Whitestar yawned and padded up to the tree that made up the warriors' den. He gathered all the strength in his muscles to leap up on to a thick branch that hung partially over camp. Since Amberstar died, he had elected to use the branch instead of the Highpile, which was merely a heap of twoleg rubbish. Most of the Highpile had blown away during the green-lead storms anyways. So the leader cleared his throat and yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath Highbranch for a Clan meeting!" He flicked his tail and waited for the Clan to gather. Bluepool slunk out of the elders' den and sat down in her usual spot, near the warriors.
ooc// Rest of ceremony: Whitestar: I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Skypaw, do you promise to follow the warrior code and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life? Skypaw: I do. Whitestar: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Skypaw, from this day forth you will be known as Skylight. StarClan honors your determination and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FrostClan.

Dashfoot stumbled from the warriors' den, yawning. Well, what could this be? He padded into the clearing, looking up. Skypaw's warrior ceremony. Of course! He couldn't wait to see her become a warrior at last. He glanced around, and settled down, waiting for the the ceremony to begin.
<ooc> I just realized I hadn't roleplayed him yet... 0.o Sorreh! </ooc>

Skypaw walked out of the apprentice's den. What's going on? she thought to herself. Is there something wrong? she thought..... Blackleaf came out from the camp entrance, he had a mouth full of herbs in his mouth. He walked up to Skypaw and sat his herbs down. "I heard, clan meeting, I was just gathering just outside of camp," he purred. Skypaw just smiled.
ooc; Her Warrior name is Skylight, unless you can think of something diiferent.

Whitestar glanced around to make sure that all of his Clan was present. ((They're not...but I want to get this thing over with. ^^; )) He coughed again to clear his throat again and spoke. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." At this point, he leapt down from the Highbranch and padded up to the black-and-white apprentice. "Skypaw, do you promise to follow the warrior code and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
ooc: I can't think of anything else; Skylight sounds good.

Skypaw's eyes shined in the moonlight. Finally this is my chance! she thought, excited. "I do," she meowed loudly and proud. She looked at her brother. Blackleaf smiled at his sister. It's like she's trying to tell me something, he thought. Yay! I've finally earned my warrior name! I can't wait! Mom will be so proud! Skypaw thought, as if she were saying it to him.

"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name," Whitestar meowed, smiling. The first warrior ceremony I've conducted! I hope she likes her name... "Skypaw, from this day forth you will be known as Skylight. StarClan honors your determination and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FrostClan." He rested his muzzle on top of her head as a leader always was to do after the ceremony.

Doveheart watched as the black and white she-cat finally became warrior. Skypaw-I mean Skylight-definitely deserved it, she thought. She padded closer to the Clan, watching as Whitestar rested his muzzle on Skylight's head.
Cinderflame stayed near the back of the group of cats surrounding the new warrior. He twitched his whiskers. I should go and congratulate her... the gray warrior thought, but he backed up even more, straying farther away from being the normal warrior he wanted to be. He shook himself, forcing himself to pad closer to the Clan, finding himself beside Bluepool.

Skylight jumped up on the high rock and blinked slowly. She smiled her thanks and felt confort as Whitestar put his muzzle on her head. She whispered "thanks," into her leaders ear. She licked his cheek and jumped down from the rock. Blackleaf shouted her name loudly, "Skylight! Skylight!" Skypaw smiled as she heard her brother shouting. She ran up to her brother. Without saying a word she rapped her head around his. Blackleaf rested his head on top of her shoulder. He closed his eyes and smiled.

Whitestar smiled faintly. "Welcome," he meowed before slinking into the crowd and joining their chant. "Skylight! Skylight!" The chorus of voices was splendid. From Bluepool's glass-breaking yowl to his own somewhat deeper tone, they were all saying teh same thing for the same reason: congratulating a new warrior. They were as good as any clan, as good as any unrelated family. A smirk spread across Bluepool's face. Things were coming full circle. FrostClan will be great again. It will. IT WILL!

Doveheart joined into the chant, yowling out, "Skylight, Skylight!" She stopped, padding up to the new warrior. "Congratulations. How does it feel to be a warrior?" she said softly. She lightly swatted her with her tail, then let the other warriors congratulate Skylight as well.
Cinderflame stayed back, quietly saying "Skylight, Skylight!" with the others. He let the Clan go before him, congratulating her in his head instead of in person. He sat down, watching. FrostClan will be OK...

Dashfoot ran forward with the rest of the clan, calling Skylight's name and going to congratulate her. "Skylight! It's great that we have a new warrior!" He called, smiling. As he let his voice sound amongst the group of cats surrounding the new warrior, he took note of Cinderflame, who seemed to be waiting behind the others. He remembered how disconnected from the rest of the clan he'd always seemed. Because his father was a kittypet? He thought. We have that in common, but... we're different. He pulled back from the others, and headed toward the young grey warrior. "Cinderflame! Aren't you going to go talk to Skylight, too?"

Flaxeyes beamed with pride. Her apprentice was a warrior! She cheered Sklight's name as loud as she could possibly manage. She bounded over to the group, her pawsteps heavy. It wasn't her large build that caused her to be slightly more heavier than other cats. She was expecting kits. I wonder if Whitestar had guessed and that's why he gave Skylight her ceremony now? "Skylight," she purred, touching her nose to the she-cat's. "Congratulations!"
"Ah," Rainlight murmured as she watched. "Skylight is our new warrior. Flaxeyes must be pleased." She wasn't talking to anyone in particular, just sitting outside her den sorting piles of borage.

Cinderflame looked up when the voice came toward him. It was Dashfoot. "Uh, I'll wait until everyone's finished. I don't really like crowds," he murmured. He wrapped his tail around his paws, watching the excited warriors, elders, and queens, fussing over Skylight. He remembered when that should have been him. "Go ahead and congratulate her. I'm fine."
"Congratulations, Skylight," she whispered in her ear before shrinking out of the mess. She smoothed down her fur and sat back and watched. It was a yowling pit of cats, all pouncing on newly named Skylight. She sighed, and began washing herself while the Clan cheered their success.

"I've just been talking to her." Dashfoot smiled. "Isn't it great that she's finally a warrior? We're getting so many more these days... It hasn't been too long since your own ceremony, you know." He wrapped his tail around his paws. More than anything, Dashfoot wanted to help the young warrior to feel included; he could easily empathize with him.

Cinderflame nodded. But at that point the Clan hadn't cheered him on. Hadn't..congratulated him. To them, he was a burden. "Yes, Skylight has been ready for this for a long time," he muttered. He looked at Skylight and the other Clan cats again, shuddering slightly at the amount of cats bombarding her. "I don't want to add to that. Once the excitement's over, I'll go up and congratulate her."

"No?" Dashfoot meowed softly. "Well, okay then." Maybe he's shy around big groups of cats. Dashfoot was quite the opposite of that - having been held away from other cats during his kithood, he longed for the companionship of others. "Is something bothering you?" he asked.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior name. Cinderpaw, from this moment on you'll be known as Cinderflame. FrostClan honors your determination and strength and we welcome you as a full warrior of FrostClan." Amberstar (ooc:I believe it was Amberstar but correct me if I'm wrong...Maybe it was Oceanstar or somethin'...) rested her muzzle on Cinderflame's head. He licked her shoulder and turned toward the Clan, pride shining in his eyes. He was met by silence. Suddenly, a voice erupted from the motionless Clan. "Cinderflame! Cinderflame!" Rainflower called out. Then Dashfoot and a couple others jumped into the chant. The rest of the Clan begrudgingly joined in. But nothing could shake the feeling as pelts brushed against his that the Clan didn't want him here...
Cinderflame shook his head, focusing his dazed eyes back on Dashfoot. "What, did you say something?" He searched his mind for the fragments of the conversation him and Dashfoot were sharing. "Oh, no, no, no. I'm OK." The gray tom bit his tongue softly, telling himself, Shut up, you mousebrain! You're just making yourself look like a fool!

<ooc> I know that the clan persecuted Cinderflame due to his heritage, but it would have gone against Dashfoot's personality to do so. He believes strongly that all cats should be treated equally, and this is influenced partly by the fact that he's the kit of a rogue and a kittypet himself. </ooc>
Dashfoot's eyes were full of concern. "Seriously, what's wrong?" he asked, forgetting that he probably shouldn't be diving into other cats' buisiness. "If you're shy or something, we can go up and talk to her together." It was hard to tell exactly what was bothering the tom - Dashfoot tried to think about what had happened in the past few days. Is he annoyed because he didn't get to go to the gathering?

OOC: I'll edit it. I forgot that Dashfoot had been in the Clan at the time XD
BIC: Cinderflame shook his head, bowing it in shame. "Just...memories. Really, I'm fine." He looked at the swarm of cat gathering around Skylight. "My own warrior ceremony just wasn't exactly like this, I guess."

Dashfoot fell silent. Cinderflame's warrior ceremony, as he remembered, hadn't been so warm and welcoming as this was. He often became uncomfortable talking about cats about the events of their past - the main cause of the prejudice he'd always tried to avoid. Feeling ashamed at forcing Cinderflame to explain, he made a weak attempt to change the course of the conversation. "Hey, won't it be great to have Skylight in the same den as you again? You two were apprentices together."

Cinderflame noticed the attempt at changing the subject. He shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, it'll be nice. Though I don't think she'll really notice the difference..." he trailed off. He instantly felt bad. "But maybe I'll talk to her later."
