Icestar limped into Quietshadow's den. "I'm not quite sure what happened but I just know I've lost a life," she told Quietshadow.
"But my mother showed me something. Something that I wasn't to happy about." she meowed.
"Can someone get Tigerstripe, I need her to listen too," she told Quietshadow.
The black leader limped over to a moss bed and laid down. She waited.

Quietshadow nodded solemnly. "Well, from what I can tell, you were on the Highrock and were struck by lightning. Just wait for a second, please. I need to fetch Tigerstripe and Larchpaw." The black tom strode out of his den, yellow eyes glinting in his usual businesslike manner. He quickly returned, followed by Tigerstripe.
"Larchpaw is coming," she meowed. "You wanted to see me, Icestar?"

"Yes, sit down. I have a story." she started.
"Morningstar showed me a picture and said some words. The words and the picture made no sence with eachother. But I think I figured out what they mean." she meowed.
"I saw Quialkit in Aquaclan, training with one of their warriors. I didn't quite catch who the warrior was but it said 'I'm so happy you left Beachclan,' and then it started to fade away." she hissed.
Morningstar showed me another picture, but she said for my eyes only. So I can't tell you what it was. I became a little more happier. Then she told me the words. 'We are getting stronger and stronger, but others act like we aren't even here,' she told me. I'm not quite sure about the sayings but haven't you noticed at fourtrees that when your sitting by Frostclan territory it's a lot warmer, and Rainclan is a lot colder." she meowed.

Tigerstripe tilted her head. "What?" she meowed stupidly. "So she's saying that Quailkit likes AquaClan better and they like her better...and that FrostClan and RainClan have switched territories?"
Quietshadow frowned slightly. "It sounds like you'd be right about that first one. What Morningstar seems to be saying that although we're growing stronger, so is FrostClan. And apparently RainClan is weakening. However, nobody is noticing our strength. It might be because BeachClan is faring well, although we usually are. It's quite complicated." He paused to take a breath. "What do you think, Icestar?"

"I was thinking of getting the Rushing River back. It used to belong to us, long time ago, when I was just born." she told Tigerstripe. "To show Aquaclan that we're strong, they think not. So then the other clans could back away." she suggested.
"Frostclan was weak, until Whitefire became leader. Now they are gaining strength. We need to show them that we are right next to them but we are stronger." she hissed.
I hope we don't hurt Skypaw and Blackpaw. she thought scared.
She shook her black head and looked at Quietshadow sharply. "What did Starclan tell you at the medicine cat meeting?" she meowed calmly.

"It did?" Tigerstripe meowed, confused. "I thought it was just a border. You know, a no-cats' land. And none of the other Clans are giving us any trouble."
Quietshadow frowned. He didn't like unnecessecary battles, but understood that as medicine cat he didn't play any role in BeachClan's battle strategy. "Well, at the meeting, I was on a sand dune. Everything looked completely normal but the air seemed tense, as it is before a storm. I interpreted it to mean that tension within our Clan is rising, for I saw nothing else but BeachClan territory. Yet it felt so dangerous..." He decided not to mention the glimpse of his parents and Willowtail--that did not concern Icestar anyways.

"Hmm. I wonder. Frostclan is getting more powerful, Rainclan is getting weaker. Rainclan has some territory, but I don't really want to start battle. But I think it's the only thing that will show that we are hear. I want peace, but still." Icestar meowed.
"You do have a point that has to do with us rising but what does it mean?" she told herself.

Tigerstripe laughed dryly. "Peace through war," she meowed with a sardonic air.
"It means that, simply put, something isn't right." Quietshadow glanced up at the sky before continuing. "The greatest threat to BeachClan is something right here. It's hiding among our ranks and you can see it with every cat. Have you noticed everyone being a lot less friendly lately?"

Icestar nodded after Quietshadow stopped talking. "Well, definatly with Aquaclan, we used to be friends with them, now Jaystar has now just totally changed his mind, and now because of a stupid kit, a lot of cats were hurt." the black she-cat snarled.
Silentstep limped into the medicine cat's den. "I've heard everything, and I agree. It's not like WE are doing any harm by getting stronger. Every clan will get a little weaker in leafbare, while we still have greenleaf. That's when we shall be very strong." the old cat meowed.
The silver cat laid down. "My hip is hurting a little. Can you please put something on it." she meowed softly.

Coppertail stood in the entrance of the medicine cat den, trying to stifle another yawn. He scrunched up his eyes briefly as he tried to shake away his exhaustion. "Can I come in?" he asked," There's damage to some of the dens and I need to know what to do about Hazelwing and Brightsoul..." He could feel the tension in the air and wondered why there were so many cats in the small den. What is Silentstep and Tigerstripe doing in here? Tigerstripe has warrior duties and for an elder Silentstep is always getting involved in everything.

"Yes," Icestar meowed. "We are talking about something about Morningstar, she has sent me a message. Tigerstripe is here because she has to do with the dream and Silentstep is here because of her hip, it's bothering her." she told her. "Now I don't have the energy to get back to my den, you can sleep in there tonight. Hazelwing and Brightsoul will be up to you and Duskfur, to see if they can stay." she meowed. The leader was still a little confused and didn't know what she was talking about really.

"A message?" Coppertail echoed. He didn't bother to ask Icestar if she would tell it to him. After all he was only the deputy? He frowned and turned away, slightly upset he was being given the responsibilty of using Hazelwing's and Brightsoul's fate. She tells Tigerstripe the message but not me? Surely it's important. And what did she mean by 'you can sleep there tonight'? I think Quiteshadow has given her one too many poppyseeds. He sighed and padded over to Duskfur.

"Stupid?" Tigerstripe repeated, voice dangerously cold. She glared at Icestar.
Quietshadow nodded. "I'll get you some daisy leaves. Hang on." He trotted off to his den and returned with a few daisies clenched in his jaws. He set them down next to Silentstep and took a few steps back before sitting down.
