Skylight walked into camp with Whitestar at her side, with fresh kill in their jaws. Skylight had recently caught the prey. She trotted into the warriors den. "Here, lets just feed the warriors right now." She suggested. The black-and-white she-cat padded into the meduim sized den. Her figure easily slid through the entrace. She looked behind her shoulder to make sure Whitestar was behind her. She loved Whitestar, and she couldn't last very long without seeing his pleasent eye color.

Whitestar followed Skylight back into the den, stepping through the tangle of roots as easily as she did. "Anyone hungry?" he meowed, dropping the prey on the den's floor. "We caught some prey and decided to offer it to you all in here first because it will freeze if it's left out for very long." He purred and brushed his tail along Skylight's flank. He noticed that he still had glittering snow crystals frozen in his fur, but he thought nothing of it. Being a FrostClanner from birth made one used to such things.

Skylight felt frozen as she dropped her fresh-kill in the middle of the den. She collasped once she was standing over her moss bed. Letting out a sigh she started licking her shoulders swiftly. Trying to warm herself she lit up the den with a low purr. "Sit down Whitestar." She smiled eagerly at him and went back to licking off the snow.

Whitestar sat down and surveyed the den regally before lowering his head and coughing. "Is anyone even here?" he mewed quizically. "I bet the rest of the clan is in the elders' den, being warm and listening to Bluepool rant about the cold and how she wishes there were still some apprentices for her to torment." He fluffed his pelt and lied down, resting his head on his paws and tucking his tail around himself.

Skylight jumped up and padded next to Whitestar. She connected her pelt to his. Her rough tounge rasped around his shoulders. "Want to eat?" Her said between licks. Her white tail tip laid on Whitestar's shoulder once she was done grooming it and moving to his cheeks. "You seem too cold. Eat something, please." She purred. Her warm tounge licked his white cheeks and hopefully warmed his face.

"Okay," Whitestar meowed, plucking a mouse off of the top of the pile. "You should eat too." He was the type of cat who wouldn't let any cat in his clan go without eating, no matter how much they insisted that they weren't hungry. Or no matter how hungry he was, for that matter. "Nobody else is going to claim any food...at least, not yet." There'll always be more to eat...right? Right? ...No. It's not my job to be uncertain. Why do I have so many questions? I'm the leader!

Skylight streched to grab the only cardinal from the pile. She noticed Whitestar getting worried. "Calm down, there's nothing to worry about." She purred. She dug her teeth into the red bird's neck. Then she noticed she would have a mouth full of feather while talking to her mate. Swallowing a chunk of the bird she yawned. "Are you tired, I'm not." She wanted to stay up and talk to Whitestar, who could she sleep if she couldn't hear his sweet tone?

"Not really," Whitestar meowed, tearing a small chunk of meat from the mouse's flank. He chewed thoughtfully for a moment before talking to Skylight again. "Uh..." The leader paused briefly, searching for a topic to strike a conversation on. "I wonder how much longer Blackleaf and Flaxeyes will be in BeachClan. It's been a while...have you seen him since he left?" It was the only obvious thing that didn't concern himself or his worries; Blackleaf was Skylight's brother, after all.

Skylight paused. "No, not actually, he said atleast a day after her kits were born." She whispered. She dug out more meat from the bird, She chewed slowly. Maybe it we take a patrol and get to Fourtrees by sunhigh, we can probably meet him there from everyday till he comes back?" Her suggestion made her paws ache. Most of those patrols would be regular patrols then hunting patrols at the same time. The clan could only eat about a mouse a day. It was hard for the clan, atleast they had shelter?

Whitestar nodded. "At least you'll be reunited with him soon enough..." He paused and let his voice trail off before continuing to talk. "I don't know. He's a medicine cat and I don't think he'd be patrolling a lot. Fourtrees is a long ways away from camp and we don't have a lot of prey right now." The leader twined his tail with Skylight's and sighed. "You don't have to worry. If anything were to happen to any of them, I'm sure Icestar would send someone right away to tell us."

Skylight smiled. "She will do anything to help her son." She purred. "My mother loves other cats, but she wants to hide that to look like a real leader." She let out another sigh. "She has her reasons." She looked at her paws. She looked at Whitestar and smiled. "I promise, she has her reasons." Skylight let out a purr. Then her white muzzle buried back into her bird.

"She hides it well," Whitestar meowed softly. He wasn't about to let Skylight know how scared he was of her mother. As she ate, he took another small bite of his mouse and chewed slowly, letting his mind wander into some sort of abyss. He swallowed and shook his head quickly to clear his thoughts. The silence felt slightly awkward to him, but he was with Skylight! Nothing was wrong.

Skylight looked at Whitestar. "I know you're afraid of her, but I promise, she wouldn't do anything to hurt you," she meowed. Skylight tubbed her pelt against Whitestar and purred. The rumble in her throat was conforting. The black and white she-cat closed her eyes and liad her head on top of his shoudlers.

"We're clan leaders, first and foremost," he meowed softly to himself. Whitestar couldn't help but smile. Skylight's pelt was so warm and comforting; her scent was so sweet. A nice relief from the smell of the cold and of old moss, the leader thought. There were a lot of things he should be thinking of for the well-being of FrostClan, but thinking wasn't really on his agenda right now.

"Get some rest." Skylight meowed. She pushed closer to Whitestar, she put her nose into his shoulder fur and started purring. "I'll get a patrol together." She whispered softly. The she-cat got to her paws slowly. She walked into the clearing, it was silent. Sadly the sent was stale other than hers and Whitestar's. The black-and-white she-cat walked into the elder's den. "Anyone in here?" Her voice was no more than a whisper.

Deep in the warrior's den, a pair of green eyes opened slowly, sleep still clouding them. The owner of the eyes rose her head, turning it in the direction of the voice she had heard. Skylight? She wondered. Letting out a quick yawn, the she-cat uncurled from the tight circle she had been in. Until recently, Cricketsong had been taking a quick nap. These days, with the wind howling through the camp, it was hard to get a decent night's sleep. Between restless nights and busy days, she had quickly become exausted. After a long stretch to loosen stiff muscles, the warrior left the warrior's den. The clearing was calmer than normal; the wind had died down, and there didn't seem to be many cats around. Noticing how cold it was, Cricketsong puffed up her thick coat of grey, black, and brown fur before opening her jaws in another yawn. "Skylight?" She called, voice echoing around the deserted camp.

Skylight turned around quick as a flash. "Oh Cricketsong, you scared me!" Her tone was shocking. "Want to help gather up a patrol? Whitestar's probably going to take a nap and I said I'll lead it for him." The she-cat stretched and flicked her tail. "We're going to go to fourtrees from the Rainclan border, maybe Blackleaf would be there to come back to camp." She couldn't wait to see her brother again, but the medicine cat said he wouldn't come back until Flaxeyes' kits were born. The Frostclan queen had been staying in Beachclan to help feed kits, but now, she can't leave for about another moon or so.

Cricketsong let out an amused purr. It seemed everyone in FrostClan was on edge lately. She supposed it was from Leaf-bare, but she wasn't quite sure. Letting her tail trace the very tip of the icy ground that was still covered in frost in some places, the she-cat shivered. They would have to make it quick; temperatures still weren't very pleasant. "Of course Skylight!" She replied, her voice chirpy and happy.

"Can you help me find everyone, we've scrambled everyone up into all different dens because most of them or either small or not warm." Skylight smirked a smile. "Maybe someone who has been sleeping all day." The black and white she-cat sat down. "The cold isn't too cold today, but it will be cold, mine as well get this patrol rolling until dusk comes, unless these furballs are all sleeping!" She got a sharp tone, she was the one who did things anymore here.

Cricketsong dipped her head, her nose nearly touching the cool ground. She knew Skylight was right; some of the warriors needed to do things. However, the cold made minds unwilling to move about more than was needed. "You're right. Better now before it gets even colder. Then cats won't even think about going." She meowed, nodding. "I'll help find some cats that have been sleeping." She added.

Skylight blinked her eyes in thanks and walked over to the nursery. It was where Whitestar was sleeping. She walked in and put her tail tip of his nose. "Sweet dreams." She purred. She loved Whitestar and wanted to make sure he was okay. He felt warm enough, not freezing. But once she came back from the patrol he had to be woken up, so he didn't get that sleeping sickness that killed off two leaders in a row.

Cricketsong padded toward the warrior's den, her eyes closing to slits as the icy wind swirled around her sensitive ears and face. After a few moments of this she ducked her head and entered the dark warrior's den. Feeling comforted by the sounds of sleeping cats around her, the warrior turned her head to and fro. It was hard to tell who was who with this cloak of darkness. "Hello?" She called, sitting down. Maybe if she tried to just wake a couple....Yes. That's what she'd do.
