"And with a swipe of it's massive paw, the badger killed the warrior.RAWR! Who would save the cats now?!" Cream tipped paws battered at a ball of moss, tossing it into the air with hooked claws. The kit dropped into a crouch, her fluffy tail swishing across the sand based floor. With a shrill growl, Rabbitkit pounced and grasped her 'victim' in her jaws. At nearly two moons old, she was still unaware of the complications concerning her birth. To her, the BeachClan nursery was her home and the cats that shared it were her Clanmates. She was not to know that the warriors who brought her mother freshkill were plotting to attack her home Clan and she was even more ignorant of the fact that the spotted tom, Owlspot, and his family came from another Clan entirely. In fact, it was probably a good thing she didn't know because the whole situation was much too confusing to think about.
"What are we going to do?" she heard her mother whisper. Owlspot sat beside her and rasped his tongue over Flaxeyes' ears in a friendly gesture of affection. "I have no idea," he murmured," I am unsure whether Icestar will ask me to fight or not. Your kits and mine are still too young to journey back home so we're stuck here." "I wouldn't go to FrostClan anyway if we're going to be attacked," she meowed sadly, resting her head on her paws. "You could make it to RainClan...." "Perhaps," Owlspot meowed, nodding his head. "I wonder how Honeyfrost is. At the last Gathering, Owlfoot said they both had been attacked by a badger...."
Rabbitkit tilted her head in confusion and paused in her attack on the moss-ball. Why were they leaving and where was 'home'? She glanced around the den from her mother and siblings to the other queens. A sudden pang of pain filled her stomach. Where is home if it's not here?
{I wasn't sure how old the kits are now seeing as Orchidtail's litter jumped ahead quite a bit xD We'll have to also pretend Shadowsoul's are already apprentices. }

Foxkit jumped onto Rabbitkit. "Take that!" He hissed. He tumbled over her head and onto the soft floor. His face was right infront of his sister's now. GRRRR! Foxkit's bushy tail wiped his sister face as he jumped back over her. He did a somersault and landed at Redwind's paws. The red queen looked at him with a smile. "How about you go ahead and play in the clearing. I'll go with you." She suggested. Foxkit was the first one to bolt out into the clearing. Redwind's kits were right behind him. "I'm going to get you!" Waterkit giggled. Her tiger-like pattern and cream coat made the sun heat her pelt up quickly. She pounced at Foxkit. They tumbled together until they hit a small palm tree. "Ouch!" Foxkit meowed. "Why ya do dat?" He hissed. He head Redwind's voice.
"You two get back over here!" The red queen poked her head back into the nursery. "It's a wonderful day and maybe the kits can get your mind off the invasion." She whispered. She looked around. Most of the camp was empty, except for a few warriors and the elders. "Great, atleast we won't get yelled at for the kits running around." She muttered.

Rabbitkit hissed loudly, annoyed at her brother's sudden attack. She flattened her ears and darted after him and Waterkit. They got along well with Redwind's litter. In the close confines of the nursery, it was hard not to notice them and their light pelts. Plus, unknown to her, they were family. "Watch out!" she meowed, leaping onto Waterkit's back.
Owlspot smiled at his mate and cast a look at their other kits. Whether they would want to join them outside, he was unsure, but he hated leaving them alone. Flaxeyes nudged him with her nose as she rose to her feet. "They'll be fine," she told him. "Let's go outside and relax for a bit. Perhaps if they see them playing they'll realise they can't harm us?" "Oh StarClan! I hope Coppertail has at least some morals and will not let his siblings' kits be touched," Owlspot grumbled as he padded outside into the clearing.
{I can't remember who plays the rest of Redwind's litter xD}

Ripplekit growled lightly at the younger kits as they barreled out of the Nursery. Since they arrived, she had gotten little quiet. Sighing, she curled back up, her eyes open to little slits, and watched them through the entrance, dislike rolling off of her in waves. She couldn't wait until they left.

Her siblings just had to be loud, didn't they? It was so hard to get sleep around here with them around, so it seemed. The quiet little kit just watched as her sister played with the ball of moss. Rabbitkit was entertaining, that was for sure. She had paid no attention to her mother and Owlspot talking, she was more interested in focusing on the entrance to the nursery. Every time a cat entered, the little kit would either mewl in fright, curl up in a ball, or possibly both. It was just something that could not be helped.
When her siblings and the older kits were outside the nursery, Lilykit actually felt a bit alone. She wasn't one to really get involved in the playing, but she did enjoy watching.
The instant she saw her mother and Owlspot head out of the nursery, Lilykit definately felt alone. Sure, Ripplekit was still in there, but the little caramel kit was feeling scared. The feeling was normal for her, and she should have been used to it by now.
The little kit finally got onto her paws and padded after her mother. "Mommy wait up. Please don't leave me!" Lilykit mewed, running as fast as her paws would allow to Flaxeyes. The kit hated going out of the nursery, the outside world was just so scary, but maybe since her mother and siblings were out there too, it wouldn't be so bad.

Flaxeyes turned around and smiled at her smallest kit. Lilykit wasn't as outgoing as her siblings but that wasn't a bad thing. She thanked StarClan silently sometimes that at least one of her kits was peaceful and quiet rather than noisy like the others. "Oh, come here you silly wee thing," Flaxeyes meowed with a gentle laugh. "I would never leave you. Come sit here in the sun with me. Everybody wants to see you."

Ripplekit sighed, slightly appeased. The Nursery was empty now, as she watched Lilykit barrel after her mother, wailing for her. Lilykit seemed to be the only quiet one out of the FrostClan bunch, and with that, she felt a general fondness toward the shyest of the kits. If her brother, Grasskit, had lived past birth, she wondered idly if he would be the shyest. Well, some things were hard to tell, especially when things will never be.
The small tortoiseshell felt no aversion to the quiet, frightened, little kit. She burrowed deeper into herself, her eyes peaking out above her tail, and she wondered when the FrostClan cats and all the other intruders would leave. The last thing she wondered before she fell to sleep was when she would become an apprentice.

Waterkit rolled on her back, slightly crushing Rabbit. "Atleast they're having fun." Redwind purred. She had very rough kits. It was just strange for her to have a quiet kit. She leaned onto Owlspot's shoulder. "Nice day isn't it?" I hope the rest of the clan is okay. She felt worried for her mother. Ever since the fire her mother has been tired and grumpy, which wasn't like her.
Foxkit started to run. "You can't catch me!" He had his head looking back, so he rammed into Owlspot's paws. Foxkit startled. He looked at the big muscular tom with wide eyes. "Sorry." He said quickly.

Lilykit's ears perked at the mentioning of Flaxeyes calling her a 'wee thing'. She definately wasn't wee, in her mind, and she didn't think she was a thing. But she had been wrong before. It was probably best to not say anything about it. Besides, her mother was probably the only cat she didn't mind calling her small. She let out a mewl of fright as she watched her siblings playing so rough. She hoped they didn't get hurt.
She was glad her mother invited her over by her. There would be no telling what the caramel colored kit would have done if she had been stuck alone.
Lilykit's paws led her to Flaxeyes and the kit began to purr with delight as she sat down beside the queen. She squirmed a bit as she felt the sun on her pelt. It was a weird feeling to her, having something so hot on her fur. Then again, it felt pretty good.
"Why would everyone want to see me?" the small kit asked out loud. The thought lingered in her mind, it was just so confusing for her. "I'm just a kit." she added, blinking up at her mother.

Owlspot chuckled and stepped back, giving Foxkit some room. "You should always try and look where you're going," he advised the kit with a smile. It made him uneasy that his sister's son looked at him with fear. He would never hurt a kit, it was against the Warrior Code. Owlspot reassured himself in his mate's touch and rubbed his cheek against Redwind's. "It's lovely. Finally some sunshine! This cold weather is getting on my nerves."
Flaxeyes gave a small smile as she tried to hide the whirlwind of emotions behind it. "You're just so lovely," she meowed softly, licking Lilykit's head. Sometimes it seemed Lilykit would look more fitting amongst Redwind's litter rather than her own. Owlspot and Honeyfrost had the light colouration of their mother and grandfather. It seemed Lilykit had taken those instead of her tortoiseshell pelt. Flaxeyes was more protective of her and it concerned her that the caramel kit was so skitish. There really wasn't anything to be afraid of. Except being killed by BeachClan...
Rabbitkit hissed and leaped over Waterkit, away from the rolling kit. "Stop being silly!" she complained. She swiped at the AquaClan cat with a cream tipped paw, claws sheathed.

Waterkit opened her mouth to respond, but Foxkit beat her too it. "You guys can't catch me!" Waterkit looked at his bushy tail. It was high up in the air. Waterkit looked at Rabbitkit and smiled. This is my time to show I'm going to be great. Waterkit bolted across the clearing and raced after Foxkit. Foxkit noticed Waterkit running after him. Foxkit yelped, "wo!" He took off into a full sprint. Waterkit could only focus on Foxkit's bushy tail. Then she heard Redwind's voice. "Stay in the clearing." It was a loud growl. Waterkit stopped dead in her tracks.
Foxkit round a corner and noticed Waterkit stopped. "To quick for you huh?" He teased. Waterkit got angery and pounced quickly at the tom. She was able to pin him down. "Do slow for me?" She hissed.

The words seemed to be enough for Lilykit. It just took a simple reponse for her, nothing too elaborate. She was complacent with just about any response. The little kit made sure she was as close to Flaxeyes as possible and layed down, still unsure about the sunlight. Her eyes darted from one sibling, to another, then to Flaxeyes. There was just so much going on it was impossible for her to focus on just one thing. She finally settled on her siblings and when their playing began to get rough, she felt her own pelt shaking. Now why was she shaking and she wasn't even in the game?
"Mommy, why is everyone in the clan so different around us?" she asked curiously.

Flaxeyes blinked slowly, surprised by Lilykit's question. She had thought her children were aware that this wasn't their Clan and the queen crouched down, her stomach churning with guilt. "Well, Owlspot, who is my brother, is from AquaClan with his mate Redwind and their kits. Their Clan had to leave their home but their kits were too young to leave with them," she explained softly. "And I'm -we're- from FrostClan. I had to help nurse a queen's kits because her milk didn't come. This isn't our Clan."
"Let me play!" wailed Rabbitkit. She raced after the other two kits across the clearing, wary of Redwind's warning. As Waterkit tussled with her brother she lept onto the she-cat's back, pushing her onto the ground. "Where's your siblings?" she asked, playfully kicking at Waterkit with her hind-paws.

Waterkit laughed as Rabbitkit jumped ontop of her. "I think they're sleeping." She meowed. Redwind looked around. "Waterkit! Be careful!" The queen was afraid of her kit getting hurt. "Owlspot, can you please tell them to settle down?" Foxkit looked around. Rabbitkit was ontop of Waterkit. Foxkit now wanted in on the fun. "In coming!" He squealed. He landed with a thud ontop of Rabbitkit.

Lilykit blinked at Flaxeyes as she spoke. She pretty much kept herself isolated from everyone else, other than Foxkit and Rabbitkit, and of course her mother. She knew that Owlspot was Flaxeyes' brother, but they were all from different clans? This was new. The kit thought about all her mother had said for a moment. It was alot to take in. Her mind was whirling with all this new information. "So, this isn't our home?" she queried. "And when we go back to FrostClan will we ever see Owlspot and Redwind again? I don't want to not see them anymore, I think am getting to the point of not being scared of them as much." her eyes were full of puzzlement. The kit was so confused about all of this, this was beyond her reasoning for why the cats of the clan were different. She just thought it was because they didn't like kits at all.

Rabbitkit rolled to one side, revealing her cream belly. She grappled with Foxkit, her paws hooked behind his ears. Her claws were sheathed but she she couldn't wait until she had a real fight, her blood pounding in her ears. A shadow loomed over them, and from around her brother she could make out Owlspot's slim features. "Play fair," he warned them. Rabbitkit grinned and meerly buried her face into Foxkit's shoulder.
Flaxeyes shook her head sadly. "Redwind and Owlspot don't live here either. Their Clan was seeking shelter here but when AquaClan moved on, their kits were still too young to travel. Just like you and your siblings, Lilykit, Redwind's kits were born here too. I doubt they know no other home." She turned to watch her children scuffle with Waterkit, Owlspot and Redwind watching on. She could empathise with Lilykit. These cats were her family, tied to her by blood. Flaxeyes loved them but she also loved the cats of FrostClan. "We can see them at Gatherings," she whispered sadly.
Coppertail watched the kits play from under the shade of the pine trees. The rest of the Clan was wary of these strange cats and, despite that they were family, he was too. Owlspot and Flaxeyes had changed so much since they seperated that faithful eve under their father's gaze. The deputy repressed a shudder, images of the battle with BurntClan flashing through his mind's eye. From Rabbitkit's strong build to Waterkit's agile frame, he couldn't help but be afraid. Would Burntstar's blood prove too strong for them? "They're just kits," he told himself.

Mudkit let his eyes flutter open, yawning widely. He got up, looking around BeachClan's Nursery, the only one he'd ever known. But he knew he was an outsider here. He knew that he wanted his own home, the one that had been demolished. He stretched, yawning again. Where were his mother and father? He hastily left the Nursery, feeling claustrophobic. He met the cold air welcomingly. "Mom? Dad? Where are you?" he called out.

Owlspot's ears perked up and he looked over at the Nursery. It seemed that his son had finally decided to wake after all. "Over here Mudkit," he called from where he sat watching the kits play. Out of his litter of kits, Waterkit was the most outgoing but Mudkit had to be the most mischeivous. The name certaintly fit him for he was always finding somewhere to get himself dirty.

Owlspot flicked his tail over the kit's ears. How could something so small be so noisy? But the spotted tom smiled at Mudkit, remembering that as an apprentice he was always asking endless questions. "The warriors are probably out hunting or patrolling, although I can see Coppertail hiding under the trees," he meowed. He glanced up and met his brother's amber gaze with his own muddy-blue. The deputy grumbled an apology and crept over to them, his ears flattened down. It was obvious that something was bothering the BeachClan warrior but while his kits were in earshot, Owlspot would not ask. If his brother wanted to hide and glare at them, so be it. "Mudkit, you know the deputy don't you?" he asked with false cheer.

Mudkit shook his head. "No. What's a depudee?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "What's copper?" He turned back to his father. He kneaded his claws in and out of the dirt in anticipation - he always acted like this when new information was close by. His eyes were lit with wonder and some excitement. He waited impatiently for his father to answer him.

Coppertail narrowed his eyes. Surely Owlspot wouldn't explain something has important as that?! But the spooted tom calmly looked to him and smiled. "Coppertail, would you like to tell your nephew?" The large tom grimaced and fixed Mudkit with what he hoped was his friendliest smile. "Well, as deputy I become leader of BeachClan once Icestar dies. But, more importantly, I organise patrols, watch camp and help lead the Clan into battle. I'm second in command," he explained. "And copper is a colour. Deep brown-red, like his fur," Owlspot added with a smile. He was glad to see that Mudkit was so interested in learning and hoped that his son would prove to be an excellent apprentice.

Mudkit nodded, soaking it all in. "What are patrols?" he asked next, staring intently at BeachClan's deputy. He intrigued the young kit. He didn't know much about Coppertail. "And I'm his nephew?" he asked his father, tilting his head to the side. "What does that make him to me?" He shivered slightly at the cold air, but he was intent on learning this new information.

"Patrols are when you check the borders for any sign of intrusion and replace the scent markers," Coppertail explained. "It's very important," he added, hoping that Mudkit didn't think it a pointless job. As deputy, he had an apprentice before so he was used to instructing young cats on Clan life but this was just a kit and an AquaClan one at that! Coppertail stared back, wary of Mudkit's intense gaze. It was as if the kit was studying him. Definitely Owlspot's son... He tilted his head at the next question, thinking it over. "Uncle? And Honeyfrost of RainClan and Flaxeyes over there would be your aunties. We're all related, of course."

"Hey!" Foxkit wailed. He tossed Rabbitkit onto the floor like a piece of prey. His bushy tail brushed across Rabbitkit's nose when he jumped over her. He bolted over toward the nursery. His rapid kicking at the ground to try to pick up even more speed made him fall. "Fox dung!" He spat. Foxkit laid on the ground, his pelt filled with dirt.
Waterkit was out of breath. She sat next to her father. Waterkit's striped muzzle didn't move while he was talking to Mudkit. Mudkit looked so curious and amazed on what warriors do for a living. Tipical for someone to be so curious, but I don't know why I don't feel a sudden urge to listen. Waterkit felt bored by Owlspot's 'stories.' Waterkit looked at Redwind. "Redwind? Why do all the warriors disrespect us here?" Waterkit's mouth moved slowly while she talked. "Well, it's because we live in a different clan." "Well, I know that, but we respect them right?" "I guess so. But they just feel like friends or not friends." Redwind tried not to confuse the small kit with large words. "Redwind, but they should be nice to us, most of them are. Like Flaxeyes." "But she is apart of our kin." "But it doesn't mean she has to be nice." Waterkit was starting to get angry. Redwind looked overtop of Waterkit's body and looked at her mate. "Owlspot, can you please help me out here?" Redwind meowed.

Owlspot looked at his mate and raised an eyebrow. "I'm busy trying to teach certain cats to be nice," he meowed. Coppertail frowned and glared at his brother. "I respect you Owlspot, but I'ld feel much more comfortable if we were all in our respectable Clans." The spotted tom sighed and turned to Waterkit. Who knew his daughter could be so irritable? "Waterkit," he meowed softly," Flaxeyes is nice to us because she wants to be. She loves us, as I'm sure Coppertail does. But cats of different Clans were raised seperate and are wary of each other. " Coppertail snorted. "Don't get friendly with cats of other Clans. It's just not done."
"Don't make a mess!" Flaxeyes called out. Foxkit was getting himself filthy by kicking up the sand. Rabbitkit shook sand from her own fur as she raced after her brother. She leapt over him when he fell and crouched down, tail swishing. "Fight like a warrior!" she hissed.

Mudkit's eyes widened. "We're all related? Really?" He pondered this for a moment. Patrols was a warriors job...He was going to be a warrior. A good warrior. To make his father proud. "How old am I?" he asked, tilting his head to the side again. "And when do I get to become an apprentice to train to be a warrior?"

"Well! They should learn to get a long like family. It's almost as if we should just kill ourselfs just for something stupid like territory when we could maybe all be friends and share!" Waterkit hissed. She turned her striped back to her father. She watched Foxkit and Rabbitkit chase after each other like prey and warrior.
"I am you flea-bag!" Foxkit hissed. He pounced onto Rabbitkit and growled, "you should fight like a warrior! You stink at this!" He held onto Rabbitkit's shoulder, hopely hard enough so he couldn't fall off.

Mudkit watched his siblings fight, and vaguely listened to his sister be obnoxious about how everybody should share. Oh please. Where would the fun and glory be in that? He turned back to Coppertail and his father, eager for more information. He wanted to know it all. "Please tell me! Am I gonna be an apprentice soon?"

Coppertail tilted his head, trying to count up how long it had been since the kits had been born in BeachClan. "Less than two moons?" he suggested. Owlspot nodded slowly and looked down at Mudkit, aplogetic. "Another five moons yet," he told him," So it's awhile yet before you can become an apprentice." He purposely ignored his daughter's behaviour for, despite her attitude, she was correct. They could all get along together but it was just easier living seperate lives.
"I'm not the one falling over my own paws!" Rabbitkit retorted. She turned herself and drove her shoulder, and Foxkit with it, into the ground. "Get off me! I don't want to play with you anymore!" She turned her pale green eyes to Waterkit, who was watching afar. Her gaze was hostile and read something like "And why aren't you fighting like a warrior". Nobody here could fight properly and she couldn't ask the warriors because they would just laugh!
