enough. He turned and padded after them, annoyance buzzing in his chest.

Heronpaw slowed as he noticed the trees thinning and his anger faded. This was the end of RainClan territory. He could see the open hillside up ahead and when he sniffed the air, there it was, the smell of gorse and heather. He didn't recognise the scent as FrostClan, or any Clan for that matter. "We're - This is, I mean...we're in No Cat's Land!" he announced in awe when he caught up with his brother. This had to be the place he had heard the Elders speak of. Where else could they be?
Littlepaw laughed. "Hawkstar is a good father but at the moment he will have to act as a leader. Heronpaw and Lightningpaw have caused alot of trouble and are just being immature. They'll be stinking of mouse-bile for moons!" The white tom was enjoying himself. Finally his brothers would get their comeuppance and it would be wonderful.
"They're heading towards the border," Honeyfrost meowed, as she realised the direction of their scents. She glanced at Owlfoot, her stomach sinking. Hopefully, the two of them would be able to catch up with the apprentices before they got into anymore trouble.
"You know what?" Orchidtail spat angrily, her tail lashing as she paced outside of camp. "They're no worth sending a patrol after. I'll just have to trust them not to get themselves injured." The queen was absolutely fuming. Never had she imagined that her own children would display such a disregard for others.

Lightningpaw padded forward a bit, looking around in wonder. "No Cat's Land..." he murmured, his curious gaze scanning over everything. It was true, no clan scent except from the two of them. Wow...he had run longer than he thought. And now that he thought about it, his paws hurt like crazy. When he was running, he felt like he was the fastest cat alive, his paws light as a feather. Now....from both the fight and the running....he was so tired and sore! Looking to Heronpaw, he frowned. "We're going to be in big trouble, aren't we?"

Goldenpaw smiled at Littlepaw. "I hope so!" she purred. She new it would be one of the best days of her apprentice days. She could see it now, Littlepaw and herself, eating fat voles while Lightningpaw and Heronpaw were getting bossed around by the elders! "The elder's and queens will become fat once they hunt for only them and the kits. They probably will be on their paws, dawn to dusk." she purred. Goldenpaw was actually enjoying herself. "I'm having fun," she whispered. She licked Littlepaw's ear and smiled.

Owlfoot sighed, continueing his pace. "Luckily, they're not heading toward any of the other Clans," he murmured, staring ahead, perking his ears. "It would be bad if they tresspassed." He quickened his pace, knowing full well the dangers of beyond this certain border; rogues. Vicious, nasty rogues.

"No duties for us!" Littlepaw meowed excitedly. He flicked his tail over his sister's muzzle, tickling her nose. "We'll catch so much prey and we'll be much better warriors than Heronpaw!" He sighed happily, titlting his head. "I cannot wait until Hawkstar hears about this."
Heronpaw crouched down in the grass to rest. He was out of breathing from chasing Lightningpaw and his pelt was full of brambles and leaves. "We were already in trouble," he meowed in reply to his brother's question. He glanced around the unfamiliar territory noting the rocks and steep rockfaces. "You know," he meowed softly," We could turn back...but we would never know what's out here."
"I would rather they tresspassed," Honeyfrost grumbled. She widened her stride to match Owlfoot's and wished she had taken some poppyseeds from the medicine cat den before leaving. "We're no match if they run into those rogues from the Grove." Or anybody else for that matter she added silently.

(Hey Redcloud, don't find them too fast because we got something planned for them =D )
Lightningpaw sat down, his tail twitching anxiously. His ears flickered in his brother's direction but his gaze stayed on the unfamiliar land. "And we wouldn't have been in trouble if you hadn't opened your big mouth." he replied flatly. At Heronpaw's next comment, he nodded, a wistful look on his face. "We would never know...and I guess we couldn't get in anymore trouble...." he glanced over his shoulder, his eyes sparking with a hint of mischief. "You want to...?"
Hawkstar reached the camp entrance, seeing his mate pacing outside. She looked furious. Padding up to Orchidtail, Hawkstar dropped the fresh-kill he had caught. "Orchidtail, something wrong? You seem angrier than a badger." he commented, sitting down and watching her curiously.

Heronpaw tilted his head pretending to ponder the idea over. "Well, seeing as how my big mouth got us in trouble perhaps I shouldn't have suggested that...but oh, there could be all sorts of things out here and we should give Orchidtail some time to calm down...," he meowed. With that he nodded and lept to his feet. There was so much unexplored land around RainClan, they could easily expand their territory into the hills and the extra prey would be enough to support a larger amount of cats. The idea was tantalising.
"A badger is going to look like a kittypet when I get hold of those kits of ours," Orchidtail growled, forcing herself to sit down in front of her mate. "I woke up to Heronpaw and Lichenpelt fighting," she told him stiffly," By the sound of things he insulted her or something of the likes! Next thing I know, I'm pulling Heronpaw out of Lightningpaw's grasp while Honeyfrost pinned him down. The two of them looked like they were reading to shred each others pelts off."

Lightningpaw nodded, his eyes just as eager as his brothers. "Yes, she probably would kill us if we came back now..." he said quietly. Then he got to his paws, tail twitching back and forth. "Wel come on, you're not tired are you? Let's go see it for ourselves." he said enthusiasticly, nudging his brother's shoulder. Funny, they were just fighting a moment ago and now were exploring together.
Hawkstar frowned, not liking the sound of it. "Those two caused trouble? Heronpaw...but Lightningpaw as well? They will be punished." he said sternly, nodding as his eyebrows furrowed. "So where are they now?"

Heronpaw meerly hummed at Lightningpaw's comment on their mother. He felt a littel guilty about upsetting her but there's nothing he could do about that now. It was time for a new adventure, one that Littlepaw or Goldenpaw wouldn't ruin. He flicked his tail across his brother's muzzle and smiled. "Tired? No. Just a little out of breath but that won't stop me!" he exclaimed," I'm going to catch myself a plump mouse." He bounded ahead, leaping through the grasses and moving easily over the steep terrain. RainClan warriors were the most skilled when it came to moving through their thick, tangled territory. Other warriors would easily become lost or stuck but not them, so when it came to climbing up a hill only covered in grasses, they needn't break a sweat.
Orchidtail rolled her eyes. "Now you see where I'm coming from. Lightningpaw went absolutely mental, if I hadn't pulled Heronpaw away I'm sure they would of caused each other some serious damage." She shook her head, ashamed at her black and white son's behaviour. He was usually the most mature of the litter and often balanced out all their attitudes. "Lightningpaw had a second attempt at fighting Heronpaw. He ran off though and Heronpaw went after him when I was distracted," she explained, her voice edgy. "Honeyfrost and Owlfoot are out searching for them."
Honeyfrost slowed to match Owlfoot's pace. She knew his injuries must be bothering him for hers were as well. The wounds hadn't yet healed over and there was still an ache in her muscles. "Don't push yourself," she warned him softly," I don't want to have to drag you back to Swiftwind."

Lightningpaw grinned, bounding after his brother and matching his stride. These two had been on so many adventure together, without or with their siblings and some that no one else knew about. But being different as night and day, they did fight, such as they did in the camp. Yet, just as quickly they were back to watching each other's backs and exploring. Not to mention getting in trouble. "Bet I can catch something before you can!" he joked, dashing ahead of his brother to the right, his black tail the last to disappear through the tall grass.
Hawkstar's expression only grew more angry and stern. His two oldest sons, behaving in such a manner! It was a disgrace to him, the leader of the clan for his sons acting so out of control. "They ran off?" he repeated, getting to his feet. "Owlfoot and Honeyfrost still haven't fully healed, they shouldn't be pushing it for out two uncontrollable sons." he said, now his voice becoming more like an angry leader than father. "Go tell them to come back and I'll send out the daily patrol and see if they see them."
((Now if you want. =D ))

Heronpaw tilted his head and gave an expression which read simply not-going-to-happen. With the prospect of new land and rich prey, something he longed for in the middle of leaf-bare, Heronpaw had thrown aside his arguement with his brother. It was a petty squabble, a clash of beliefs, that could be dealt with later. At the moment he had higher prioties, hunting! "Doubt it!" he laughed," The only thing you'll catch is your own paws." He whirled to his right, chasing after Lightingpaw's quickly vanishing tail.
Rabbit. The wind carried the scent across the hill on a sea breeze. A large tom was sitting in the grass, his tail curled around his paws. He was an unusual looking creature, if there was any. His pelt was a dark brown, varying in places close to black. In other places it was lighter and flecked with ginger. Scars ran around his shoulders, a deeper gash on his neck. His shoulders were broad and his body muscular. Here was a cat you shouldn't mess with. Burntstar turned his head towards the scent, his thick tabby pelt parting to reveal a lighter creamier undercoat. He moved into a crouch, moving through the grasses carefully. Of course, his efforts were wasted as meows sliced the air. "Fox-dung," he spat, rising again. From his high point he could see two young cats running through the grass, away from the tree line. "Great," Burntstar drawled sarcastically," A bunch of tear-away RainClan apprentices. Just what I needed to make my life better." He sighed and padded down the slope to cut them off. Better he find them than another rogue.
Orchidtail's green eyes flashed angrily and she rose to her paws again. Her tail lashed at the air. At least Hawkstar was sharing her anger, and shame, at the whole ordeal. "Honeyfrost and Owlfoot just took off!" she cried, remembering their injuries. "I had completely forgotten. I was going to send out a patrol but it didn't seem worth it." "What patrol isn't worth it?" Tussockwind interrupted. The tom had just returned from gathering his prey and now found Orchidtail and Hawkstar looking like a pair of starved badgers. Two scrawny squirrels lay at his paws, his only catches from the dawn patrol.
((Thrown him in. Honeyfrost and Owlfoot should find him with the apprentices. Awkward stand-off between father and daughter. ))

Lightningpaw laughed as well, racing over the unfamiliar land, his feet turning on the bare land. He glanced over his shoulder once, just to check where his brother was. He was a few tail-lengths back. 'Too slow.' Lightningpaw thought smugly, his paws never slowing. As he turned to look back ahead of him, suddenly there was something blocking his path. His paws immedietely stopped and he skid into the cat, falling back on his butt. He blinked, somewhat in a daze, shaking his head to stop the forest was spinning. The other seemed to be hardly fazed by the incident. His green eyes looked up to the cat, blinking as he took in his size. Was he a rogue? Heronpaw was big, but this cat was way bigger. And there was no way they would be a match for him.
Hawkstar was about to speak when Tussockwind appeared. "Heronpaw and Lightningpaw seemed to have caused some trouble while we were away." he explained, keeping his anger in check in his voice. Tussockwind was fast, he surely could catch Lightningpaw. "Tussockwind, after you put your prey in the fresh-kill pile, would you mind going with Orchidtail after them? And when you see Owlspot and Honeyfrost, send them back to camp." he asked, looking to the young warrior.

Owlfoot stopped, taking in a deep breath as they reached the border. He began to survey the area before him, making sure to swivel his head to eaither side. He neede to take everything in. He opened his mouth to take in the scents of the area, Heronpaw and Lightningpaw still fresh in the air. He paused as another, fainter scent hit him, farther off. He couldn't tell what it was, but before he could do anything else, the wind shifted, sending teh scent away. He looked to Honeyfrost and shrugged, beginning to press cautiously into the unfamiliar territory.

Goldenpaw jumped to her paws. "Want to practice some fighting skills?" Her eyes glittered. She hasn't been out training at all since she had been a apprentice. Most of the time her mentor was doing his deputy duties and what not, spending time with Honeyfrost most of that time. "Have you been out training yet?" She shrugged. She wasn't very shy of her brother anymore, but now she was kind of shy asking Littlepaw a question.

Littlepaw nodded eagerly. He hated playfighting with his brothers as Heronpaw was larger, stronger and was very serious about the fight while Lightningpaw was just a skilled but he was sure the black and white tom was going easy on him. Typical. Littlepaaw gave a mrrow of laughter as his sister's next question. "Of course I haven't! Today's just our first day and already Heronpaw and Lightningpaw had ruined it."
Tussockwind blinked, stunned. "What? They were already fighting when I came back to camp the first time." He groaned loudly before picking up his prey and running back into camp. He was back in a flash, trotting slowly. "So they ran for it, huh?" he asked Orchidtail. The white queen didn't answer but instead started padding into the forest. "Be back soon, I hope," she called out to Hawkstar, looking over her shoulder.
Honeyfrost's nose twitched as the wind carried the apprentices' scents towards them. Like Owlfoot, she caught a small trace of another one before it faded away. That small teaser was enough to make her stomach flip. It was familiar but there wasn't enough to confirm what she thought. "We better hurry," she murmured. She took the lead and began weaving her way through the grass. Essentially, it was the same territory she had grown up on but there of course were a few differences.
Heronpaw grinned, the thrill of the chase coursing through his viens again. His paws thudded heavily on the hard soil and his developing muscles caried him easily over the bumpy terrain. Because of the long grass, he didn't see Lightningpaw sitting down and nor did he scent the rogue over the ocean breeze and heather, unlike under the trees in RainClan. He glanced up from the tangle of limbs at the large tom. He was regarding them with dark amber eyes framed in a dark brown tabby, ginger flecked face.
Burnstar simply sighed as Lightingpaw crashed into his thickset legs. Here was proof that young cats never looked where they were going. His other theory was confirmed as he wore the familiar scent of the the RainClan warriors. It was slightly reassuring. The black and white tom sat at his feet, looking up at him with the bright green eyes. He frowned slightly, finding a familiar face in the one below him. Hawkstar? The second tom came tumbling into the first and lay sprawled out across the ground. He was a plain grey and white tabby, his fur slightly longer and fluffier than one found on the usual warrior. He was built heavier than his slim companion but in the both of them Burntstar could see the prime markings of an excellent warrior. "You should watch where you are going," he meowed, nudging them to his feet with a black leather nose. "If you are running in grass you should use your head and paws to part the grass or place alot of attention of your nose and ears. That will help guide you. Or, you could grow bigger."

Lucky Lightningpaw that he was sitting down when his bigger brother bumped into him, or he would have been knocked off his feet again. He remained seated, glancing down to Heronpaw as he got up, then back to the other when he spoke. 'Or we just didn't expect to see you, standing here like a rock.' Lightningpaw thought, but didn't dare say outloud. He just nodded, then noticed how the older cat was looking at him with a frown. He cocked his head curiously, getting to his feet. "What are you looking at?" he said this with no rude or arrogant attitude about him. This cat just seemed to know something and he wanted to know what.
((Lol xD))
Hawkstar looked after them, nodding and getting to his feet. "Alright, be safe.
