Shore slowly sat up and stared at Rainlight. "I'll tell you. So, Cloudpaw and I had just woken up and we went out here to talk to Blackleaf, Skylight and Fernpool. Fernpool leaned into me and told me, 'Stay away from Cloudpaw for now.' I told her that he's my best friend," she paused, "And I won't leave him just for her. She got mad and tackled me." She turned her gaze away from Rainlight and to Whitestar.

Whitestar sighed, exasperated. I hope they can get along all right. I don't want to have to switch her mentor. "Uhm. This is rather...hard to figure out. I don't really know what to--help, Mom!" He noticed Bluepool, who was placidly sitting down and licking her paw as the scene unfolded around her. "What am I supposed to do?" the elder demanded. "Aren't you the leader?" "Yes, but I sort of have no idea on how to sort this out." "All right." Stiffly, she stood and padded over to Amberpaw so that she was looking the apprentice in the eye. "Why did she tell you to stay away from Cloudpaw?"

Cloudpaw looked at Bluepool. "I think she's mad because she thinks she has no friends." He said softly. He looked at his paws. Then he smiled. Atleast Amberpaw didn't say that we loved each other. He didn't dare lifting his head to look at the other warriors. He knew Rainlight had told him to go to his den, but he wanted to make sure Amberpaw was okay.
Skylight barely caught what Cloudpaw had said. "She was giving me glares when I'm around you." She whispered to Whitestar. Once Bluepool jumped in, now this was getting out of paw. "Okay, Cloudpaw go to the apprentice's den, Bluepool, I'll take you to your den. We don't want the whole clan to be asking questions. Whitestar and Rainlight can take it from here."

Rainlight groaned and rose to her feet, swishing her tail angrily. "So Fernpool is jealous?!" she meowed loudly. "This is ridiculous! So just because you refused to give up hanging around Cloudpaw she attacks you? Mouse-brained!" The she-cat began walking around the group of cats, her grey eyes flashing. "Mouse-brained," she murmured again and louder," Stupid! Can Amberpaw not hang around with the cat she is so obviously in love with?!" Although neither apprentice had mentioned anything, is easy to see that they were more than friends and why. They'd left their homes together for this new world. They were each other's connection to what they left behind and there wasn't anything wrong with that.
{Sorry if you didn't want that leaked out but Rainlight is rather tactless xD}

Amberpaw gasped, eyes wide, and stared at the ground. How had Rainlight known about Amberpaw's love for Cloudpaw? She stared at the layer of snow that had blanketed the ground and groaned. "I don't love him." she lied, trying to make it sound as convincing as possible. She never looked at Whitestar or Rainlight and felt ashamed for lying to her leader. She hoped Cloudpaw hadn't heard and thought it was true.

"Exactly!" Bluepool yowled, ignoring Amberpaw's claim. The old she-cat stood and looked around imperially with a faint scowl on her face. "Rainlight is right. This whole thing is ridiculous! Fernpool should just relax about this whole thing. I didn't meet Icefoot until I was nearly fifty moons old and he died four seasons later! There's more to life than loving someone the way I loved him and Fernpool will be unhappy until she realizes that. She's got friends and that's all anyone should need. Am I right?" She sat down and made eye contact with Whitestar, who sheepishly nodded in agreement. He didn't like it when his mother started to rant.
Whitestar glanced nervously at the cats clustered around each other in camp. He wasn't quite sure what to do. Of course, he didn't see a problem with the two apprentices loving each other. I had been fancying Skylight since she was an apprentice, but I was barely six moons--if even that--older than her. Everything turned out fine and nobody lost their heads over that. I'm happy for them...but I wish there was something I could do to make Fernpool happier. "Hmmm."

Rainlight stared at Amberpaw with a look that said don't bother, we know. "There's nothing wrong with having a close relationship with Cloudpaw," she told the apprentice," As Bluepool said, you can fall in love at any age. We won't stop you." She turned her gaze back to Whitestar noticing that he seemed a little uncomfortable about the whole talk. "Shall someone fetch Fernpool?" she asked, knowing this would be the next step to take.

Skylight looked at the cats around her. She waited for someone to say something. She sat down and licked her paws. Then she noticed no one was talking. "Fine, I'll get her." She hissed. "Whitestar, care to come along?" She purred.

"All right," Whitestar meowed, getting to his feet and throwing a quick glance at Bluepool before padding over to his mate. He trusted that Rainlight would be able to keep everyone calm and prevent a riot from breaking out in camp. If she failed--which would be an unlikely occurrence--then there was always Bluepool. "Shall we go now? Maybe we can try and catch a squirrel or two on the way back. The snow is melting and the birds are returning."

Amberpaw looked at Whitestar. "Shouldn't we give her some time to chill out?" she questioned. "What if she's still angry? She didn't seem like she'd calm down soon." She licked a paw and swiped it over her ear. "Err, where'd Cloudpaw go?" she asked, stepping towards the nursery.

Skylight nodded to her mate. "Far enough." She purred. "No, Fernpool needs to get back to camp." The black and white she-cat's voice was faint. Her claws sank into the soft floor as she bared her teeth. Jeeze.There are way more important things to be doing than fixing this 'fight.'
"In here!" Cloudpaw purred. He poked his brown and white head out and smiled at Amberpaw.

Whitestar frowned. "Uhm. Well, she might have relaxed by the time we get out to see her. I don't know where Fernpool might've gone, although I'm assuming--I'm hoping that she hasn't left the territory." Icestar and the rest of BeachClan were already on bad terms with him and he didn't want a trespasser to make things worse. He had a funny feeling that his mother-in-law would not be very forgiving to an honest mistake. "Let's go."
{{Mother-in-law! xD}}

"Okay," mumbled Amberpaw to Whitestar and Skylight. "I'd best stay out of her way when she gets back." She turned to Cloudpaw and licked his ear. With a sigh, she turned towards the apprentices' den and slowly entered. She motioned with her tail for Cloudpaw to follow.

"Good luck with getting Fernpool," Rainlight called out to Whitestar. Hopefully the she-cat had calmed down enough to return to camp and have a civilised discussion regarding her behaviour. Amberpaw and Fernpool would just have to get along. The apprentice was new to the Clan and everybody was still getting to know her. There would be disagreements along the way but things should smooth. StarClan willing Rainlight prayed silently.
