The waves lapped at the shore with a gentle hush, a natural lullaby. The sand, gently heated by the morning sun, was warm underpaw as two cats made their way out from the forest. The two rogues had had a long morning treking across AquaClan after finding it destroyed by fire. Then came near disaster when they tried to cross the Rushing River, something Spider swore he would never do again. Now all they wanted to do was lie in the sun, dry their black fur and eat some fish. And of course, try and make polite conversation with Quietshadow, BeachClan's medicine cat. Spider hadn't yet figured out how they were meant to do this without getting attacked by the Clan cats but then on, he hadn't been thinking about it that much. He was still thinking about how Nightshade loved him.
"Welcome to BeachClan!" he announced to his companion," This is the Beach. Sun, sand and surf at our paws."

"It's very warm here," Nightshade meowed quietly, taking in the sights. A gull flew overhead, giving a single squawk before it vanished into the forest and out of sight. She fluffed up her fur and reveled in the heat of the beach for a moment before clearing her thoughts and turning to face Spider. "Where do you think their camp is? I don't think Quietshadow will wandering around this far out. It wasn't very long ago that I smelled their scent markers."

Spider nodded in agreement. The sand kept the warmth but once evening came the Beach would be just as cold as any other place. Hopefully, if the planned to spend the night, there was somewhere on the sand dunes where they could make a sheltered nest. Nightshade's question interrupted his thoughts and he turned to answer her. "Their is camp in the forest and unless Quietshadow is huting he probably won't be out here...," he replied. He raised his head to the sky and began scenting the sea breeze. Amongst the smell of salt he could scent a collection of mixed warriors, in the direction of the forest. Spider gestured to the area with his nose. "There's somebody over there."

occ:// Spider and Nightshade are actually looking for Quietshadow so at some point they're going to have to come into contact with BeachClan. Some of the apprentices could be sent back to camp with the prey while the others go to the Beach so see who is there?

ooc: Sounds good to me, even though I only sort of know what you're talking about. :3
bic: Nightshade lifted her head and sniffed the air before turning it to look at Spider. "Yeah, I do smell something. It smells like cat, but sort of salty and with traces of this weird smell. Would that one be from the fish that they eat? There was a Clan back home that ate only raccoons. Great StarClan, they smelled bad! Their camp always had an odor of decaying flesh...sorry, got off track. Well, I do hope they find us but I don't want to get attacked or anything..." Her voice trailed off, once again displaying her tendency to ramble on about Clan life, and she glanced at Spider expectantly. It wasn't that she was expecting any answers, but that she just wanted him to say something.

Browntail padded next to Dragonpaw. They had just been coming back from the forest and had a nice hunting patrol. Dragonpaw carried three mice by their tails. And Browntail two. They had caught a lot but needed a lot to feed two clans. The fire had made a big fuss around the two clans but Icestar had let them stay for another two moons. He had wondered about the she-cat's plans if they didn't suceed to leave, or find a home near by. Then again, what will happen when Jaystar is still weak and can't travel to get anywhere?
"Hey Dragon-" Browntail started. The one-eyed tom dropped the mice he was carrying. He noticed two cats on the beach. They didn't smell like any clan cat. "Those are loners right?" Dragonpaw meowed. "SHH!!" Browntail sneered. "Coppertail?" Browntail whispered. Walking back to the deputy.

Coppertail silenced he patrol with a swish of his tail. He dropped the squirrel he was carrying and crept forward, scenting the air. Indeed they smelt like loners. He glanced at his brother to see if he could recognise them. Afterall, Owlspot had spent much more time in the rogue nest than him. The spotted tom smiled and dropped his catch so he could talk. "That's Spider," he whispered. It wasn't hard not to recognise the long limbed tom. He didn't know who the she-cat was, though he knew she had been in BurntClan with him and Browntail.
Spider chuckled. "That's BeachClan alright. The funny tang must be the AquaClan warriors," he told her. He wrinkled his nose up in distaste when she mentioned the idea of eating raccoons. One could imagine what they would smell like. Giving himself a mental shake, he stepped forward, putting himself between the warriors and Nightshade. The group was large from what he could tell and he didn't want Nightshade to get harmed.

"Hello Nightshade," Browntail meowed broadly, trying to sound nice, but it didn't quite act out nicely. Dragonpaw looked at the strange she-cat and noticed that she probably wasn't was clan cat from around here. Maybe a loner that had a mate that looked scarey. "Spider," Browntail meowed, dipping his head quickly. "Long time no see," he hissed under his breath. "You know them?" Dragonpaw sneered. "SHH!!" Browntail spat. Finally he stepped forward. "What are you doing here and what do 'you' want?" Browntail growled. "Back off and get off this terr-" Dragonpaw hadn't finished, instead he had sand kicked at him. Browntail purred quietly, he had to get the annoying apprentice to shut up some how. "Let Coppertail talk." Browntail whispered.

Spider's fur bristled instinctively at the tone in Browntail's voice. He guessed that since the battle against the Clans a few things had changed. He rose his head and pulled himself up to his full height. From their scents, he could tell that the ex-rogue and the rather rude apprentice were not from BeachClan. However the ginger tom glaring at him was. "Nightshade and I are just having a walk," he explained," We were hoping to meet Quietshadow?"
Coppertail's fur was bristled and his claws were unsheathed. "There's other places you could walk," he snarled," I know personally that you lot all have your own territory. And no rogue is allowed to see our Clan medicine cat!" Owlspot rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. Ever since his brother had became deputy he had become so serious. He nudged the larger tom's shoulder playfully. "Loosen up. We used to hunt on Clan territories when we were rogues remember?" Coppertail winced. He wished he could just forget that part of his life.

Browntail looked at Nightshade with a blank look, seeing that she was with Spider. Nightshade was really his only friend back in the rouge nest. He wanted to stay friends with her but his clan..... Browntail leaned forward and smelled the fresh sent of rouge marking. "I believe they made sent markers." Browntail scoffed to Dragonpaw. Dragonpaw's eyes lit up bright green. He had enough of these rouges and he hasn't seen them for nearly a acouple minutes. Dragonpaw kept his legs stiff as stone, locking his bones and telling himself not to leap. "I've have enough of them already." Dragonpaw hissed to Coppertail.

Coppertail glared at Dragonpaw. This apprentice had really no right to be acting like he was. Dragonpaw was a guest on BeachClan territory and wasn't entitled to tell him what to do. "Dragonpaw," he snarled," Step back. Remember your place."

Dragonpaw gave Coppertail a sharp gaze but he new he was right. Dragonpaw just kept a sharp gaze on Spider. Dragonpaw now had a steady grip on his nerves and just sat down and started to groom his chest.

"Oh, come on," meowed Nightshade. "Quietshadow's father, Coalfur, was my father as well. Could I please meet my brother--or rather, half-brother? You know how us rogues are. With no Clan to look after, family's one of the most important things." Her voice was a soft purr in an attempt to be persuasive. "You can ask him if you'd like. He knows who I am. We met at the Gathering...I had pounced on him but I then left him alone. I could never harm my own kin." She blinked twice, trying to look innocent and sweet.

"Don't trust her," Browntail whisered to Coppertail, so only he could hear. "She was a friend to me, then blew me off." he hissed, so only Coppertail could hear. Dragonpaw just kept a crisp eye on the two. In his rule book, number one, be loyal to clan. Two, never trust an outsider.

Spider had to struggle not to smile. Nightshade had a way with charming toms and he could see how uncomfortable it was making Coppertail and Owlspot at the least. The black and white she-cat was certaintly pretty but he felt a little thrill of pleasure knowing that at this moment he was the only one she wanted. No wonder he had fallen for her. "Oh come on. I have personally met Quietshadow myself. I 'bumped' into him at that rather awful battle but I left him unharmed. Any family of Nightshade's is a friend of mine," he meowed, his voice light and reassuring.
Coppertail kneaded the sand with his white paws. He could understand where Nightshade was coming from as he had been a rogue before but now he was the deputy of BeachClan. A deputy who was about to claw the ears off the two cats beside him if they didn't close their mouths. "Listen, I will allow you to come to camp with us under a few conditions. The first one is that you will have to get permission from Icestar, our leader, and Quietshadow himself. He might not want to see you. The second one is that we will be watching you very closely. You won't be able to flick your ears without us seeing it," he told them. He kept his tone stern so that it didn't sound like he was surrending. Nightshade wanted to see her brother, he couldn't see the harm in that. But what if they are planning an invasion?
"I know Nightshade and Spider from BurntClan. They're nice cats," Owlspot meowed, vouching for the two rogues. "Browntail, they've been busying doing things which won't get them attacked by warriors like us. That's why they haven't visited." Spider nodded in agreement. "Very busy. A little walk through AquaClan, dreadful sorry about your territory by the way and then an almost fatal river crossing. We are just cold, wet and looking to meet up with an old friend."

Browntail's eye turned to an angry, golden slit. His paws held down a wad of sand, he wanted to pounce at this rouge, and his 'mate.' Lets hope Icestar doesn't let them into her camp. he thought. Browntail gave out a growl and turned around. He was going to lead the way. Dragonpaw walked up to him. "Guard the end of the patrol," Browntail muttured softly. Dragonpaw obeyed and let everyone pass before he started to move his now white paws, thanks to the crisp sand.

"Thanks, Owlspot," Nightshade meowed, dipping her head to the former rogue. "Quietshadow'll let us in. I know how Clan life works: The leader trusts their deputy and medicine cat for these kinds of things. There is a certain family resemblance." She turned her head to the left so that she was looking down at the other cats with a bit of disdain. "Of course, all black cats look pretty similar, but he's not my full brother anyways...I think I'll stop rambling."

Coppertail dug his claws into the sand, resisting the temptation of clawing out Browntail's remaining eye. If that AquaClan warrior gave another order he swore he would snap. He was the deputy and in the charge of the patrol. He took his spot, padding along on Nightshade's other side. "There is a small resemblance," he meowed, his voice a little tense. "And our leader does trust us to make good decisions. Quietshadow will know what to do."
"Nightshade was from the mountains," Owlspot commented. He had taken his position beside Spider so that the two rogues were covered on all sides. Even though he trusted them, it would reassure the other warriors if they had the rogues under control. "What have you two been up to?" he asked, nudging Spider gently. It hadn't seen them so close and wondered if they were, as Browntail had said, mates. "Apart from trying to cross the river and get youself killed," he added, smiling.

Browntail was just mad, why was Beachclan letting rouges onto their territory. It's bad enough he's staying here. He was getting mad and wanted to just burst out on these mouse-brained Beachclaners. His mind was buzzing with the past, and what had happen to him, like how his eyes was clawed out. Browntail just flinched as he thought about it. His stomach was empty and talking to him, as if they were good friends. Dragonpaw was fed up with Browntail now, telling him what to do, then Coppertail letting rouges into the territory. I hope one of those rouges turns around and starts to teach Coppertail to shut up for once. Dragonpaw's tail laid on the ground, leaving a trail.

Nightshade licked her lips, pondering what to say. "Not much," she meowed. "I've learned how to hunt and fight, thanks to Spider. We've been hanging out together. And alone. I don't think I've seen any other cats besides him since the battle. We decided to keep our heads down because BurntClan won't be thrilled that we...'pardoned' Quietshadow." Not like I could have beaten him anyways...I was pitiful back then. Losing to even a medicine cat.

"Good to hear that. To be honest, when I saw you two I thought perhaps you had to come to deal with me for how I betrayed BurntClan," Owlspot murmured.
"I hope that you haven't been hunting on our territory," Coppertail meowed. His eyes were narrowed in anger at the sheer thought that these rogues would dare steal their prey and then ask for Quietshadow.
Spider chuckled good-heartedly. "Never! We were ridding RainClan of a few extra mice. Everybody knows that they barely hunt all over their territory."
As the deputy of BeachClan, Coppertail pretended not to hear what Spider had said. If he didn't hear that the rogues had been hunting in RainClan, he couldn't tell Hawkstar. "Mhmm...." he murmured.

"I'm sure they don't even know about the place where we were staying," Nightshade added. "I don't think we saw any patrols over the whole time while we were there--oops." The rogue stopped mid-sentence, hoping that she hadn't said too much. Nevertheless, she made a quick mental note of never going on RainClan territory unless she heard that patrols were still neglecting to pass by that old twoleg nest. "By the way, Owlspot, we sort of betrayed BurntClan. We didn't lay a claw on Quietshadow and I couldn't have done any real damage anyways...I forget what Spider did...but anyways, I plan to remain neutral in future conflicts that don't concern me."

Coppertail's ears flicked up. Nightshade's comment had piqued his interest. When he got back to camp he would tell Icestar what the rogue had said and what that implied: RainClan was light on patrols. We could expand our territory over the river...
Spider flicked his tail over Nightshade's flanks. "I kind of jumped on the poor guy. I didn't know who he was but I backed off when Nightshade came over. I think I'll stay out of Clan battles from now on." Owlspot smiled weakly. It was good to hear that the pair of black cats had removed themselves from BurntClan and didn't have any contact with them. It was nice seeing them happy and carefree although he knew if they ever returned to the Rogue Nest they would most likely be killed. "You'll take care won't you? Stay away from Cactus and Burntstar."

"Oh, I will," Nightshade assured Owlspot. "Those two were a bit scary--not to mention that they'd be able to crush me if I ever got into a fight with them," she added, looking down at her small frame. "We might come to the twoleg nest to visit Spider's sister next, even though I hate being in close proximity to twolegs. You know," she mewed, turning towards Spider, "Dream is pretty tough, especially for a kittypet. She probably could have beat half of MountainClan in a fight, easy."

Browntail smirked as he heard the mountain cat give off their ideas and her ideas. Browntail's eye rolled and then tried to look back. "Hey, Coppertail, I'll take all the fresh-kill back, to make it easier so no cat has to come back." Browntail asked, knowing that the deputy was irritated with him. Browntail didn't really like him either, seeing the scar Coppertail left on his tail.

"After seeing Flaxeyes fought Cactus and everybody knows that she is a large cat. Still, he gave her a few wounds to lick," Owlspot commented. His eyes glazed over and he continued walking but a slower pace. His head was lost in the memories of the BurntClan fight. He didn't think he would ever be able to forget the way his father called him to help him. Owlspot shuddered.
"Dream was a rogue first and then a kittypet. We could meet her anywhere," Spider told Nightshade, smiling. "I'm sure her leg has healed enough to come to the forest. She hates being couped up inside anyway." "Wait. Isn't Dream and grey tabby? The one who took a chunk out of Rockfang? Big angry tortoiseshell?" Coppertail exclaimed suddenly. Anybody with the guts to take on the AquaClan deputy and then survive was a legend in his books. Spider beamed and nodded. He was a little proud of his sister. He couldn't help himself.
The deputy glanced up at Browntail, trying to remember why he had allowed him to lead the patrol in the first place. "Erm, yes. Dragonpaw can help and Thunderpaw if you see him."

Browntail nodded and raced off into the Palm trees, remebering that they left the food by a small, slowly growing Palm Tree. Browntail now had to carry five mice, while Dragonpaw carried a rabbit and three birds. The two Aquaclan walked all the way into the camp, taking the mice, birds, and the rabbit to Silentstep, to get her pick, of course, she picked the Magpie, then to the nursery.

Nightshade nodded, not really paying attention to what they had said. "Could we please go to camp now?" she meowed. "I'd like to be able to see my brother and be able to find a warm place to sleep." The rogue surrepititously took a small step sideways so that she was closer to Spider. Right after she did so, however, she leaned forward and sneezed massively so that a spray of loose sand flew up from where the air had flown out of her mouth. "Sorry."
