Shore looked at Ralf and Maddie, her nervous expression turning to panic. She started walking off towards the trees where the noise was coming from. When she was tail-length away from the trees. Lifting her nose, she sniffed, trying to pick up the scent of what was making the noise. Nothing. She turned to Maddie and Ralf and mewled quietly, "I wonder what it is?"

"Get Back!" Maddie snarled. "You'll get caught," she hissed. Ralf jumped down from the tree and walked over to Shore. "Come on, before she gets more angry and the 'thing' comes to us instead of away!" he meowed, his voice full of panic. He bolted back into the tree and climbed to the tallest one he could get too.

Shore nodded at Ralf, without speaking. She padded slowly over to Maddie, still watching where the noise came from. Her brown eyes widened as she saw some movement and heard rustling from the tree that the noise came from. She yowled, turning towards Maddie and Ralf, "Run, Maddie and Ralf! I'll fight them off!"

Maddie looked at the small she-cat in surprise and shock. "No, you go, I'll fight off." Maddie ordered. Ralf then hissed back, "no, we stick to together." The all started quarelling when Maddie then heard the noise get louder. She grabbed Shore by the scuff and bolted toward the other direction, Ralf followed her.

Shore hated being picked up. She started swatting her paws around and kicking her feet, "Put me down, you! Now, or else!" She tried everything she could to release Maddie's hold of her scruff, but it didn't work. Shore mumbled as they carried on, wishing that they could fight off the creature that was near them.

"I'm not putting you down, you're acting like a helpless kit, maybe if we new what behind those trees we could maybe fight it off, and 1, you're hurt, and 2, that could maybe be a badger or something." Maddie meowed, her mouth all full of Shore's fur. Ralf said nothing but started to slow down. "I think we're far enough away from it." he breathed.

Shore started ignoring Maddie and looked at Ralf, "Ralf, tell your mouse-brained mother to put me down, or, um, or she'll get her stupid furball throat cut open." She had a grumpy look on her face and she didn't say anything, but then thought up, "I should have never wanted to meet either of you if I knew you'd be so, how should I say this, disrespectful." Shore had no idea of what she was talking about, but still thought it would change their minds.

Ralf looked at Shore with a shocked look, his mouth was open and his eyes were as pale as ever. Maddie put Shore down and just gave off a loud hiss. "I'll see you tomorrow at sunhigh," she meowed to Ralf, heading to the barn. I thought she was nice and caring, and I thought she could be my friend. Ralf's mind buzzed with thoughts. "She was only trying to help!" he breathed. "Find your own medicine cat," Ralf meowed, turned away. Then he heard Maddie yowl. Ralf's eyes widened. He bolted to see her at the tree they sleeped in and- a fox snarled at Maddie. Ralf then saw a flash back of seeing his father being killed by a fox that then left his father body gushing with blood. Maddie snarled and then saw Ralf. She turned back to the fox and leaped, the foxes jaws open wide and bit into Maddie's leg. She yowled from pain. "Put her down mouse dung!" Ralf spat. Ralf's brown pelt landed into the fox's back, then he twisted and bit hard into it's throat. The fox dropped his mother and fell onto the floor, gasping for breath. He leg gushed with blood, she managed to leap into the large tree and get a high as she could.

Shore stared at Ralf and walked away, to where they were heading at first, "Stupid, stupid, mouse-brained kit!" She stopped, turned to where Ralf and Maddie were, and glared. If she'd been nice to me, I would be helping her, but no, she wasn't nice to me, she thought to herself, her face turning sad. Shore then continued on by herself, "I hope she doesn't survive! I hope that fox gulps Ralf up in one measly bite! I hate mouse-brained Ralf and mouse-brained Maddie."

Maddie screeched in pain as she saw the fox they to snap it's jaws at Ralf. "No!" she wailed. Ralf looked at the fox's starving eyes and noticed how they were green, like the one that had attacked his father. He looked at it and lodged his small body into it's face and bit hard onto its ear. The fox turned around in circles and threw Ralf off him. Ralf screeched in pain as he was bit hard on the tail. The fox wouldn't let go of him. "Let go-" he breathed. He was able to escape and heard his housefolks calling. He looked at his mother with a sad look and ran away. Ralf bolted so fast into the mother twoleg's arm so quick that she looked at him sadly and closed the door. Maddie climbed farther into the tree so the fox wouldn't see or smell her. Then the fox looked at Shore. It licked it's lips and ran full force at the kittypet. "Shore!" Maddie screeched.

Shore's ears pricked up as she heard Maddie, "What do you want?" She turned back and saw the fox running towards her at full-speed. She tried to climb up the nearest tree, but couldn't. The fox was two tail-lengths away from her now, and she was struggling to find safety. She decided the only thing to do was run, and took off, farther into the forest. When she stopped, she spotted a fern bush and tried to hide in that, but the fox was right behind her the whole time, without her noticing. While Shore was getting into the bush, she felt terrible pain her back leg. The fox bit her and had it's jaw had locked. Shore screeched in pain and for help.

Maddie pounced out of the tree and tried to run to the fox. She jumped onto it's shoulder's and dug her claws and teeth into it's neck. The fox let go of Shore and yowled in pain. A twoleg farmer from the barn that Maddie came in started to yell and started to throw stuff. The fox started to run away, knowing that the farmer would do harm. Maddie let go and landed to the ground and looked at Shore with a glare. "Watch yourself." she meowed. She started to walk away, not caring about Shore anymore, she wanted to help, but forget that.
Ralf looked at his housefolk and smiled. She had rapped his leg into a soft blanket type thing. He leaned up and licked her cheek while she laughed. She picked him up and laid him into his scratching post that had a blanket at the top, he purred and closed his eyes.

Shore stared at the way Maddie had walked off. "Thanks a lot, stupid furball!" She settled down in the fern bush again, "I'll just wait here for another fox to eat me now. Goodbye forever!" She sat, sad and mad at the same time. How could they do this to me? I thought I was their friend, Shore thought, still watching the way Maddie had gone. Then she turned her attention to her leg. It was bleeding, and probably if it wasn't treated soon, she'd lose all the blood in her leg. And there was still blood dripping from her side, when the Twoleg kit dropped her.

Maddie jumped back into the barn, her pelt redish pink, along with all the other regular colors in her pelt. She ignored the horses and started to climb the stairs of haybales all the way up into the top. She laid down into her bed and started to clean her leg. She had known a little bit of herbs, but only simple ones. She rapped cobwebs into her leg and laid down, wondering of Ralf, and..... simply Shore.
Ralf's eyes widened of the fact of his mother and his old neighbor Shore. He looked at his paws and crawled out of his blanket and walked into the place when the housefolks ate, along with himself. He meowed and his twoleg noticed. She filled his food bowl up with dry pellets. He dipped his head into the bowl and tried to chew his food. He couldn't. The thought of Maddie, his mother, and Shore, dead.

Shore never took her eyes of the way Maddie left, but her ears pricked up to another rustling sound. It must be another fox. I'll just sit here and wait for it to eat me., she thought, shaking her head. Then the image of Ralf and Maddie, at their homes all warm and cozy, popped into her mind. She hoped Maddie and Ralf were okay, but was still mad at them. Then the noise became louder and Shore shot out of the fern bush, getting onto her four paws as fast as she could. Something hopped out of a bush. It was just a rabbit. Shore got mad and settled back down in the fern bush, waiting for another fox to come and kill her.

Maddie laid down and screeched in pain. "I can't take this!" she hissed loudly. Slowly getting to her paws she limped her way out of the barn. She tried to pick up the pase once she was out. Finally picking up a small pase she tried to get speed to jump the wooden fence. She jumped butt almost missed. She walked along the fence inside it and jumped onto a window sill. She saw Ralf eating the kittypet food. "Ralf!" she meowed. Ralf finched and saw his mother. He flicked his tail and walked over to the door. He started to meow loudly. His housefolk came by and opened the large door. He walked out. "What do you want." he growled. "We are leaving, I need some fresh air for awhile." she meowed.

Maddie saw Shore sitting from a long distance. "We need some water and some supplies to store before leafbare really kicks in." she meowed. Ralf nodded and left his mother's side. He walked up to Shore and touched noses with her. He looked at her leg and then at his leg. He sighed and then smiled at her. "I'm going for supplies for leafbare, would you like to come along?" he offered. Maddie was no where in sight. Maybe she'll come because she thinks mother isn't around He pricked his head up and meowed, "it's your choice." Ralf started to walk away in a different direction from where Maddie was. Maybe she'll follow me. he thought.

Shore gave a weak meow of pain when Ralf touched his nose to her's. She thought for a minute and scrambled to her feet, limping to the area where Ralf was. I hope he is not leading me into a trap!, she thought, catching up to Ralf. She kept alert for anything that could possibly hurt her. Sniffing the air, she smelled something that she had never smelt before, but it smelt good. She followed the scent trail and saw a rabbit. "It looks good," she meowed loudly, for Ralf to hear.

Ralf smiled and dropped into a hunting crouch, then carefully walking slowly with all his wieght on his back paws. Pouncing and jumping onto the rabbit, with a swift paw, he killed the rabbit easily. "Here you go," he purred, pushing the rabbit over to Shore.
Maddie sniffed the air. He ran off with Shore she thought. She could just get the supplies herself from the creek, but she might need some help, she'll probably run into them.

Shore looked at Ralf affectionately and mewled, "Thanks, Ralf." She dug into the rabbit, eating only half, and pushed the other half to Ralf. "I can't eat it all, you know." Shore spun around to face Ralf and asked very quietly, hoping Maddie wasn't near, "Where is your mother, Ralf? I don't know where she ran after getting that fox off of my leg."

Ralf smiled and purred once bitting into th rabbit. He smiled and gulped down the rest of the rabbit. "She's out looking for some more cobwebs for us, we just have to look for herbs to carry back to store for leafbare." he meowed softly. He slowly got to his paws. "The creek isn't too far away from here," he meowed. He noticed the smell of the cold water. He had loved the sweet taste of the creek. He loved all the fish that swam in it for him to eat.
Maddie walked around, high of the ground with her chin up. "Ah ha!" he purred. She leaped into a tree and twirled her tail around, putting cobwebs all of it. "This isn't enough though." he meowed sadly.

Shore started to follow after Ralf, then hesitated. She waited until Ralf was five fox-lengths away, then started to walk again. "I have the feeling your mother hates me," she meowed, backing away from Ralf, "Does she?" She hesitated again, then started running ahead of Ralf when she smelt the clear water of the creek.

Ralf frowned as Shore spoke. He turned around and saw her bolting toward the creek. He smiled and bolted after her, pushing her into the shallow water. "You should wash off that wound so it doesn't get infected." he laughed as he stood up and lapped up some water. His coat was soaked, and he laughed as he saw his reflection in the water. Then he focused on the Maddie question. "No, she just gets irritated when she's trying to help or act motherly and gets an additude." he meowed, licking his paws. "She acts a lot like a wild cat then at the same time a mother." he whispered.
Maddie padded up to the creek seeing Ralf and Shore playing in the water. "Careful! You might get a cold!" she hissed, walking up to them. She didn't hear what Ralf had to say about her but noticed that her leg was still bleeding. She slowly put her back leg into the water and screeched. "Burns!" Though the cold, sharp water was cleaning out her wound.

Shore gave a short laugh, then dragged her body out of the freezing water. With her thick fur, she would take a while to dry off. She shook as much of the water as she could off, trying to get Ralf wet. Then her face turned serious as she saw Ralf's mother. Great! Maddie is here!, she thought, backing up, accidentally hitting Ralf, "Oh! I'm sorry."

Ralf smiled as he was sprayed with water from Shore's pelt. " Thanks!" he joked. He nevously watched the expression on Shore's face once Maddie came up to them. He jumped out of the water and started to lick his pelt. "Maddie, is there something that can help our fur dry quicker?" he asked. "No, just lick it, and that's your fault for going into the creek in the first place." she growled. Ralf shrugged and looked at Shore. "Where are you staying now? Are you going back to your housefolks?" he asked. He noticed that he might have not of said that. Atleast Maddie can help her find a nice place in the barn if she wanted to stay there. Maddie looked up at Shore, basicly asking the same question in her head. Her brown leg was pulled out of the water and had Maddie's tounge being rapped around it.

Shore started licking her orange tabby pelt, then mewled very softly, slowly and quietly, "I don't want to go back to my housefolk. They're mean to me." She turned to the creek and stared blankly at the cold water, "I don't know what I'm going to do." Turning to Ralf, she meowed, "What should I do? I am scared. Is there any possibilty that those clans you were talking about would let me join?"

Maddie's eyes widened. "The clans? They almost clawed my fur off, with my rouge and kittypet sent on me!" Ralf stood up. "You can't leave me! Maddie will take care of you!" he pleaded. Maddie's eyes blinked slowly. "I would love too, but the barns packed." she lied. Ralf shot a gaze at her. Turning back to Shore his eyes went round. "No, you can't, not without me!" he cried.

Shore stared at Ralf, confused. "B-But." she stammered, confused about what to say, "Then Ralf will come with me to the clans. I can roll in some foxdung to get my kittypet scent of me, Maddie. I'm not so dumb, you know!" She turned her gaze to Ralf, her eyes pleading for him to come with her. She stepped closer to Ralf and whispered in his ear, "Please?"

Ralf looked over his shoulder. Breathing quickly turned back to him. "Yes!" he purred. His brown pelt was still wet and his tail rapped around her. "I'll always be at your side!" he promised. Maddie smiled. She was actually happy of Ralf making the big question of joining Shore. She new Ralf had like Shore from the start. She's pretty, and has the same additude as Ralf! "Go, I can lead you," she purred. Leaving his housefolks and becoming a wild cat again made Maddie's heart rise.

Ralf jumped for joy. I can't believe I'm leaving! He jumped over the creek quickly over some stone path. Maddie followed him, she pointed her nose in the direction following the creek. "Once we hit a huge Willow tree we go toward the sunset." she meowed. She started trotted in the lead as Ralf was walking along side Shore. "I'm really excited! We'll be in the clans!" he purred. "Only if they accept you," Maddie meowed back.
