Whitestar walked back and forth under the Highbranch for about a minute. He was trying to trample the snow down so that he would be able to leap up on the snow-covered branch hanging over the warriors' den with greater ease. When he decided that the ground was level enough, the skinny albino tom sprang up. His paws wrapped around the branch but they scrabbled on the ice under the snow, making him quickly lose his grip. In the split second of falling time he had, Whitestar twisted himself over so he almost landed on his feet. The leader sighed and trampled the snow down a little more before trying to leap up again. This time, he succeeded in keeping his hold on the branch and sat there with poise as he called, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highbranch for a clan meeting!" The majority of Whitestar's focus was dedicated to remaining on the branch while he waited for his clan to assemble.
ooc: For my own reference. Shore will be Amberpaw and Ralf will be Cloudpaw, correct? I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He/she would like to become a warrior of CLAN NAME HERE, but must first become an apprentice. KIT NAME HERE, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as KIT'S APPRENTICE NAME. WARRIOR TO MENTOR will mentor you.

Ralf walked out of the nursery slowly. "Shore, I think we should come out. Whitestar I think wants to talk." He purred to his love. He padded into the clearing, the snow was freezing his soft pads. He was happy to now be a part of the clan. He was actually able to get away from the housefolks that had treated him well, but now, the clan and their medicine cat could take well care of him. Skylight padded into the clearing gracefully. She smiled as she saw cats starting to gather, with Whitestar safely on the Highbranch. She remembers when he fell trying to get into the tree. Silly Whitestar. She loved the leader, she wished that he could live forever leading Frostclan as well as he does now.

Shore meowed, "Okay!" She padded out and licked Ralf's ear. She looked up at Whitestar questioningly and meowed, in Ralf's ear, "I wonder what he'll say." She turned to look at Skylight, but decided not to. She stayed right beside Ralf, looking around with a scared expression on her face.

Ralf smiled at Shore and let out a purr. "You two will get your apprentice names today." Skylight's sweet voice made Ralf jump. He became excited at once. "I can't wait!" He then gave her chest two swift licks. "We're getting our apprentice names!" Ralf squealed. He then rubbed his muzzle against Shore's and purr once more.

Whitestar cleared his throat and leapt down from the Highbranch, this time landing on his feet, causing a spray of snow to fly up from the landing site. He first walked over to Shore, looked her in the eye, and uttered the ceremonial words. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. She would like to become a warrior of FrostClan, but must first become an apprentice. Shore, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Amberpaw. Fernpool will mentor you." He dipped his head to the she-cat and waited for her mentor to come forward and touch noses with her.

Doveheart watched as Shore was named an apprentice - Amberpaw - and waited for Cricketsong to touch noses with the new apprentice. She frowned when she thought about her own apprentice ceremony, but smiled when she thought of her warrior ceremony. Everyone had cheered for her, for she had broken out of her protective shell. And now she was here, a happy Clanner with friends, a great warrior, and someone who she knew was a potential mate. Don't go too far into the future, Doveheart. It might end badly. She shook that thought from her mind and continued to wait.

((Now I'll have to get used to calling her Amberpaw!))
Amberpaw came forward and touched noses with Cricketsong and backed away. It felt weird to be touching noses with someone who she just met. She looked around the gathered cats and felt a surge of joy. It felt wonderful to be in the clan, even though there was suspicious looks all around.

Firetail sat in front of the warriors' den watching the ceremony. Goldenleaf sat beside her, her eyes fixed on the ceremony. Firetail remembered when she was named an apprentice. They'll turn out well. Even if they were kittypets. She sighed. Two more mouths to feed though. She put that thought away and listened to what Whitestar was saying. I always liked apprentice ceremonies. You can see the great amount of excitement in their eyes. Goldenleaf thought. As she waited for Whitestar to continue she carefully watched Amberpaw's face as the joy danced around in her eyes. Flamestep sat by the entrance to the camp. She was glad that there were going to be two new apprentices but she wanted to go out and hunt. She watched the ceremony intently as she waited.

Whitestar smiled at the apprentices and waited a moment before turning to Ralf. Again, he meowed: "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He would like to become a warrior of FrostClan, but must first become an apprentice. Ralf, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Cloudpaw. I, Whitestar, will mentor you." He took a small step forward to touch noses with his new apprentice. "Congratulations to the both of you. Welcome to FrostClan."

Rainlight sat just outside the medicine cat den, watching ceremony with wary eyes. These 'new apprentices' wouldn't be any use to them this leaf-bare, they would just be another mouth to feed. Could they cope with the snow and wind or would they be running back to their twolegs before the season was over? She sighed, shaking her head, and slipped back into her den. I better check my herb supplies so I know I'll have something when they get sick.

Bluepool had been listening from inside her den. Her joints were a bit stiff today and she didn't want to have to get up and trek through the snow just to watch an apprentice ceremony. Been there, done that. However, she was worried about the prey supply. "Doesn't he know what he's doing?" she murmured to herself. "We barely have enough food to feed the clan as it is, and when Flaxeyes comes back...I'll be giving him and those two kittypets a good talking-to when this is over." Although the mother-son resemblance between Bluepool and Whitestar was obvious, most cats were surprised at how different their personalities were.

Ralf, now Cloudpaw, smiled. He was excited about joining Frostclan. He touched noses to his new mentor. "Thank you." He said. Cloudpaw then walked up to Shore, now Amberpaw. "Congrats, Amberpaw." He smiled. He wanted to lick her cheek, but not in front of all the clan cats, he was too young to take a mate right now. Cloudpaw sat down and licked his white chest quickly. "Amberpaw, I'm so excited!" he purred. Skylight walked up to the two apprentices. "Hello! Welcome to Frostclan. You two will be staying in the nursery until Flaxeyes comes back, so make yourselves comfortable. Then Skylight jerked her head. Ralf's medium length of pelt was covering something. It was a blue color. "Here, you need that to be taken off." She grumbled. She grabbed at the collar with a fierce pull, until it snapped. "Good, now your fully a Frostclan member." She dropped the collar and kicked dirt on top of it. Cloudpaw looked at his collar, now covered in dirt. I can't just forget about my twolegs! He needed to keep his collar, maybe he could give it to Maddie? To keep in memories of him?

Amberpaw yowled in happiness, then looked at Cloudpaw. He was staring at his collar. "You don't need that, Cloudpaw." she meowed, hoping he wasn't considering going back to his twolegs. She gulped and looked down at the ground, avoiding the eyes of other cats. You can't leave, Cloudpaw! she thought, not understanding that he didn't want to leave.

Edit by Tiger: Post nullified at Sarah's request. Fernpool came out of the warriors den. Oops! I missed their ceremonies. Darn! she thought, scrunching up her nose. She looked at the two 'new apprentices' and noticed the tabby one didn't look too happy. Fernpool walked over to her and meowed, "What's wrong, Amberpaw?" She remembered hearing their names being called, but never came out. Oh well!

ooc: Sarah, would you be interested in having Fernpool mentor Amberpaw? We can just pretend that she didn't miss the ceremony. (:

ooc: Fine with me! Fernpool would love an apprentice! Erase last post.
bic: Fernpool leaned down to touch noses with Amberpaw. The apprentice was small. I wonder if she'll stand a leaf-bare here! she thought with a snort. "Welcome to FrostClan, Amberpaw! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here!" she meowed and went to sit with the gathered cats. Once she sat, she motioned with her tail for Amberpaw to follow.

((So..Fernpool will be Amberpaw's mentor?))
Amberpaw touched noses with Fernpool, then went to sit with her. She sat and wrapped her short tail around her cold paws. She looked at Cloudpaw, longingly. In her mind she thought, Don't leave, Cloudpaw! I need you! She lowered her gaze from Cloudpaw, still thinking that he wanted to go back to his twolegs. "I guess I will enjoy it here." Amberpaw replied, thinking, Only if Cloudpaw stays.

Cloudpaw looked at Amberpaw. "I know I don't need it, but it has too many memories. Maybe if Maddie will keep it, so she can remember me?" He smiled at Shore and pretended not to look sad. Cloudpaw yowled in happiness too. His yowl rang the whole camp. Skylight walked over to Whitestar. "They'll make wonderful apprentices. And soon to come warriors!" She purred. She pushed her muzzle against her mates and smiled.
ooc; Just a random question? When is Beachclan attacking them?

ooc: Yes...and hopefully, soon. c: There'll be no fun in a long, perilous journey if it's during the nice spring weather.
bic: Whitestar nodded. "They want to learn. That's what matters. We'll be stretching the food thin, but I think we can pull through." He licked Skylight's cheek, purring softly.
Bluepool managed to get herself out of the elders' den and promptly stumped over to her son. "Do you know what you just did?!" she hissed, keeping her voice low so nobody else would hear. "We're on the brink of starvation here and you go and accept two kittypets into the clan!"
"Mom!" he moaned. "That means more warriors in the long run--and it means you'll have someone to change your moss..." He looked at Bluepool, smiling sheepishly.
The she-cat rolled her blue eyes. "Mmmhmm. Send them into my den whenever they have a spare moment. We need to have a bit of a talk on how clan life works." She glanced over at the warrior accompanying Whitestar. "Oh, and hello, Skylight, dear." She seemed to know about their relationship, but she would have found out anyways. With that, Bluepool turned around and padded back into her den.

Skylight kept her mouth shut until Bluepool walked away. Then she burst out into laughter. "I love your mom, she's so funny." She purred and brushed her tail onto Whitestar's flank. "They'll love to learn, and they don't have a lot of kittypet life in them, the tom knows most about the way we work, and I think he learn it from his mother. The other one, will be stubborn though." She could read most cats like any piece of prey. Nice a juicy, or small and stringy? Skylight shrugged.

"She can be a bit...Bluepoolish," Whitestar added, half-smiling. "I trust them, though. They seem a bit young to get all mixed up in BurntClan and if they wanted to attack us, they would've waited till they were older. Two apprentices can't destroy a clan." He fluffed his pelt and looked over at the dwindling fresh-kill pile, expression slightly dulling as the food problem crossed his mind once more.

Skylight smiled. "Of course! She is always being herself, but herself, is always bluepoolish....." The black and white she-cat streched out. "Should we organize a hunt patrol? Fresh kill pile is going low again." She meowed. Ralf looked up at the sky. Overcast, just like the twoleg place. The only thing he missed of his twolegs was his mother.
