Grasskit didn't know quite where he was, or quite what was going on. The first thing that he noticed, of course, was that he could no longer feel the warmth of his mother's body, nor the soft, gentle sensation of licking. Wanting to feel that once more, he tried to squirm back, but felt only a gentle breeze rippling through his thin fur. It wasn't a particularly bad feeling, though - actually, it felt quite nice in comparison to squirming around, barely able to breathe. The next thing he knew, his fiery golden eyes were wide open, and he could see. What was this strange sensation? Above him were countless tiny glowing orbs - lighting some sort of path for him to follow. But should he really keep going? He looked around, wondering what to do.

Morningstar padded up to the kit. "Welcome. I am Morningstar. You are now in Starclan." she purred softly. Her tone was calming. She smiled and licked the small scrap of fur, a nice welcoming touch. Her tounge rapped around his head. She felt a warm touch to herself as like she was a secret queen again. She lifted her head up and nodded. "You can now watch you mother from the clouds, along with your other family members. Beachclan is doing well, and you missed something that could of killed you. The smoke might rise into their camp. You'll never know till it happens." she meowed quietly. She nodded and started to walk away. Her body was getting fader while she walked into the clouds.

Grasskit turned, blinking at the sound of the warm voice near him, surprised that he could understand what it was saying. He looked at the starry she-cat curiously, not knowing what to say. Was the cat saying that his mother in danger? Should he go back? He looked down, and was able to see the BeachClan camp, filled with frantic cats from both BeachClan and AquaClan. Where was his mother? "Emberlight!" he called his mother's name, not knowing that she'd never be able to hear him. "Mother..." his voice trailed off as he caught sight of the bright she-cat walking up the long path of tiny lights, and he felt a burning desire to follow her. "Wait," he said softly, padding curiously after her through the stars. He wondered where they might be going.

"Wait for what?" Morningstar asked. "There is nothing you really have to wait for here. You'll be seeing you mother soon, maybe if I let you slip into a dream," she meowed as she saw the eyes on the kits face. "Your mother is fine, along with your kin, you dad is a little worried though," she laughed. She jumped onto another cloud, entering Starclan. "Up here," she called. All they saw was a meadow. Full of prey and happiness. Along with a peaceful river and other cats!

Grasskit was slightly befuddled, but this certainly seemed like a nice place. He supposed it wasn't surprising, that this was a place of freedom, too. He wondered what it would be like, to talk to his mother in a dream - whatever that might be. It would be good to see her again, but he no longer felt the desire to curl up against her anymore - he felt almost as if he were her guide, now.
The starry calico she-cat leaped forward onto a cloud, and the patchy golden tabby watched her curiously, wondering how he might go about following her. Experimentally, he prepared to make the jump himself, and realized that it was surprisingly simple to do so - and it felt good, like he was flying. Actually, he probably was. As he landed gently amongst the shimmering vapours, he could see a beautiful field among the stars, filled with bright cats, their starry pelts shimmering. A gentle river cut its way through the field, too, and Grasskit's golden eyes widened. "It's - it's amazing!" he mewed in awe, turning his head to look around him. "I'm never going to grow up here, am I?" he realized suddenly. "Is that a good thing?"

Morningstar started to walked forward until she heard the small voice. "No, but you can learn all sorts of things, you won't grow any bigger. But you could learn some things." she purred. She walked in the short grass. It felt good along her paws. She stopped and stuck her head near the river, sucking up some water. "You can do everything you can do in the clans, and more." she whispered.

Grasskit followed Morningstar once more, feeling the soft grass rippling around his paws. "Learn?" he asked, tipping his head curiously as he arrived next to her on the bank. He peered into the twinkling river, his eyes widening as he looked more closely - he could see the cats of the clans moving about far below. "I'll be able to watch them all the time... and talk to them in dreams," he meowed. "And even though I'm in StarClan, I can learn from them... right?" He took a sip of the water - the taste was beautiful.

"Correct young one," she purred. "You can learn to swim from me, hunt, from however you plead. You can learn how to travel the skies. How about you and I go to the medicine cat meeting together?" she asked. All of a sudden she heard the grass crack. "Amberstar, I know your there," Morningstar meowed. "So, what does it have to mean to get away from Oceanstar?" she hissed. "I heard that!" a grey and white she-cat hissed. "Great," Morningstar hissed under her breath. "Grasskit, meet Amberstar and Oceanstar," she meowed, she pointed her tail to each cat. Amberstar dipped her head. Oceanstar just sat there.

"The medicine cat meeting? O-okay." Grasskit wasn't quite sure what that was, but if it gave him a chance to see the world below them - the one he'd never looked upon as a living cat, he supposed it would be amazing. He heard Morningstar's voice again, and turned around in surprise as two more StarClan cats emerged - a tortoiseshell, and a small grey-and-white she-cat. "It's nice to meet you," he meowed, giggling a little at their conversation. He wondered how many cats there were in StarClan - more than the ones he could see right now, by any means. "So, um, what do we do at the medicine cat meeting?" he asked softly.

Morningstar smiled as Grasskit giggled. She heard his small voice again. "We tell the medicine cat's what goes on the the future." she replied. She started to walk along side the river, Oceanstar and Amberstar followed. "Yes, I need to talk to Whitestar. But the thing is, he might not come to see us soon." she hissed. "Then tell Rainlight." Morningstar hissed back. Oceanstar said nothing. Morningstar looked at a small mouse run across her feet. She ignored it's sent and kept walking.

The... future? Grasskit walked along the river with the three cats. He listened quietly to their conversation, though he wasn't quite sure what they were talking about. Do I know the future, too? Maybe I just don't know I know it. It was slightly confusing, yet pleasing at the same time. He blinked in surprise once more as something scampered by them - could it have been a little cat like him? It had seemed too small, though, and it was gone before he had a chance to really look at it. "Is that where we're going now?" he asked. "The medicine cats' dreams?"

"Poor thing," a white slender white she-cat murmured. She couldn't imagine what the BeachClan kit was feeling, away from his mother and stranded in such a strange place. "Lilywing, Morningstar is with him. He's safe," her mate told her," Remember when we first met our kits here?" She nodded sadly. Three of her four kits had died at birth and now lived in StarClan. Robinfur and her had joined them later. And yes, she could remember when she had first met them. The kits she had a chance to know.
"Why didn't you tell me there was a new cat?!" screeched a golden she-cat. She was standing upstream, her amber eyes twinkling with excitement. Sunpaw hurtled across the meadow and ploughed into Grasskit. "Hi! I'm Sunpaw!" she greeted.

Right as he'd asked his question, Grasskit was sent tumbling over by another StarClan cat. He sat up and looked at her, his ears pricked straight up with a sudden delighted surprise. "I'm Grasskit," he meowed with a giggle, still slightly befuddled by what had just happened. "I'm going to the medicine cat meeting!" He tipped his head in the direction of the three leaders. "At least, I think that's where I'm going."

"Sandpaw, I need to catch up and see what Rainclan is up too, can you show Grasskit around?" she asked. She smiled and rapped her tail around Oceanstar's shoulder. "Lets go," she hissed to the two older leaders. Oceanstar ignored her and Ambertstar laughed as Morningstar looked at Oceanstar. Oceanstar hissed at Amberstar.

"Really?!" she meowed, excitedly. "I've been to a leader's ceremony. It was fun. I talked to Whitestar and Hawkstar. They're really nice." Her flicked towards Morningstar. What would the old BeachClan leader possibly want to know about RainClan. And my name is Sunpaw... "Okay," she meowed, dipping her head towards the leader. She turned her full attention back to Grasskit. "Let's play the meeting game!" she announced. The 'meeting game' consisted of simply introducing yourself to a StarClan, catching their name and running off to the next cat. It was a great way to meet everyone but not a great way to make friends. Apparently it is rude to simply run off in the middle of a conversation.
