Icestar jumped onto the Leaf Pile and looked around the clearing. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around for a clan meeting!" Her voice was stern, meaning, not good news. She dug her claws into the large palm tree leaves and notice cats starting to gather. She noticed Stormcloud sitting next to Silentstep. The elder was looking at her paws and murmurring something to the black and white tom.
Silenstep looked at her paws nervously. "I don't think this is a good idea." She whispered. Stormcloud looked at the elder. "We need to do this! Our clanmate is in trouble!" His voice was no more than a whisper too. He new what was about to happen, and it wasn't very pretty. The black and white tom turned to see more and more cats joining into the clearing.

Tigerstripe strode out of the warriors' den and sat down behind Stormcloud. "What's going on?" she asked. "Is this about Foxflame? He went on that patrol alone and I haven't seen him since. Do you think...?" She didn't want to think about what might have happened to the tom. Perhaps there had been an accident and he had--no. That wasn't something to think about. Alive until proven otherwise, after all.
Quietshadow padded out of his den, licking bits of rabbit meat from his whiskers. He had been finishing up a meal when Icestar issued the meeting call. Although slightly irked at the interruption of his supper, the medicine cat was in good spirits as always when it came to matters concerning the clan. "What does she want?"

Stormcloud looked at Tigerstripe and Quietshadow. "I believe. I don't know what Icestar is exactly going to say, but it might involve the others clans." Stormcloud said softly. "Might? Of course it has to do with other clans!" Silentstep snarled. The elder leaned over and groaned. "After the this meeting, can you be a dear and feck me my herbs." The elder smiled at the medicine cat. Her leg was 'killing' her. Probably from the chance of weather. It was hard trying to argue with a limp.

Ambercloud softly sighed as she padded out of the warriors den. She hadn't seen Foxflame in a while, she had actually missed the tom, and wondering how he was doing, since his sister's death. She had offered a few words of advice, and last thing she remembered was watching him go toward the medicine cats den, and she went her own way. Next thing she knew she hadn't seen him. The amber she-cat hoped that nothing had happened to him. Her ears twitched as she heard the stern voice of Icestar. What in the world could be going on? She padded closer, to listen to what the leader had to say. Hopefully it wasn't life-altering news or even a death she wasn't aware of. Ambercloud curled her tail around her paws as she sat and watched the leader with curious eyes.

Icestar stood tall. "All cats of Beachclan!" she began, "Our clanmate Foxflame has been missing for about two sunrises!" She looked up at the sky, it was about sunhigh now. "He hasn't been seen in the territory and his sents are stale. Stormcloud's patrol this morning reported back with stale traces of him leading to Frostclan territory." She hissed. Stormcloud stood up. "And a stale Frostclan sent too!" He added. Icestar nodded and looked around. "For the sake of our clanmate, I say we follow his trail, and if we find him in there camp," She looked around for suggestions. "Lets teach them a lesson!" Silentstep snarled. The elder didn't like Frostclan one bit, other than her kin being in Frostclan.

Tigerstripe blinked. If he had strayed--or trespassed--on to FrostClan territory, he should have been chased off by an angry patrol, not detained for two days. Perhaps he had been injured and was too weak to return to camp. Perhaps he was being held prisoner. She shuddered to think about the third possibilty--maybe he got caught up and killed in a battle. Whatever lesson that Icestar thought that ought to be taught, she would willingly go along simply for the sake of knowing what happened to her clanmate.
Quietshadow blinked, confused. "Silentstep, what do you mean?" he asked quietly. "This is a rather uncommon occurrence, yes, but surely there must be a reason why he's there. Whitestar is too empathetic to let anything happen to another cat, even if the cat is from another clan. Surely he wasn't killed, let alone too severely injured to return home."
Thunderpaw yawned and slipped out of the apprentices' den. He had almost missed the meeting and was arriving late for it as it was. Nevertheless, he heard his mentor telling the clan about Foxflame's mysterious disappearance. Following Silentstep's lead, he yowled from the back of the group. "Yeah! Let's teach those furballs what happens when you mess with BeachClan!"
Tigerstripe whirled around to glare at her son. "Thunderpaw, hush!"

"FrostClan scent?" Lightstream repeated, padding forward until she stood in the midst of the group of cats; she never really liked being on the outside. "How can that be?" She sounded confused. Even she had noticed the younger tom's absence in the BeachClan camp, but she had assumed that he had simply preferred to be away from the other cats while mourning his sister's death. Bramblethorn had been such a kind, cheerful cat, and a wonderful warrior - her death was a horrible loss for the entire clan, especially her brother. For a moment, she glanced back to where her own brother stood outside of the nursery, looking at his paws. Wonder if he'd give a mouse's dung if I died. It was an interesting thought, really. Did he even care about his own mate? As her mind wandered back to Foxflame's disappearance, she tried to think what he would be doing in FrostClan territory. "Do you really think they captured him? That's so awful! You don't think they're trying to use him for anything, do you?"

{Opps, I'm needed here.}
Coppertail sat beside Lightstream, glaring up at Icestar. The leader never discussed things with him, especially ideas to attack camps. Although Foxflame was mourning, it was out of character for him to wander off in this cold weather alone. Yes, they'd sent patrols out and the young warriors scent vanished at the highest part of the border with FrostClan. It was possible that he had just fallen over and was staying at their camp. "Icestar!" he yowled out angrily, his tail swishing over the sandy ground. "Why would Foxflame be at the FrostClan border? Have you not noticed, but it's a little chilly?"
"FrostClan has more honour than that," hissed a voice softly. Flaxeyes sat at the entrance of the Nursery, her fur bristled up along her back. How dare they even suggest that they had harmed the tom! "No doubt your mouse-brain of a warrior is hiding in a hollow grieving for his sister. You're all just too thick to follow a scent in the snow," she snarled. Owlspot attempted to nudge her back into the den where Rabbitkit was mewling for food. She glared at her brother and he back away, standing at her side.

Redwind poked her head out of the nursery. "How dare they!" She hissed. How could Beachclan first kick out Aquaclan, and now Frostclan was on the line. "They first kick out us, and now Frostclan!" The queen spat. She then heard Waterkit mew. She accidently ignored it, from how angry she was. "This isn't fair!"
Icestar shot a cold glare at her deputy. "Well, his sent leads to Frostclan! Only Starclan knows why he's been over there!" The leader snarled. Then she shot a glare at her apprentice. I like his enthusiasm but I don't like that way he's thinking right now. "I say we send a patrol to Frostclan. Then do whatever is needed." Icestar lashed her tail against the palm leaves and hopped down. "Beachclan is ready." She whispered to herself. Silentstep now stepped in. "Frostclan has now been taking up space. They're letting themselves starve because of the weather! They won't even admit they need help!" The grey she-cat spat. Stormcloud then nudged her. "Silentstep, you should go take a nap." "No!" She angerly snapped. Her leg was really bothering her now. She stood up and wouldn't even put any weight on it. It was too must for the elder.
Skystripe woke up and heard angry hisses and spats outside. She got to her paws lazily and walked into the clearing. She noticed Icestar lashing her tail with others listening quietly, with others throwing out suggestions. She padded up to Tigerstripe. "What's going on?"

"Why should we bother kicking them out if there's barely enough prey to sustain them?" Quietshadow meowed bitterly under his breath. "Whose space have they been taking up, anyways? It's just snow. How would we profit from that?" For the first time in moons, the medicine cat was starting to lose his temper. Despite this, he was still calmer than a typical cat.
"Icestar is suggesting that Foxflame's disappearance is FrostClan's fault," Tigerstripe whispered. "It's a little suspicious but it sounds like some cats are taking it a little too seriously." She frowned disapprovingly. The behavior of those cats--Thunderpaw included--was rather disgraceful in her opinion.
"Can I come!?" Thunderpaw meowed, excited. "Please, please, Icestar! I wanna come on the patrol too!" The apprentice was undoubtedly looking for an opportunity to show off some of his newly-acquired fighting skills, and who better to show it off too than a bunch of scrawny, snow-dwelling cats living next door?

Skystripe frowned. "But though, Icestar is doing the best she can. But I don't think you should be worried about Frostclan, maybe Aquaclan. They don't even have a territory. And you know that's not Icestar's fault." Even though their leader had her bad days, the she-cat always had an advantage one way or another. "Icestar might have a point this time."
Icestar looked at Thunderpaw. "Are you ready." She knew her apprentice was ready, but she wanted to apprentice to know that he was. Speaking of which. "I want Coppertail, Thunderpaw, Skystripe, Lightstream, Ambercloud, and myself to go on this patrol, to visit our neighbors. Rest need to guard camp." She then shot a quick glance at the nursery. She new that the outcasts were easedropping, but she didn't care.

Coppertail rose to his paws, eyes flashing angrily. "That's a huge 'patrol' Icestar! One cat should be enough to visit our supposedly waste of space neighbours. Or is this just a convenient oppurtunity for us to invade their territory?" His eyes trailed away from his leader down to Silentstep, a rather vicious elder. She was the one stirring trouble, planting ideas that FrostClan had taken the warrior and should be punished.
"Don't you dare touch them," Flaxeyes yowled, leaping past her brother and out in the clearing where she stood at the edge of the crowd. Her bright green eyes were focused on Silverstep with a look of hatred. "You rotten piece of crow food, how could say that we are letting ourselves starve!" she spat," We've survived many seasons eating the bare minimum. Why bother asking for help from BeachClan when you have even less prey." Owlspot nervously stepped forward, telling Redwind to stay inside. If Flaxeyes kicked up anymore fuss she will have her pelt off her back as quick as she can say 'mouse'.

Lightstream felt a bit bit mouse-brained about her sudden outburst that Foxflame might have been captured by FrostClan - especially with a FrostClan cat, Flaxeyes, in the BeachClan camp. She suddenly wanted to dash over to the queen and apologize, tell her that she hadn't meant for it to sound like she was blaming Foxflame's disappearance on FrostClan and that she should have thought things through before blurting anything out. In the end, though, she decided that doing so might be a bit too awkward. Besides, she wasn't the only cat who'd said something of the sort. No cat knew what had happened to Foxflame as of yet. Her ears pricked up as she heard her name called for the patrol. Well, it looks like I'm going to be among the first to find out! She began to scramble to her paws excitedly, but Coppertail stood up first. Her ears drooped a little as she realized that he had an extremely valid point - if too many cats went, FrostClan might assume that they were attacking - which wouldn't be good. At least, she didn't think it would be good. "Uhh... erm, yeah," she mumbled. She scuffed her paw against the ground, seeming slightly disappointed. She had been looking forward to patrolling with her clanmates. "Coppertail's right... we should probably send only one or two cats." Her comment made her feel a bit useless - she wished she could think of something to say that hadn't been said already.

"I'm ready!" Thunderpaw meowed, practically jumping up and down with joy. A real fight! Wow! He knew that Icestar wouldn't listen to the cats who were suggesting that the large patrol would be come off as an attacking front. He didn't really care whether or not FrostClan was responsible for the disappearance of Foxflame; he just wanted to experience the heat of battle firsthand.
"Coppertail's right," meowed Quietshadow, anger ebbing from his voice as it returned to its typical soft tone. "If AquaClan had left one of their apprentices behind and they came back for them, would you be more intimidated by one cat approaching them or half of the clan?" He glanced at Silentstep, frowning with slight disapproval at the elder's bellicose tendencies.

Silentstep looked at Flaxeyes. "Too bad we didn't starve you!" She snarled. Even though she was an elder, it didn't mean she was old enough. For only being about 30 moons old, she still a lot in her. Stormcloud looked at Flaxeyes. "How dare you! We wouldn't attack! And maybe now that your acusing us as crowfood, maybe you and your kits should go find Aquaclan and stay with them in the cold!" The black and white tom was now angry. Why did the queen first of all listen to their conversation, then again lecture about how great her clan is. Icestar looked at Coppertail. "Then stay here." Icestar snarled. "We weren't going to attack, but Frostclan might think other wise, I'm not going to spill blood!" She hissed. Icestar was disappointed in her deputy for thinking of such a thing. "How dare you think that I was going to spill blood to our neighbors!" She bared her teeth and looked around. Skystripe looked at Flaxeyes. "How dare she in lecturing to our elders! And first of all we have tons of prey during leafbare! Well, atleast enough so our clan doesn't starve!" Skystripe arched her back as she jumped to her paws. Redwind looked at Owlspot. "Get Flaxeyes in here! Before they send her away! And maybe without her kits!" She pleaded to her mate, then she decided. Owlspot had to do this. She shoved into the clearing. Then she padded over to the kits. She tried to calm the kits down, but they basiclly knew what was going on.

Coppertail glanced at Lightstream giving her a thankful smile, at least she and Quietshadow were on his side. But Icestar had all the support she needed, she didn't need her deupty's. "Icestar," he meowed sternly, stuggling to soften his voice and stop his fur from bristling. "If you're not planning to spill blood as you say, why the need for such a large patrol? It certaintly sounds like you want to invade, why don't you just tell us the truth?" His eyes widened as Skystripe lept to her paws, appearing intent on ripping Flaxeyes apart.
"Would BeachClan break the warrior code?" she was meowing softly, her green eyes shifting from Stormcloud to Skystripe. Every cat knew that it was against the code to harm a kit no matter what Clan it belonged to. If Stormcloud threw her out of BeachClan, all of StarClan would bring their fury down. Owlspot jumped forward, standing protectively in front of the queen. Flaxeyes snarled angrily at her brother but one look at his eyes told her where she belonged; back with her kits. "Is this what BeachClan is reduced to?" Owlspot asked, his voice flat and calm," A group of warriors yowling for blood, fighting amongst yourselves?" He turned his eyes away from Stormcloud and Silverstep and looked up at Icestar, directing his questions to her. "It seems Icestar that you have forgotten the word or your medicine cat and deputy. Perhaps you should replace them with your irrational mate and elder," he meowed. There was a cold edge to his voice, like harsh frost on soft skin. He was probably a prisoner now but he did not fear these cats. They made their own decisions.

All this argument over a patrol to find a missing clanmate... Huh. Lightstream didn't blame anyone for being so touchy; the fire in AquaClan, Bramblethorn's death, and now with Foxflame's disappearance had left BeachClan with plenty to be stressed about. Still, she thought that Icestar was being a bit harsh. Coppertail hadn't actually accused her of wanting to attack FrostClan. She pondered over how to avoid getting involved in any sort of argument herself. Would Icestar be angry with her if she decided to stay at camp? It certainly wasn't something she fancied - Icestar being mad. Her curiosity, too, egged her on; she wanted to find out what was going on. But if there were too many cats on the patrol, FrostClan wouldn't take it to well, and there was another thought beginning to stir her mind. Coppertail thinks that the patrol should be small. If I go and make it bigger, will he be annoyed with me? And why did she suddenly care? She realized that she was still grinding her paw in into the sandy ground, and quickly stopped. "I'll stay," she meowed. "That'll leave you with... four? Will that work?"

Icestar looked at Coppertail, her eyes turned to a deeply blue color. She started to remember the dream she had the night before, Starclan showing her battle in frosted areas, with Frostclan and Beachclan sent. She didn't want to spill blood over a clanmate, but she didn't want a small patrol, then being numbered. Icestar opened her mouth but no words came out. Then finally, "I shared a dream with Starclan a few nights ago. It showed Frostclan and Beachclan fighting. I do not want to spill blood, but I also don't want to go and be out numbered for an attack." She said softly.
ooc; Is the battle still on? To kick Frostclan out, Beachclan didn't want to, but they had to kind of thing?
bic; Stormcloud looked at Owlspot. How could he say that? The tom looked at the Aquaclan cat with bared teeth, but stayed completely still. Silentstep looked at Owlspot. "Coppertail! Did you just here him!" She yowled. How could he say something like that. "Even though I'm an elder, it doesn't mean I'm old enough to be one, all because of your father's battles! I'm stuck like this!" She snarled.
ooc; Had to make something up DX I need something to say, so I just thought of Burntstar, sorry Ali! DX

{ I posted a discussion on the battle in the admin's board. The only problem I have about the battle going ahead right now is the timing. If we decide to send a patrol to FrostClan, get Foxflame and exchange threats and perhaps fight, that would be better. Then the battle can begin. }

"But what if our presence causes the attack?" Coppertail asked. It bothered him immensly that Icestar had chosen this moment to reveal her vision. Was StarClan really warning them of a battle from FrostClan? Had they taken Foxflame as bait? He was potentially falling for a well laid trap. He glanced over at Flaxeyes, wondering if she had any idea what was going on between the two Clans. It hurt him to think that his sister could possibly be their prisoner. But it hurt even more seeing his siblings fight with his clanmates.
Owlspot's fur bristled and he gave a light snarl. Why was everybody bringing up his father's actions and pinning them on him? Behind him, Flaxeyes was growling and she shoved her way forward. "Don't you dare blame that on us!" Coppertail burst over, putting himself between them and Silentstep. "Stop this!" he growled at the elder," You're stepping out of line."

Silentstep glared at Coppertail. "Then tell these cats to stop throwing out snarls!" She hissed. Then Silentstep froze. "Stop this now!" It was a large and loud snarl coming from the Palm Leaves. The silver cat slowly moved her head to see Icestar, her long tail was flicking back and foruth. Her eyes were full of anger. Her glare was more than ice, it was also fire. "Get back into the nursery, before you all have to leave." She hissed to the Aquaclan and Frostclan cats. Then the black she-cat turned to Coppertail. "Keep camp safe, I trust you." Her voice was more calm now. She knew that her deputy was wise, but always refused a lot of her visions. Frostclan might be pulling something, but now, this isn't fair. We need our clanmate back.

Wait... is she leading the patrol away now? "Hey, Icestar, um..." Lightstream was going to ask whether this meant that she should go or stay - she'd been asked to go on the patrol Icestar had ordered, but had volunteered to say behind if the original number was too large. Unsure how to ask the question without looking like a complete mouse-brain in the midst of the tension, she allowed her voice to trail off. Of course, starting to say something without finishing it probably made her look even worse - so she struggled to find a way to complete the question. "Who's on the patrol now?" she finally asked.

"Skystripe, Lightstream, Thunderpaw, Ambercloud," She was yelling for the cats to be on the patrol. Icestar's tail was flicking back and foruth. Skystripe jumped to her paws. There hasn't been something like this since the quarrel with Aquaclan, but that was about a season ago. Though it had been hard to make up with them, they might have another quarrel, but with Frostclan.

Ambercloud decided that maybe keeping quiet about this would be the best. She didn't want to upset anyone, that was for sure, but she still felt a bit uneasy about this whole situation. She knew they needed to find out exactly what was going on, but hurting someone wasn't really her favorite thing to do. Just the thought of a battle made her orange fur tingle. Whether the tingle was good or bad, she could not tell.
On the other side of things, she thought that they should do anything and everything they could to bring back Foxflame. The cat had been through so much, there was no telling what could be happening now. Shaking her mind back into a sense of reality, she heard her name being called for the patrol.
This was her chance to find out the answers to her questions. If it came down to fighting, the she-cat knew deep down she wouldn't like it, but she would do what she must to get Foxflame back.
Ambercloud nodded, indicating that she was ready whenever the time came to go.

Coppertail sighed and nodded reluctantly. "I'll do my best Icestar but don't provoke a fight," he meowed. He glanced warily at his siblings and stepped away from them. He leaned over Icestar and whispered into her ear. "Foxflame may be able to shed some light on FrostClan's behaviour if we bring him back."
Owlspot herded Flaxeyes away, nudging her gently with his nose. Although Coppertail was protesting against the large patrol he knew his brother would be tempted by the idea of invading FrostClan. He couldn't expect the ginger tom to choose family over his duty of the Clan. "He's going to let them go," Flaxeyes meowed softly as she slipped back into the Nursery. "It'll be okay," Owlspot murmured, turning back towards his mate and kits. All he could do now was stand and wait for the patrol to return.
