Heavy gray paws crunched over the frost covered ground. Water droplets on Rainlight's pelt glinted in the moonlight as she walked. She paused briefly at the entrance into camp and sighed sadly, looking up to the stars. "Oh, StarClan! How am I meant to tell them?" Her eyes searched the sky but on recieving no sign, she lowered her head and entered FrostClan's home. All was quiet apart from the faint stirring of bodies in their dens. With a heavy heart, Rainlight stood outside the warrior's den and called out softly to Whitestar. Their leader had yet to establish his own den. "Whitestar!" she meowed," Please wake. I have news..." She wished so badly that she didn't.
{This is Rainlight's warning regarding BeachClan's invasion. Foxflame has already left to BeachClan so this is early... :/ }

Blackleaf heard Rainligt's voice. "Rainlight?" His voice was no more than a whisper. He got to his paws slowly. He walked to the entrance of the den and poked his head out. Maybe she's in a den or something. He walked into the clearing and stretched.
Skylight woke as she heard the medicine speak. She was sleeping next to her white, fluffy mate. "Whitestar." She nudged him slightly. The black and white she-cat blinked slowly and nugded him once more and sighed.

Whitestar yawned, stretched, and got to his feet. He gave Skylight a quick smile and then turned his attention to Rainlight. "This is bad news, isn't it?" he asked with a sigh. "Not that I blame you for it, of course...it's just that...well, I don't really like bad news." The leader gave his paw a quick lick before glancing up at his medicine cat again, ready to hear what she had to say.

Rainlight nodded meekly and glanced quickly over her shoulder. "Over here Blackleaf," she called quietly, not wanting to wake anymore cats. She took a deep breath and turned back to Whitestar to explain what she had been told. "I've recieved a warning from StarClan that there shall be a battle of some sort. The greater shall defeat the lesser than roles shall reverse, I think that's what Daisy said. The snow will be stained scarlet with blood." It was only now did Rainlight realise that she was trembling all over. "Oh Whitestar! What are we going to do?" she meowed mournfully.

Blackleaf heard Rainlight's soft voice. He followed it all the way to Whitestar's den. He poked his head in and all he heard was the words, 'snow will be stained scarlet.' "Oh my." He whispered. "That's terrible." Skylight wimpered. "We should build onto the elder's den, so Bluepool won't be found during the battle. And what about Flaxeyes? She's still in Beachclan." "That would be a good thing. The kits will be safe from harm." Blackleaf meowed. "Do you know what clan is attacking?" Skylight's eyes were round and curious.

Whitestar's ears flicked back in alarm at Rainlight's grim news. "A battle," he sighed. "We're probably 'the lesser'...but who would be 'the greater?' At least it'll change. What was that about snow? Does that mean it's going to get cold or that it will take place soon before the last of the snow has melted? Or is it metaphorical, referring to..." He glanced down at his white pelt, and his eyes widened ever so slightly in shock. "Anyways. I think we should try and keep our warriors healthy so we have a chance of all getting out of this alive. I'm sure that Mom'll have no problem fighting if she's able to. All she needs are some herbs so that she can walk and stuff. Not so sure about Whitewhisker; I'll have to ask him. And Cloudpaw and Amberpaw could use some more training...am I starting to ramble again?" Whitestar looked at Rainlight with obvious fear in his pink eyes.

Rainlight shook her head miserably. She didn't know any of the answers to her fellow Clan members' questions. "The only thing Daisy said that would help is for Whitestar to practise some diplomacy skills and that Flaxeyes should remain in BeachClan," she told them. She sighed again and looked over to the Elder's den. "We should probably have Cloudpaw and Amberpaw lead the two of them away from FrostClan camp if that's where this battle is going to be. We should try and prevent deaths," the medicine cat meowed softly.

"Diplomacy," Whitestar meowed with a sigh. "But why? Am I going to have to try and stop this war or what?" He nodded grimly at Rainlight's last words and also glanced at the elders' den. "Yeah. I'll make sure that our border with BeachClan is heavily patrolled and that Mom, Whitewhisker, and the apprentices are ready to go with a second's notice. The rest of us are gonna have to fight for FrostClan--and for our lives." The tom sighed and looked at the ground for a moment. "I've been Whitestar for a few seasons now and I guess that my first real challenge as leader is finally here..."

"I'm sorry," Rainlight told her leader, hanging her head,"I have no idea what it means." Her grey eyes were a pool of grief as the idea of losing her home and Clan dawned upon her. Whitestar was right. They would be fighting for their lives. The Elders and apprentices would be able to escape harm but the rest would be left to defend their home and the BeachClan warriors -for she was sure they were the threat- had stronger warriors of greater numbers. "At least Flaxeyes is safe for now. Perhaps that is where diplomacy comes in?" Rainlight meowed, looking to Blackleaf. Would he ever see his kits again?

"It's alright. I don't know either," admitted Whitestar, looking at his paws. "I'm not sure about the diplomacy part. I thought it would have something to do with stopping the battle, but that doesn't sound like that's gonna happen.... You're probably right or pretty close to it. This is just too hard to figure out. StarClan is too smart for their own good." He sighed again and flicked his tail with an air of hopelessness.

Rainlight nodded. She knew exactly how the leader was feeling; Hopeless. There wasn't anything she could think of that would help them understand their situation. But FrostClan would not go down without a fight! "We must make preparations," she told the cats. "If we increase the patrols we may have a better chance."

Whitestar nodded. "Definitely. I'll take Cloudpaw on a patrol with me and I'll see if Fernpool is willing to bring Amberpaw along. We need to get some more training with the apprentices done. Can you make sure that the elders are getting some herbs for their joints or whatever bothers them?" He was rather uninformed of the ailments that plague older cats, as he was still fairly young himself. "Thanks, Rainlight. I'm glad that you have all the experience I haven't had time to get."

Rainlight nodded and dipped her head out of respect to the young leader. "You're doing fine," she told him. "I'll have a talk with the Elders later and get a large stock of herbs ready." She turned her head to Blackleaf glad that he was here to help. She wasn't as young as she used to be and if this battle was as bad as she feared, she'ld be ran off her feet. "Blackleaf, you should practise your training too. Flaxeyes only taught you the bare minimum," Rainlight told him. She wouldn't know what to do if she lost him. As much as he annoyed her, she did have a bond of some sort with him. He was her apprentice after all.

Blackleaf nodded. "Who should train me?" He said softly. "I can help in a way." Skylight appeared next to the black tom. "It could be some work, but I'll kick him in shape." Her voice was serious. Blackleaf turned to his sister. "Your joking right? I hope you're one of the best warriors. If not, I'll get someone else to train me." He let out a false choke. Skylight smiled. Dad. Wait, but we might be fighting him. That's horrible! She nudged him. "No, I'll do it." She sneered. "Come on, we can go to the training hollow now." She meowed.
ooc; I'll make a board there and roleplay by myself.
