Orchidtail's Kits

"Littlekit it is then. It suits him." Hawkstar said, agreeing with a nod. He then looked to the last unnamed kit, watching the sweet brown she-cat move around slowly. And gracefully. "How about Fawnkit? For her movements and soft fur, like yours." he suggested, looking to Orchidtail for approval.

Orchidtail loved the name. She had once seen a wild deer in the forest and she still remember the grace and power and animal had. It suited the she-cat very much. The white quen nodded happily. "It's a wonderful name," she purred," We have Heronkit, Lightningkit, Goldenkit, Fawnkit and Littlekit. How beautiful kits." She sighed blissfully and laid her head down beside them.

Hawkstar nodded, smiling and yawning tiredly. "Yes, five beautiful kits." he agreed, looking over them with affection. And much was to be expected of these kits, being kits of the leader and all. And of course Owlfoot would mentor one, being the deputy. But that was sometime by now. For right now, everything was good as it was.

"How are they?" Hawkstar blinked, looking to the entrance of the nursery, seeing his friend Wolfheart. He smiled and nodded. "Good. Very good. How are you my friend?" Wolfheart chuckled, stretching some and padding over. "Sore and tired." he replied, nodding to Orchidtail. "Hello Orchidtail, they look beautiful, what are their names?"

Orchidtail smiled as Wolfheart padded in. It was good to see he was up and about after the badger attack. Thanks to his and Spottedfrost's efforts her kits would be safe.
"Yes they are," she agreed. She began touching each kit with her nose as she introduced them to the grey warrior. "This grey tom is Heronkit. The black and white tom is Lightningkit. The golden tabby is Goldenkit and her sister is Fawnkit. See the light brown fur? And finally we have Littlekit." When she was finished she beamed up at him proudly.

Wolfheart smiled, glad to see the kits healthy and safe. "They're great! Lightningkit looks a lot like you, Hawkstar." he commented, looking to his friend warmly. Then it hit him. Heron and Lightning.....oh no. His eyes glazed slightly as he looked to the kits, thinking about the warning over and over in his mind. When Orchidtail finished and looked up to him, he blinked, shaking it off and nodding with a small smile. He couldn't even tell them.....he needed to find the others cats in Aquaclan, Beachclan, and Frostclan that knew and soon.

Orchidtail noticed the change in Wolfheart's attitude but ignored it. He probably had alot on his mind. "Lightningkit does like Hawkstar doesn't he?" she meowed," And Littlekit looks like me and so does Fawnkit. Well, she's a different colour but there's not much difference."

Hawkstar noticed the change too, but decided he would ask Wolfheart later. "Ah, I guess he does. And Littlekit and Fawnkit look just like their beautiful mother." he purred rustily. "Yes they do. And look at Heronkit and Lightningkit. Already fighting over milk. Typical brothers." Wolheart said thoughtfully, nodding.

"And Lightningkit like his handsome father," Orchidtail purred. "Goldenkit resembles my father partially."
Hearing Wolfheart's remark she nudged Heronkit and Lightningkit in a gentle sort of discipline.

(Another reason for Lightningkit and Heronkit to be rivals. Heronkit might want to prove he's more of a leader like his father than his brother who's almost an exact look alike. ))
