His paws moved silently, swiftly as he darted after the retreating rabbit, the forest moving around him in swift green blurs. He stopped in a small clearing, panting and cursing himself for losing his prey. He could see with both eyes tonight, something that alerted him to teh fact this was a dream, that he hadn't really just lost that rabbit that--that something just moved off to his left and he turned swiftly to face it, paws quickly moving into a defensive position. Only to stop and stare with dumbfounded horror at the cat in front of him, small smile on light brown lips, white paws holding him up with elegant grace, blue eyes sparkling with kindness and love.
"R...Robinclaw..." he murmured, eyesing the spectre with wide eyes.
"Hello Owlfoot."
The voice was musical, welcoming...cold. Owlfoot took a step back, blinking at the figure of his brother with narrowing eyes. The sound of ferns moving behind him caused him to turn, beady eyes staring at him as a rabbit sat up,ears twitching. He shook his head, turning back--only to find Robinclaw's blue eyes in his face, a long grin on his bloody, rotting face that caused Owlfoot to utter a cry, to step away. "What a joke!" came a mocking response, his musical voice still cold. "Deputy? Bah! Can't even face a dream without crying out like a scared kit!"
Owlfoot clenched his teeth, biting back a snide remark. He was about to turn away, to tell himself to wake up, when a lancing pain shot through his leg, forcing him to turn and glare at the rabbit, the small things teeth digging into hsi flesh, causing blood to pool around it's too jagged teeth. He pulled at his leg, trying to wrench it free, but it wouldn't come loose, forcing him to growl in slight annoyance. "And you can't even overpower a rabbit? Hah!" came a cold remark in front of him, Owlfoot casting his brother's image a glare, but it wa sfalling apart now, rotting and dripping horrid fluids, flesh falling from him.
"Couldn't even protect her." Owlfoot twitched at this one, his body tensing up. Pain lanced through his eyes as the memory kicked in, his left side going black. He didn't even expect it as more pain lanced through his neck, pushing him down. Hundreds of squeaks and squeels met his ears, causing him to tremble. Rabbits. He struggled, fear beginning to boil in his belly. This pain was too real, far too real, to be a dream.
"Weak, so weak~!" Robinclaw cooed, approaching his struggling brother, eyeing the rabbits holding him down, marvelling at teh scarlet of his blood. "Taken down by prey! You don't deserve to be called deputy!" He giggled mericlessly as Owlfoot howled, pain lancing through him as more rabbits appeared, biting and tearing at him, splattering blood across the ground. "Weak...so very very weak..."
He woke with a startled and pained gasp, his body trembling as he blinked about, darting his head from side, the darkness of teh den disorienting him. Until teh moon shone through teh clouds and he could see Honeyfrost beside him, causing a relieved sigh to escape his still trembling body. He layed his head back down, eyes wide open. He wasn't so sure if he could fall asleep again tonight.

The whole ground was shaking, slight tremors moving through the earth. Honeyfrost could feel something stirring beside her and she drifted awake. It took a moment for her to realise where she was as she blinked large blue eyes. Something was moving beside her still. She had woken but why had it not stopped? She lifted her head, spotting the light on Owlfoot's open eyes. Seeing the look on his face, she became wide awake. "Owlfoot!" she whispered, concern obvious in her voice. "Are you okay? What's happened to you?"

Owlfoot jerked, turning his head toward Honeyfrost with obvious surprise. "Oh...Honeyfrost. I'm sorry I woke you. I....I had a nightmare is all," he said, smiling shakily. "Go on...go back to sleep."

Honeyfrost tipped her head to one side, her eyes scrutinising the grey tom. He was visibly shaken and his fear scent was heavy in the air. "I'm not going to sleep," she told him, rising to her paws. Shaking the last signs of sleep from her body, she arched her back and flexed her paws. "Let's go outside," she meowed softly, gesturing to the entrance of the den. "Some fresh night air will do you good."

Owlfoot just blinked slightly, standing up as he nodded. "Yeah...alright..." he murmured, standing and stretching. He winced visibly, whipping his head around to stare at his back leg. There was nothing wrong with it, nothing at all, but it hurt. It hurt much like when that rabbit had dug it's teeth into him...he shuddered, shaking it off and turning to limp outside.

Once outside, Honeyfrost glanced up at the night sky through the canopy of trees that guarded the camp. The stars twinkled and blinked at them, and for that moment, she knew StarClan watched over them. But why did they not soothe Owlfoot's dreams or keep AquaClan safe? She sighed, deep longing to see her family again filled her. Her only comfort was the grey tom that had now twice threw himself in harm's way to protect her. "I noticed you're limping," she meowed, turning to look at him. "Is your leg troubling you? I could get some poppy seeds."

Owlfoot looked at her, lifting and shaking his leg. "Oh now! It's fine! I probably just slept on it worng, is all," he mewed, sitting and curling his tail over his front paws, lifting his head to watch the twinkling stars, his blind eye pale in comparison to his now twinkling useful one.

"Oh," Honeyfrost meowed, looking away in embarassment. He was perfectly able to look after himself without her asking him every moment whether he needed anything. She looked up from her paws and back at the night sky, marvelling at the great vastness of it. "I hope that Flaxeyes and Owlspot are safe," she whispered. "They have kits now," she added with a genuine smile, looking back at Owlfoot.

Owlfoot turned to look at her, ears twitching as a large smile formed on his face. "Oh! That's wonderful!" he mewed, grinning widely. He turned his head back to the sky, blinking up at it. "I certainly hope they're doing fine as well. Everyone one of them."

The tip of Honeyfrost's tail flicked against the ground in a steady and happy rythm. "I don't even know how many there are or their names," she meowed with a grimace. She looked down from the night sky and turned back towards Owlfoot, blinking bright blue eyes. She rose to her paws and sat back down beside him, burying her nose into his shoulder. "Thank-you for saving me again. I wish I could give you good dreams though," she murmured.

Owlfoot twitched and looked down at her, mouth opened slightly. "A-ah! You don't have to thank me Honeyfrost!" he mewed, whiskers quivering. "I...I'd gladly do it over and over again if it means you stay safe..." His words were slightly less audible, but by no mean undecipherable. "I...I uh...I think I love you Honeyfrost..." It caused his heart to twist just to say it, himself being unsure if she even felt the same for him.
(Finally, he confesses! You get this cause I feel like such a sap right now.)

Under the great expanse of the night sky, Honeyfrost had marvelled at its sheer vastness. They were so insignificant but now, gazing up at Owlfoot, she couldn't care less. He made her feel like she was the most important person in the world. "I've always loved you," she meowed softly. The she-cat brushed her cheek against his, the scars a reminder of how much he sacrificed for her. She was just so happy that he shared the same feelings, although, her stubborn nature would of kept her chasing him anyway! All she needed from him was one of his rare smiles. "You cannot believe how much it hurts me to see you get hurt," Honeyfrost told him, her voice choking a little. "I-I thought, oh Owlfoot, I thought you were going to die!"
{Baw <3 He's so sweet.}

Owlfoot blinked, eye gaining an almost melonchaly look before a deep purr rumbled his chest, a smile gracing his lips. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I worried you, I really am...I just...didn't want you to get hurt," he murmured, rubbing his his cheek against her. "I just...didn't want to lose you too..."

Honeyfrost echoed his purr, her own rumbling under her thick golden fur. She licked his cheek tenderly, blue eyes twinkling in the moonlight. "I'm thankful that you saved me but you have to give me a chance," she meowed softly. "What am I meant to do when I lose you because you're trying not to lose me?" It appeared that they were destined for a life together where they continuously through each other in harm's way, just to save the other. What a funny existence.

Owlfoot blinked, eyeing her for a moment. "I'm sorry," he said, purring deeply, draping his tail over hers. 'I won't leave you. I promise I won't."

Honeyfrost tilted her head up at him, smiling widely. "I'm sorry too," she meowed. "And I will never leave you. Ever. Perhaps the nightmares will end?" There were times where she woke up in the night, searching the den to make sure that Owlfoot was still there. Now she was sure that he did the same thing. Like Spottedfrost, their confidence had been shattered. I will hunt down and kill those rogues like the crowfood they are!

Owlfoot smiled, shuddering slightly. "Yes. I hope," he said, but, deep down inside, he felt his nightmares had just started, that some horrible shadow was waiting just inside the den to turn his dreams into something horrifying. But he wouldn't say that. He couldn't, not to her, not now.

Honeyfrost was oblivious to how Owlfoot really felt and she mistook his shudder as a reaction to whatever he had seen in his nightmares. "Just keep smiling," she told him," I'm sure everything will turn around." She turned her head up at the sky and smilled cheerfully at the twinkling stars. "Do you think Hawkstar and Icestar will let me visit BeachClan?" she asked. "I miss my siblings...Sometimes I wish we had never joined the Clans, but I would never have met you," the she-cat added as way of explanation.

Owlfoot blinked at her before following her gaze to StarClan. "I'm sure he will," he murmured, smiling a bit wider. "I don't think he will keep you from your family."

Honeyfrost nodded slowly. "The Clans have been so quiet lately, " she murmured. She looked towards Owlfoot, wondering if he had been thinking the same. "It hasn't been long since the battle with BurntClan but everything is too calm. It's like the air before the storm." She was especially wary of BeachClan. AquaClan owed them too much and with FrostClan's only queen in their territory, Icestar had power over Whitestar and Jaystar. Only RainClan was free, but for how long?

Owlfoot's ears flattened. "Yeah...things are way too calm," he murmured, nuzzling closer. "If anything happens though, I pray RainClan will not be involved." His smile vanished slightly, but soon returned. "And I pray nothing too serious will happen if something does occur."
