The early morning was cold, snow mixed with sleet fell heavily. But in the flurry of white and gray, the bright auburn pelt stood out of Foxflame stood out easily. Oh what he wouldn't give to be in the warmth of the warriors den right about now, his fur being blown roughly by the howlign wind. He could feel the chill through his thick pelt, something he did not like. But he had agred to Icestar's mission and now he was watching the border between them and Frostclan. 'Why does she think Frostclan of all clans is up to something? There nothing compared to us in size and has she seen the wy Whitestar looks at her?' he thought, shaking his head and blinking the sleet out of his eyes. As he did so, he lost his footing as some loose snow gave way and sent him tumbling down head over heels into Frostclan territory. The snow just seemed to make him roll faster and he yelped as his front left leg struck something hard. Finally he stopped in the middle of the field in Frostclan's territory, just laying on his stomach. His vision was dizzy and blurred from the roll. Also didn't help that he was soaked and freezing now, causing his body to shiver. After a few moments, he realized he needed to get out of the freezing air. He moved to get to his feet, only to be stopped by an agonizing pain shoot through his leg as he tried to stand on all fours. Great. There was no way he could make it back on three legs alone in this weather. Sinking back to the ground, he realized his eyes growing heavy and body going numb. He couldn't stay out here in the snow or he would freeze. But the strength of exhaustion and hypothermia(or whatever cats get) was getting to his head as he completely collapsed to the ground, eyes slipping closed.
(His paw's only sprained. And the weather is so bad, Frostclan might not get to Beachclan to tell them. Maybe he's stuck in Frostclan for a little bit. x3)

Skylight was hunting, her figure thin. She sniffed the air, nothing. Not on wiff of prey. The wind blew hard against her pelt. Sniffing the air again, she finally smelled a cardinal. "Food!" she whispered. She was excited. She saw the bird pecking at the frost, hoping to probably find some berries or something, it wouldn't find any bugs here, in the freezing air. The black and white she-cat went into a hunting crouch and stepped slowly. She finally got all the muscule force she needed to pounce. Springing into the air, he paws wide in front of her small figure. Jamming her jaw onto the red bird's neck, the bird made it's last squawk there. Skylight sat down and opened her jaws to let the bird fall into the snow, then with her mouth open, she sniffed the air. Beachclan? No, it's just the breeze. She was confused. Why would Beachclan come into Frostclan territory? They had a lot more prey then Frostclan had, and they meant no harm.

The flurries were getting weaker, the sleet becoming cold rain. The dripping flakes of ice clung to the fur of a large gray she-cat and melted slowly. Rainlight shivered and flicked her ears unhappily. She was lucky as her pelt was thicker than the other FrostClan cats, her leaf-bare coat keeping her toasty warm. But the rain was cold on her face and chilled her right down to her bones. "Skylight!" she called out. The black and white she-cat was no where to be seen. 'So much for hunting together,' she grumbled. Rainlight raised her head and attempted to draw a scent in from the air but the rain was washing everything away. "Skylight!" she called, her voice louder still.

The cold rain seeped through Foxflame's already wet fur, freezing the tom. His bright fur was almost white from the falling snow. He opened his tired eyes slowly and lifted his head at the sound of some cats voice, every movement hurting his aching body. Was he hearing things? Everything was was fuzzy and his head hurt. Maybe there was somebody.....and he knew he needed some help. "H-help....." he called hoarsely, the effort draining more energy and he layed his head back on the snow in exhaustion.

Rainlight frowned. Something just moved up ahead, near the fence line. The she-cat crouched down and crept forward, hoping it was a mouse caught in the snow. Her ears swirveled forward at the sound of a voice calling for help. Skylight? It doesn't sound like her though. She rose slowly and moved forward, easily spotting Foxflame's bright fur against the pale ground. What was he doing here on FrostClan territory? Rainlight rushed to his side and nudged his freezing body with her nose. "You have to get up before the cold kills you," she told him. His fur was soaked through and it wouldn't be long until he froze to death. She glanced around the area, unsure whether to bring him to FrostClan camp or drag him back down the hill to BeachClan.

Foxflame's eyes opened, blinking up at the fuzzy figure of the she-cat. He could tell by her voice. And her scent was Frostclan. He heaved a heavy sigh, struggling to get to his paw. He manage to stand, but stumbled as he took a step with his left leg and sank back onto his haunches, favoring that leg. He shivered, looking to the other. "I...it hurts to walk..." legs shaking from lack of strength and the cold, his eyes fluttering as he tried to keep consciousness.

Skylight sniffed the air again. Rainlight's sent was in the air. She followed her sent and saw Foxflame and Rainlight standing next to each other. The she-cat noticed Foxflame's leg. "Is it broken?" Those first words were concerning. Then she noticed that she was behind a bush, her voice probably scared their pelts off. "It's me." Skylight meowed. She got to her paws and padded up to Rainlight. "Do you need me to get more warriors to get him to camp?" she asked.
ooc; Cat, now Foxflame can spy on them and then again they don't think he is because he's in Frostclan's camp =]

Rainlight jumped at Skylight's voice, her fur rising along her back. "Oh, it's you," she meowed in relief. She smiled and shook her head in answer to the black and white cat's question. "There's no bone poking out and his leg appears straight. Probably just a muscle strain." Rainlight turned back to her new patient and dug her shoulder up under Foxflame's shoulder blade, in an attempt to keep him standing. "I think between us we'll be able to drag him back to camp," she told Skylight.

Skylight nodded. "I think we can have him healed up soon, as long as he doesn't wander off again." She growled. She wasn't too happy with a Beachclan warrior in the territory. "We should send a patrol saying that Foxflame has sprained a paw and he'll be staying with us for a while." The black and white she-cat didn't want her mother worring about a warrior, she has enough on her paws. Skylight walked up to the Beachclan warrior and offered her shoulder to the opposite side of Foxflame because Rainlight was already on the other.

Foxflame's senses were so dulled by the pain and cold, his ears barely twitched at the sound of Skylight's approach. He was grateful for Rainlight's help, dipping his head slightly to her. Then Skylight helped as well. Normally he would be embarrassed to burden two she-cats for help, especially from another clan. But he was in such bad shape, he was extremely thankful for the help. "S-sorry for t-the trouble... Patrolling b-border and slipped. T-thank you..." he murmured through chattering teeth, his amber eyes dull.

"Get him back, and hurry, I'll warn the others." Skylight meowed to her clanmate. Skylight bolted through the snow, the bush she came from, she ran into that. Skylight shook her head quickly and jumped back to her paws. The black and white she-cat took a pludge and slid down a small hill. She spotted the bird she had caught and quickly grabbed it. She bolted toward camp direction.

"You should be thanking StarClan," Rainlight grumbled as she padded along slowly," If I hadn't been going mad in my den I wouldn't of come out here in this awful weather!" The pads of her paws were starting to feel numb and she wanted nothing more to be sitting back in her den keeping warm. She was a little annoyed that Skylight had suddenly ran off leaving her with Foxflame but the black and white she-cat probably wanted to go talk to Whitestar. Anybody could tell they were in love. Rainlight sighed softly, her breath becoming a fine mist. "I wonder if there's any honey...something sweet would be good for you," she murmured absently to her newest patient. She was slightly supsicious of why Foxflame had been out patrolling the border alone. Well, he had to be alone for nobody from BeachClan had rescued him. Strange, I wonder what he was doing up there.

Foxflame nodded solemnly, his thoughts elsewhere. Starclan... Bramblethorn....maybe she was looking after him, still protecting him like when they were kids. She was with him, meaning she had forgiven him. He glanced up to the sky which you could barely see because of the snow clouds, his eyes lighting up for a moment. Then he dropped his gaze, focusing on his walking and the throbbing in his leg. 'Lucky it's not broken..' he thought as he winced. Then the scent of Frostclan grew closer and stronger. They were at the camp.

Whitestar was sitting in the elders' den, chatting calmly as he shared a rabbit with Bluepool. As he was licking morsels of meat from his whiskers, his mother got up, looked outside the den, and murmured, "I smell BeachClan." Startled, the leader perked his ears and turned around. "What? Are you sure?" "Yeah. And the patrol's back. You should probably go take a look." Quietly, Whitestar crept into camp and looked around. "Skylight? Rainlight?" They were not in camp nor in the warriors' den; he choose to check the next most likely place--the medicine cat den. There, the albino tom found the two she-cats and a ginger tom who was the BeachClanner. He had seen the cat at Gatherings but did not know his name. "Who are you and why are you here?" He tried not to sound intimidating, especially because he realized mid-sentence that the cat was hurt. "And are you okay?"

Foxflame lay tiredly on the ground, thankful for some warmth. His body still shivered uncontrollably, the cold seeming to make his sprained leg hurt more. His ears hardly perked as he heard pawsteps, scenting Whitestar approach. He managed to lift his head, looking to the leader as he spoke. Then he gradually got to his feet shakily to face him, his legs trembling beneath him but he was able to stand. "I'm F-Foxflame of Beachc-clan. I-I fell while patrolling t-the border. Sprained m-my paw." He explained quietly, his teeth chattering. Then he dipped his head in respect, the effort about making him fall over. "T-Thank you for y-your hospitality Whitestar...I-I'm sorry to b-be a bur-burden.." he apologized quietly, looking back up to the leader with dulled amber eyes.

Rainlight grimaced at Whitestar before turning her attention back to the ginger tom. He could barely stand up or stop his teeth chattering. "Skylight," she meowed, calling over the she-cat. "Could you please begin licking his fur the other way. I need him dry and warm." She then turned back to her storage of herbs and removed a small amount of feverfew, lavendar and precious catmint. It was used to treat chills and fever but would hopefully prevent Foxflame from developing the syptoms. She also threw in a little goldenrod and poppyseeds for his sprained leg. "You'll have to eat these," Rainlight told him sternly, nudging him back into the moss nest. "They'll help with your leg and prevent you from coming down with a chill or fever. I'm sure BeachClan would like you back healthy and happy."

"It's fine," Whitestar meowed. He hoped that the BeachClan warrior wouldn't be able to read his expression for the hint of panic gracing the leader's visage. He had two new apprentices, so the clan had a total of eighteen cats...and they would have to feed Foxflame for a day or two...Only a day or two... "Try your best to get better fast, though. You'll be much happier in BeachClan than you will be here."

Foxflame nodded to Rainlight, laying back down with a sigh. It felt good to be off his feet, warmth coming back to his body already. He looked up to Whitestar, nodding. "I will, as I said, do not wish to be a burden. Once I am not so chilled, please allow me to help in return for your kindness." he said quietly, dipping his head to the Leader and then eating the herbs Rainlight had given him. This was one way to follow Icestar's order, but it panged him to spy on these generous cats.

Skylight did what Rainlight had said and began licking Foxflame's fur. Between licks she gave the Beachclan warrior strange looks. She didn't like the idea of the Beachclan warrior being in camp, but she had to say that the border's sents were stale. I hope to Starclan Icestar didn't send to spy. Her mother wouldn't do that, well at least she thought. "Do you know when Blackleaf is coming home?" She asked Foxflame.

"Skylight, just keep with that and if he starts to feel worse come see me," Rainlight instructed. She turned to Whitestar, noticing the small amount of panic in his eyes. The leader was worried about something and so was she. "I just have to ask you about the juniper berry supply," she told him, a little white lie. "You must have a look at the bush." She fluffed up her fur and slipped out the den, flicking her tail across the albino's flank. She didn't want Foxflame or Skylight listening in to her conversation.

Foxflame glanced to Skylight gratefully, laying his head down tiredly. He watched as Rainlight and Whitestar exchanged a glance and stepped outside. He couldn't help but be nervous. Had they figured out his real intentions already? Was he that obvious? When Skylight spoke, he was grateful to be distracted. He smiled, but shook his head. "No idea. Haven't really been paying attention, too much..stuff happening lately." he said, his eyes flickering with sadness as he looked away, remembering his sister. It had been days and it still hurt just as much.

((Sorry!))
Whitestar nodded and followed the medicine cat. "What is it, Rainlight?" he whispered. "Why do you need to ask me about the berries? I don't know anything about medicine." Obviously, he had been unable to pick up on Rainlight's lie; he really did think that she was concerned about the clan's supply of juniper berries. Of course, anything was possible in the dead of leaf-bare, but he was pretty sure that he had heard that juniper thrived in any type of weather.

Rainlight groaned and shook drops of water from her coat. Sometimes Whitestar could be really mouse-brained. "I lied, it's about Foxflame," she whispered, glancing back at her den. "I just find it a little bit odd that he went out on patrol alone. Surely if he was with other cats they would of seen or heard him fall?" She closed her eyes briefly, fluffing up her pelt. She already had enough to think about without adding an odd, injured BeachClan warrior to the mix. "I'm worried about the Clan," she confessed," I've been having very odd dreams."

"Didn't they find him on our territory?" Whitestar asked, tilting his head in confusion. "What could he be doing here? I know BeachClan has a ton of prey, so it doesn't make any sense that he'd want to steal it..." The leader shook some stubborn snow crystals from his pelt and continued. "Dreams? Like what?" All of his attention would be focused on Rainlight's dreams, especially if they concerned the clan. Never mind Foxflame; what could his medicine cat be seeing?

"They should of but they didn't. There were no signs of cats," Rainlight murmured, shaking her head. "It makes no sense at all." She looked up from her paws and was startled at the level of interest in the toms eyes regarding her dreams. He was the leader afterall and they all relied on their medicine cat's connection with StarClan. "It's almost as if I'm lost," she told him, her eyes sad and distant," There's this fog all around me but I can just make out cats from FrostClan. It's like a wall seperating me from everybody else, I can barely see anything. Everybody is just walking along, their heads and tails down. I can't recognise any of our landscapes so I've figured that we must be in another territory." A cold breeze ruffled her fur and she looked away, staring out across the camp. StarClan was trying to warn her but what for, she didn't know.

"That's a little...scary," he admitted, nervously flicking his tail across his own flank. "I have no idea what it might mean--I'm no medicine cat, anyways--but it seems like a 'new territory' sort of thing would be more relevant to AquaClan than us, right? I mean, Icestar just kicked them out last Gathering and now they have nowhere to go. I think it was a little mean of her. They probably got more food with forty-something cats in BeachClan territory than we do here and now." Whitestar paused, still holding his tail to his side. "That didn't have anything to do with what you just said, did it?"

Rainlight shook her head. "I know nothing of what will happen to AquaClan. I'm sure StarClan will guide Moonstream and help her Clan find a new home." She yawned and turned back to her den. "In the meantime, I will look after Foxflame and hopefully find out more at the medicine cat meeting."
{Short. I'm assuming this is before the medicine cat meeting. I'll make another board for FrostClan, with Rainlight telling the Clan about her dream. }
