Jaystar sighed as he entered Aquaclan's camp. Finally. He flicked his tail again to dismiss his warriors. "We will discuss what happened later" He assured them. He turned his head and spotted his daughter, Quailkit. "So she did come to Aquaclan" Jaystar padded up and purred.

Moonstream nodded. She padded away from the leader's den, embarressed. "I found her over by the Rushing River, Owlspot and I both agreed you should decide what we should do." She licked her chest fur, beckoning Quailkit over with her tail.

"Hi," Quailkit meowed nervously. "If you let me stay and stuff, can I have my apprentice ceremony soon? Everyone else has had it." She flicked her tail and sat down, wrapping it around her paws. "I swam--well, not really swam, more like drifted--over here."

Jaystar's nostrils flared. "I suppose you could stay, but do you realize how much trouble you would've caused Beachclan AND Aquaclan?" He looked at his daughter.

"Yeah, actually," Quailkit meowed. "From the sounds of it there's been this huge battle between you two." She looked away before getting an idea. "But that means that we'll have another warrior in AquaClan..." Her voice hopefully trailed away.

Browntail jumped out a bush with a rabbit in his jaws. He set it down in the frsh-kill pile and looked at Quailkit. "Now who is this," he meowed, sniffing the kit. "IT smells like a Beachclan cat." he hissed, lifting his head. "Wait, isn't this Tigerstripe's kit?" he asked, shocked. "I'll walk her home," he meowed.

Moonstream shook her head, a little annoyed by how everyone was jumping to send Quailkit home. Wait, Tigerstripe's kit? But she was Jaystar's-unless...The silver she-cat didn't want to think about it. "No, Quailkit has come to live in AquaClan. Jaystar, would you like to lie down? I'll go fetch some catmint and," Moonstream said, flicking the raindrops off her ears, "lavender. You should rest." She looked toward her leader, sending a message through her eyes...You need to rest if you want to get better. She hoped that that was enough.

"No Browntail, I'll allow her to stay in my clan" Jaystar rasped as his throat began to get sore. He coughed rapidly a few times. "I must do the ceremony first Moonstream, then I'll lie down" He meowed weakly.

Moonstream gave him a hard stare. "Jaystar, if you know what's good for you, you'll rest," she said. She glanced at Quailkit from the corner of her eyes. "I'm sure Quailkit can wait for her father's health. At least just take a short rest. I'll bring some tansy and honey to your den." Please, let him listen to me!

"I'll wait; it's no problem," Quailkit meowed politely. "I don't want Dad to get sick." She sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws before giving her lower leg a quick lick. "I suppose it's what I deserve for running away..."

Moonstream perked up a bit, seeing that Quailkit agreed. "See? She doesn't mind! Do you need any help getting to your den?" I'm pushing it, but Jaystar can't lose another life! He's only got 3 left!

Jaystar coughed harder a few times, and stared hard at Moonstream. "Very well" He rasped "I can get to my den without any help thanks" He coughed again, and staggered back inside his den.

Moonstream watched as her leader went to his den. She turned to Quailkit. "You can go get acquainted with the other apprentices if you'd like. They'll be your denmates soon enough." She excused herself and padded over to her den, grabbing some tansy and moss soaked in honey (OOC: I have no idea how they do this and it doesn't say in Secrets of the Clans. Does anyone else know?) before slipping out again. She walked over to the leader's den.

Quailkit nodded. "Yes, Moonstream," she meowed before padding off in the direction of the apprentices' den. Upon reaching it, she found a nest that smelled to be vacant and curled up in it. However, she was far from wanting to sleep. Jaystar breathed heavily as sleep did not come easily to him. He curled into a ball to get more comfortable, but he could not help thinking about what had happened. All of Beachclan must have known about him and Tigerstripe. Perhaps his own clan knew as well. He sighed, his eyes clouded with grief. His pelt was still wet from the river, and his throat was sore and he was still coughing rapidly.

Moonstrea announced her arrival before slipping inside. Jaystar was lying down in his nest, thankfully. She put the tansy and honey-soaked moss near him. She didn't watch to make sure he took the honey or tansy. She knew she had better luck just leaving him to it. She backed out slowly, and went back to her den. Nobody, hopefully, needed her, so she curled up in her nest and let sleep cloud her mind.

Jaystar eyed the honey and tansy. He didn't take them. Instead, he layed in his den feeling miserable. Jaystar stood up, and padded back further into his den, not wanting to be disturbed. He fell asleep, and wondered if Starclan would speak to him in a dream.
