Hawkstar stepped out of his den, stretching and shaking his fur. He smiled, the sunlight shining on his face and back, making his black pelt shine. He was happy about what he was about to do, even more than usual. And so proud. He never thought that his own kits would be apprentices soon and he would be the leader able to grant it to them. He gleamed with pride and he bounded up onto Highrock, placing his paws firmly on the rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather at highrock!" his yowl echoed across camp as he finished.

From where he lay in the apprentice den, Woodpaw recognized Hawkstar's call, and his ears perked up. A Clan meeting! It was an idea he always associated with something new and exciting, whether the meeting itself ended up being good or bad. As he wasn't one for smoothly connecting his memories and thoughts with a situation, he was yet unaware of exactly what was going on. Nevertheless, he skidded from the old tree with a yawn, feeling somewhat cheerful, and for once he was able to pad into the clearing without tripping over his own feet. All cats old enough to catch their own prey... good thing he didn't say 'all cats able to catch their own prey, or I wouldn't be here! His thought was more joking than bitter, however, and he settled down smiling.
Sootpaw craned her neck around the side of the small rock hollow in which she slept, her stormy eyes gleaming. From the second she'd heard the leader's voice, she was ready to spring - she's been anxiously awaiting the apprenticing of Hawkstar's kits all night. True, they wouldn't be her own denmates, but they would be close to her age - surely she would find time amongst her Medicine Cat duties to befriend them? She dove forward, blinking up at the highrock.

A slim white queen padded out from the Nursery. Pride radiated from every pore in her body. Her kits were going to become apprentices! She nudged at a small white kit at her paws. Even after six moons, Littlekit hadn't grown very much. He was no bigger than a partically fat squirrel. "Darling, your fur is all missed up," Orchidtail sighed, licking her son's head. He squirmed away, wrinkling his nose. "I'm not a kit anymore! I'm an apprentice."
With his grey tabby fur preened Heronkit left the Nursery, ready to see who his mentor would be. He glanced at the warriors surrounding the Highrock, hoping to catch their eye. He couldn't wait until he was out hunting and learning to fight. He felt giddy with excitement.
Honeyfrost watched the ceremony from under the shade of small shrub. After that rogue attack she had lost alot of her confidence. She couldn't believe she had let them surprise her like that. She rested her head of fore legs, wincing as she bumped the still healing wounds.
Desertflower sat in the crowd of cats, eager for the ceremony to begin. New apprentices was just they needed. Beside her sat her dark ginger daughter, Maplepaw. As the oldest apprentice she wouldn't have much training left but she still couldn't help but be excited to have new den mates. Now that her leg injury was healed there would be plenty huntings oppurtunities.
(( The rogue rp in question hasn't been finished as yet so I'm just guessing :/ ))

((Yeah, the rogue rp should be before the ceremony.))
Lightningkit padded beside his older brother, keeping uo quietly easily with his long strides. He should have been, like his brothers, preened and smoothed for the ceremony. But at the last second, he had escaped his prideful mother, his fur still ruffled. He had never liked being fussed over or taken care of. He liked to be able to fend for himself. He stopped below High Rock, sitting between his two brothers as he waited with excitement. He looked through the throng of cats, spotting Maplepaw. She would soon be his denmate, since she was still an apprentice. Catching her eye, he smiled warmly to her.
Hawkstar looked down to his four kits, his three sons and daughter. They would be fine apprentices, if they would stay out of trouble and get along with each other. "Heronkit." he called and waited to have his son by his side. He met his eyes and smiled, prideful for both leader and father before he started. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He would like to become a warrior of Rainclan, but must first become an apprentice. Heronkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Heronpaw. Ravenclaw will mentor you."

Maplepaw beamed as she spotted Lightningkit smiling warmly at her. He had to be one of the nicest out of Orchidtail's sons. Heronkit, technically Heronpaw now, always acted a little too bosy for his own good and Littlekit, despite his cute appearance, had to have the worst attitude she had ever seen. Yes, she diffently prefered Lightningkit and couldn't wait to go out training with him.
Ravenclaw! Tussockwind's old mentor! Heronpaw couldn't believe his luck. The tom was probably one of the best, most experienced mentors he could get. Pleased with this choice, he dipped his head to his father and waited for Ravenclaw to approach.
Tussockwind smiled widely, pleased that his mentor now had a new apprentice. And what an honour, mentoring the leader's son. Of course, somebody would have to but still... Tussockwind sighed and licked his chest fur.
(( Apple is no longer roleplaying so that leaves out Fawnkit I believe. ))

Woodpaw bounded in Maplepaw's direction as he spotted her patchy tabby pelt near her mother's. Though she was still a bit older than he and probably wouldn't have too long left as an apprentice now that she'd recovered, he'd lately gotten used to having her in the apprentices' den. Which reminded him... weren't Orchidtail's kits to be apprenticed soon? They'd be old enough- Oh, right. Upon turning his gaze back to the Highrock, he noticed the kits beginning to pad forward, and felt like a complete mouse-brain. Good thing I never asked anyone what was going on. I was probably the only one who never noticed. He watched Hawkstar give his kits their apprentice names, beginning with Heronkit. Since no one was chanting his name, it must mean they would save it until the end... right? Or did you even chant the names of new apprentices? Vaguely, he brought about the memory of his own ceremony, but all that came to mind was his begging Owlfoot and Wolfheart to go hunting with him. I still haven't caught anything, have I? These kits are going to be warriors before me... He swallowed, whatever pride he'd had that day catching in his throat, and looked at his paws. Despite how awkward he suddenly felt at forgetting everything, he was looking forward to the extra company. His only worry was whether these new apprentices were so anxious to be sharing a den with him...
Sootpaw looked from the Hawkstar to the to-be apprentices, nearly bursting with excitement. She continued to watch from the back of the crowd, craning her neck.

Goldenkit sat quiet next to her mother, as usual, her golden, brownish pelt looked a little bit like her fathers, but her longer pelt would be the advantage while hunting, as so she thought. Goldenkit was always the one who was left out, the one who was never included, and of course, never apart of the play group. While her brothers acted like she never was apart of their kin she listened to the elders tell their stories. And the one that made her interested was the one about Burntstar in Burntclan. She wanted to meet this well built tom, as so they call him scary, he doesn't seem so scary when she pictures him in his head.

Spottedfrost watched quietly, her fur hanging limp off of her bones. She was getting worse and worse, the nightmares getting scarier and scarier. She couldn't sleep anymore, and the smell of freshkill made her nauseus. She yawned silently, then smiled when Ravenclaw was declared Heronpaw's mentor.
Rainwing watched, a mixture of curiousity and excitement playing in her features. She sat near the back, like always, and jittered around when Ravenclaw was named Heronpaw's mentor. What if she was named someone's mentor? She didn't actually believe that that would happen, so she wasn't hoping...just a little, maybe.

At the sound of Hawkstar's voice echoing in the warriors' den Ravenclaw woke up with a start. He stood up, arching his back into a stretch. He padded out of the den and into the sunny day. He was about to get an apprentice. Just then he heard his name being said by Hawkstar. He would be mentoring Heronpaw. He approached his apprentice, smiling, and touched noses with him. Hopefully I'll do as good as I did with Tussockwind.

Hawkstar smiled to his son, then nodded to Ravenclaw in appreciation as he continued. "Lightningkit." he spoke now, seeing his second oldest son join him quickly. These two were as different as night and day. Strength versus agility, courage to strategy....but they were brothers and were just as eager to become apprentices and warriors. He looked to his son, almost an exact copy of himself in a smaller size before continuing. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He would like to become a warrior of Rainclan, but must first become an apprentice. Lightningkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Lightningpaw. Spottedfrost will mentor you." He looked over to the she-cat as he finished. He knew she had been having trouble after the badger attack, though his friend Wolfheart had recover very well. It seemed more mental than physical. And due to his friend's insistence, he had trusted her to mentor. And he choose carefully, knowing Lightningkit was one of his gentler sons and would go easy on the she-cat and learn a great deal as well.
Lightningkit's ears perked at the sound of his mentor, touching noses with his father before looking to his mentor. He knew Heronkit would brag later about the better mentor, but he was just as satisfied. He was becoming an apprentice after all. He smiled in a friendly way to his mentor, tail flickering happily.

Spottedfrost's eyes widened. Her? She-she couldn't do that! There was no way she could handle an apprentice now! Even as she thought this, the once-beautiful chocolate tabby padded forward to touch noses with the small apprentice. She backed away quickly, not wanting all of the Clan to see what had happened to her, though she knew they already knew.

Heronpaw smiled up at Ravenclaw and stepped lightly to the side as his brother was named an apprentice. Strangely enough, he felt some pity towards Lightningpaw because of his mentor. Spottedfrost hadn't yet recovered from the badger attack and he had rumours that her injuries were more mental and physical. Heronpaw couldn't help but wonder why she had been given an apprentice.
"Oh dear. I hope Spottedfrost can handle this," Desertflower murmured. It was well-known that the she-cat wasn't in the best shape but perhaps an apprentice would give her something to focus on and draw her out of her shell. "Lightninpaw is actually quite sweet. She'll be fine with him," Maplepaw whispered to her mother. "Plus, Wolfheart and Woodpaw will be there to help."
"Goldenkit, your fur is a mess," Orchidtail whispered, unhappily. Her only daughter was just about to go up for her apprentice ceremony and she hadn't even bothered to groom herself. It seemed to her that the tabby's head was always in the clouds. She bent down and rasped her tongue over Goldenkit's shoulders. Much better.
Honeyfrost peered out from under the shade of the shrub she was lying under. She frowned when she recognised the she-cat up on the Highrock beside Lightningpaw. It was Spottedfrost, the she-cat that got attacked by a badger. I would rather be attacked by rogues... she thought sadly. The pretty chocolate tabby still looked worse for wear even though all her physical wounds had healed. Honeyfrost wondered briefly if it was possible for them to be friends. After all, both of them had been attacked and crushed by something. Wow. That's the perfect thing to be friends for. Sarcasim always made her feel better.

Goldenkit smiled, to hide the irritation scambling in her head, from her mother's cleanness. "Thanks Orchardtail." Goldenkit purred. Goldenkit rapped her head around to see her back was all tangled. Rapping her small, pink nose into her hip and pulling out four different tangles. Then looking up at Silverpelt and closing her eyes a split second. She looked at her white paws and started to lick her chest. After another couple seconds, she remained sitting next to her mother. Goldenkit watched her father's broad pelt very carefully, as he kept the meeting going.

Lightningpaw smiled to his new mentor, whispering softly as they touched noses. "It's okay." Those two words would help, he hoped. He knew he would learn from this she-cat, she must be a good warrior to have beaten a badger after all. He moved to the side to sit by her, watching as his other brother come forward for his chance.
"Littlekit." Hawkstar said as his second oldest stepped away and his smallest son was next. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He would like to become a warrior of Rainclan, but must first become an apprentice. Littlekit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Littlepaw. Rainwing will mentor you." he said proudly, crouching down to touch noses with the small cat. He knew Orchidtail worried about him especially, but he would be fine once he got along with his brothers.

Littlepaw dipped his head to his father, feeling an enormous amount of pride. He was finally an apprentice and under Rainwing's mentoring he was sure he could become a greater warrior than Heronpaw. He pulled away to touch noses with his new mentor.

Goldenkit, still not an apprentice, too bad she was Hawkstar's only daughter, she guessed that's why she was always the one left out, and told to stay out of the way. It wasn't fair anymore! She was ready to stand her ground. Goldenkit sat proper and held her chin high, one, to look brave, and two, she couldn't see over the other warrior's heads.

As the new apprentices were given their names, Woodpaw tried hard to hard to think optimistically. He and the other apprentices were going to be friends - and not only that; with him being older, they'd look up to him, learn from him - Yeah, right. He couldn't keep convincing himself. How could anyone learn from a cat who hadn't yet done so much as catch a mouse? Glumly, he let his gaze wander between the three cats who were now his denmates. It would end up being the other way around, he supposed, with the others easily surpassing him. Did he mind that? He wasn't sure. Finally spotting her, he glanced at the last of Hawkstar's kits, Goldenkit, and waited for her to receive her mentor.

Spottedfrost felt so awkward. What was Hawkstar thinking? Giving her an apprentice when she was so...vulnerable? She couldn't even handle going out on patrol, much less training, hunting, anything! She looked for Wolfheart, yearning for his comfort, but she couldn't see him anywhere. She felt her heart drop, and she closed her eyes as she felt her stomach drop as well. She knew the Clan must be wondering the same thing she was wondering. Why had she gotten an apprentice? At the young tom's words, she felt a little better. Maybe Lightningkit could help her.
Rainwing's eyes widened. I got an apprentice!? She bounced forward, eager to tough noses with Littlekit. She had an apprentice. SHE HAD AN APPRENTICE! It didn't matter that the Clan didn't like her. It didn't matter that she wasn't trusted. Hawkstar trusted her, and that was what counted. She sighed in disbelief. The silver she-cat couldn't wait to tell Brackenstripe!

Hawkstar nodded to his youngest son and his mentor before continuing to finsh the ceremony. Last, but not least, his only daughter. "Goldenkit." he said, looking down his last kit with pride before speaking again as she joined him. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. She would like to become a warrior of Rainclan, but must first become an apprentice. Goldenkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Goldenpaw. Owlfoot will mentor you." he finished strongly, looking to his deputy, as if to say, take care of my daughter.

Goldenkit's eyes turned amber and gave a round look to her father. "I accept." her voice was crisp and strong. Looking at her mother once more and smiling, she finally scooted her way through the warriors and made her way to the spot her father was standing on. Goldenpaw now looking at her mentor, and then smiling to her father, she touched noses to the deputy.

Orchidtail smiled happily with the decision. It was traditional for the deputy to mentor one of the leader's kits and the rogue attack had nearly compromised that. Owlfoot's wounds however hadn't been so bad and he was recovering nicely. There was barely anything their medicine cat couldn't fix. However, Spottedfrost was an exception but with Lightningpaw she was sure to get better. Out of the corner of her eye, Orchidtail saw a small movement in the bushes. Honeyfrost? What is she doing hiding there?
"Owlfoot?" Honeyfrost echoed, siffly sitting up. Her head brushed the leaves of the ferns around her and they rustled in her ears. She flinched at the sound and slipped out to sit at the far back of the crowd of cats. To be honest, she was a little surprised. She couldn't help but wonder if Owlfoot would be strong another to take on mentoring duties. I'm sure Hawkstar wouldn't do anything that would injure his deputy she reassured herself.
