Stormstrike ruffled his fur against the chilly winds, hunching his shoulder over to try to block some of it. He could be inside instead of sitting out near the doorway, but it was too crowded for him in the barn with all these cats. Besides, he didn't feel at ease near the twolegs. Keeping watch couldn't do any harm and it gave him some space. He stretched, yawning as well. Still, he was pretty tired from the long journey here, it had only been a day since then. Looking up to the white-gray sky, he frowned. Would they forever be seperated from their real home?

Faunus was padding up towards the barn, his pawsteps purposely slow. The tom was exhausted. He had risen with the sun and began his search over the snow swept territory for anything resembling prey. So far he was returning with a thin rabbit, cold feet and several fresh scratches on his flank for his troubles. Apparently he had strayed too far for the rogues' liking. But it was worth it, for now I have a whole rabbit. With his head down and ears slow to protect himself from the chilling wind, Faunus almost didn't see the lone warrior. If he hadn't needed to look up to check his bearing he probably would of walked right into Stormstrike! The loner grinned at the Clan cat over the rabbit's body hoping that the sight of food might cheer him up.

Stormstrike's ears twitched at the sound of pawsteps, looking down from the sky to see Faunus. He smiled in a friendly way, his eyes barely glancing to the rabbit. It's not that he wasn't grateful for the other cat's actions, he just knew that the rabbit would not be for him. It would go to the kits, queens, then apprentices. And he wouldn't have it any other way, they needed it more than him now anyway. Still, it had been a long time since he had caught a nice fish or thrush. Dipping his head towards the loner, he noticed the fresh scratches. "Did the rabbit put up that much of a fight?" he asked, looking from the scratches to the thin rabbit.

Faunus placed the rabbit carefully at his feet and returned Stormstrike's smile. Although he was a little disappointed to see that the tom wasn't even the little bit interested in his kill he was happy to see him perk up. The loner still remembered Clan customs of feeding queens and kits first but his excitement in just catching the rabbit had caused him to forget there wouldn't be enough leftover to feed warrior's like Stormstrike. He chuckled lightly at the warrior's comment and turned his head to lick the scratches on his flank. "The rabbit wasn't a problem," he explained, a touch of amusement in his voice," The angry looking rogue who told me that kittypets belonged with their twolegs was." Almost as if he was ashamed, Faunus hunched up his shoulder, hiding the collar. But then on, it could of just been an attempt to chase away the cold...

Stormstrike frowned at his explaination, noticing his action of hunching his shoulders. "Well, sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant encounter, but thank you for the fresh-kill." he said, smiling again gratefully. After the battle with the rogues, he was a little surprised any cat would want to help the clans, but Faunus had fought with them and was a good friend to Hawkstar. Hesitant at first to ask, he finally looked from the rabbit to Faunus. "If you don't mind me asking...you're a loner, not like any kittypet I've seen. So...why do you keep that collar on?" he asked, truly interested.

Faunus smiled at the warrior to show he wasn't bothered by the 'unpleasant encounter'. "The rogues and I have never seen eye to eye," he chuckled," They don't want anything to do with me because I like the Clan cats." He tilted his head at Stormstrike's question and stretched his neck to reveal the braided leather collar. It was an old, scratched thing and bore the marks of a hard life. "I can't get it off," Faunus stated simply. "I'm waiting for it to wear down enough to snap it. Anyway, I kind of like it. It's a reminder to me of my old life so I won't forget what I left behind. When I'm out chasing rabbits in a cold leaf-bare like this, I can think about how I never felt the thrill of the chase before leaving my garden. I'm a wild cat."

Stormstrike smiled at his comment about the rogues, chuckling lightly. "Seems they don't think very well of us, now do they?" he said with a hint of amusement, shaking his head. Though he joked, he still remembered the rogue that had snapped his leg, the injury throbbing at the painful memory. He cocked his head, listening carefully as he told him about the collar. "Ah, makes sense." He paused a moment, glancing down before continuing. "If you think about it that way...I have a reminder of my own. Of the battle, where all the clans united." he said, glancing to his leg then to sky with a sigh. "Seems a lot of things have changed since then...."

"I wouldn't worry too much about it," Faunus told Stormstrike gently. "Not all rogues are bad. Just look at Spider and Nightshade. Although, the second, I'm sure, was a Clan cat before." He followed the tom's gaze to his leg, remembering how he had watched the young cat limping. "Ah," he sighed, nodding. "Every warrior has a scar or two. You're not the only one who escaped that battle with injury. You'll probably take pleasure in the fact that one rogue still limps from Rockfang's furious bite!" He laughed light-heartedly, hoping to bring a more positive light to the situation.

Stormstrike couldn't help but laugh as well at the older cat's comment. He knew Rockfang could be touchy and grumpy, but it always amused him when he heard other cats talk about his deputy. Seemed she scared a lot of cats, including some of their own apprentices. "He will probably never face her again out of sheer fright!" he said as he laughed. It felt good to laugh again, especially when it had felt like so many moons since he had. Maybe because there hadn't been that much to laugh about. But now, despite their current situation, this loner had made him laugh like he used to. He smiled to Faunus, a real warm and grateful smile. "Thanks Faunus....for helping us. Now and before."

Faunus ducked his head and returned the warm grin. Stormstrike's sincerity touched him. He'd travelled far and wide, meeting cats everywhere but some of the ones in the bay had to be the nicest cats he'd ever met. "I'm here to help," he meowed softly. Something that the warrior had said before came to him and he gave a loud mrrow of laughter. "That rouge was actually a she-cat," he told Stormstrike," And she's more kittypet really. In fact, she's Spider's sister. I wouldn't be surprised if she turned up here." He could imagine how well that would go. Anyway, the barn was getting quite crowded with all these new cats.

Twilightpaw and Rainpaw were easedropping on the two tom's conversation. "Rockfang's a kittypet!" Rainpaw meowed. "Oh my gosh! You're being mentored by a kittypet!" Twilightpaw teased. She let out a soft purr. "I won't take orders from her if she's she's going to teach me softly." Rainpaw was more angry than sad. Then she noticed she was talking a little loud. "Fox-dung! I think they can hear us!" "Run!" Twilightpaw paniced.She jumped to her paws and was ready to bolt in any direction.

{Have they mistaken the cat Faunus is talking about for Rockfang? xD He's talking about Dream.}
Faunus was aware of the apprentices' presence, his ears perked in their direction. He grinned and looked over Stormstrike's shoulder, where he could see the two she-cats peering through the doorway of the Barn. "I wasn't aware that Rockfang was a kittypet," he chuckled, looking to Stormstrike. "When did that happen? I couldn't imagine such a fiesty warrior living a soft life."

Stormstrike frowned, shaking his head. "Certainly not. I think I would have known about that." he said, seeing the light in Faunus' eyes and having heard the she-cats himself, he chuckled. "She's anything but that. No kittypet could be that fierce." He curled his tail around his paws, looking up to the sky as the snow started to slow. "Seems we may see an end to this after all..."

{Faunus could tell them if you want.}
"Oh you never know," Faunus told Stormstrike with a shrug of his shoulders," I've known some scary kittypets in my time. Weren't her parents rogues though? Or am I confused?" He shook melting snowflakes from his pelt and looked up at the sky. It certaintly was slowing. Perhaps there was an end to the harsh weather?
