Samuel sniffed the air, his creamy fur reflecting the sun healthily as he stood upon the stump of an old, long dead oak. He turned his head slightly before jumping to the ground, following the strong scent of many cats. He stopped along the edge of a small, beat down clearing, eyeing as a cat limped off into the woods. Interesting. He had smelt the stale stench of blood earlier. Maybe the cats here had gotten into a fight? More than likely, considering the nature of most of the rogues he had come across in his travels.

Kaelia blearily raised her head, wincing as the sun reached her eyes. She'd been curled up in the shadow of a large, dead tree, and the decaying wood crumbled as she heaved herself up, her scrawny body scraping against it. A patchy cream cat was standing at the edge of the clearing a few fox-lengths away - a cat Kaelia had never seen before. She stared at him for a moment, then let out a long yawn. Newcomers weren't usually welcomed so easily - she supposed there'd be a fight sooner or later. Fighting. Pointless, pointless, pointless. Almost as pointless as everything else. She padded forward into the clearing, turned toward the new rogue, and sat down.

Samuel turned his attention to a she-cat who had, apparently, spotted him. He smiled to himself and shrigged inwardly. Ah well. So much for being stealthy. He began to pad toward her, his muscles tense, yet relaxed and ready to move, just in case this she-cat was hostile.

Kaelia let the tom come to her, her gaze fixed forward, but on nothing in particular. "Looking for someone?" She asked flatly as he approached, her voice cracking with disuse. I am. Not that he cares, though. Not that I particularly care what he's doing either.

Samuel blinked at her. "Oh no. I'm just wandering," he mewed, voice fluid and cold. "Though, I am here on a rumor. I am EXTREMELY interested in these 'clan' cats." He eyed her, the xpression in his eyes clod and caculating, sizing her up in case of a fight.

Hmph. Clan cats. Don't see what's so interesting about them. Of all the mouse-brained ideas and uninteresting, annoying things, these so-called 'clans' had always been the worst. Kaelia, however, doubted her opinion would be minded in the least by the cream-coloured newcomer. "I see," she meowed, her voice as monotonous as ever. "What, exactly, are you interested in?" She'd been to the territories of the clans before; she supposed she might as well find him what he was looking for - if she was able.

Samuel paused and lifted his head, thinking. "Hmmm, well I guess I'm interested in them in general. I don't know why," he mewed, sitting down. "In truth, it rather disgusts me that I'm interested in cats that barely leave their own nests, but I guess that is life, hmmm? We have no control over such things." He then returned his gaze to her. "Besides, this 'Tigerstar' I've heard rumors about is interesting, even if he died many moons ago."

We don't seem to have control over much, do we? Kaelia thought bitterly. She thought she'd heard the name 'Tigerstar' before, but couldn't remember who he was. "Tigerstar, Tigerstar, Tigerstar," she muttered in a low voice. "Oh, Tigerstar. That cat that tried to take over the forest... or something?" She'd heard something about him from someone sometime, but couldn't remember paying much attention. To her, power was pointless. "You like his style, then?"

Samuel shrugged, closing his eyes. "I admit, yes," he said. He then opened his eyes and turned to look at the many dens scattered around. "So...was there a fight recently, or did someone get in a scuffle? All the cats I've seen here seemed injured."

"Well, yeah," Kaelia muttered. "Fights happen all the time around here. But, now, I think there was some big battle recently... who was it, now? Burn-somethingorother, or..." She closed her eyes, trying to think - which she realized she didn't do very much. "Well, he came in here, wanted us to join some clan or something..." She sighed. "Meh, I don't remember. I'm not the one to talk to about that."

Samuel eyed the area, blinking. "Well, it was very nice talking to you," he said, turning back to smile at her. "Have a nice life," he mewed before trotting, his tail up.

"A nice life?" Kaelia mumbled to herself. "A nice life." She let out a small croak of laughter - the first time she'd laughed in seasons and seasons. This cat was... well, interesting, she realized, as much as she hated to admit it. She blinked slowly as she watched him walk across the clearing, wondering whether she should bother to follow him. What's this cat planning to do, eh?

Samuel hummed as he trotted, leaving the small clearing and pushing through the weeds. He looked around, stopping only to taste and sniff the air. The smell of more rogues hit him and he looked around, licking his lips.
