Littlekit gave Samuel a weak snarl and the fur on his back bristled. Hopefully he appeared threatening and not like the scared kit he was.
Surprise clouded Heronkit's eyes at Lichenpelt's question but quickly disappeared, replaced with a look of sincerity. "No Lichepelt," he meowed quietly," There was nobody but us. Just some old scents." He didn't want the queen to know about Samuel because he was sure that she would want to chase him off the territory. He knew that the rogue was not someone to mess with. Heronkit glanced back at the twoleg nest. Samuel may have won this time but the next fight is mine...

Samuel turned, hearing Littlekit snarl. He glared at the kit with his sharp, almost hawk-like eyes. He turned and bounced away, heading for the hole in which he had arrived; an old cat flap that had lost its flap.
Lichenpelt tilted her head, narrowing her eyes. The scent was awfully fresh. But she shook it off. It was probably some old lost kittypet returning to its old home...but that seemed unlikely. The nest seemed to have been abandoned for years. "In any case, get your tails out here! You're mother is worried sick!" she mewed, narrowing her eyes. "And be quick about it!"

Lightningkit glanced once more over his shoulder, watching the rogue disappear out the hole. He met the tom's eyes, holding his glare moment before he disappeared. He knew that Samuel would be back. He looked to his brothers, seeing the look in Heronkit's eyes. Looks like he found someone he was looking forward to beating....if he was ready for it. "Coming Lichenpelt!" he said, giving Heronkit a meaningful look before slipping out the small hole.

"Yes Lichenpelt," Littlekit murmured unhappily. He started walking ahead, his tail dragging behind him on the ground. So far, this adventure had rewarded him with cuts from thorn bushes, bruises and covered in dust. He could also make out Samuel's scent. He shuddered. "Mother is always worrying!" Heronkit complained," We're nearly apprentices!" He couldn't wait until his training, then he would be able to fight rogue's like Samuel. Nobody would ever dare to attack him. He smiled at the idea.

"Yes, you are, but if you pull off another stunt like this one, you won't be apprentices till my age!" Lichenpelt mewed, waiting for the three kits to emerge. "You're father's not going be very happy when he founds out where you were."

Littlekit grimaced at the idea of having to wait until Lichenpelt's age to became an apprentice. He wanted to be training now! He was sick of getting pushed around. He knew when they got back to camp he would be immediately mollycoddled by his mother. I'm not a baby...
Heronkit rolled his eyes. There was no way his father would stop them from becomming apprentices. Imagine what the other Clans would say if they found out that the RainClan leader's kits were not in training after six moons. He shook his head at the idea. There had been only one kit in RainClan to ever have her apprentince ceremony postponed and that was Maplepaw. She was always getting sick or injured. Her brother had already been made a warrior.

Lichepelt snorted, swishing her tail. "Did you not hear me? Hurry up!" she mewed, voice agitated. They were taking too long for her tastes.

The same thoughts were flashing through Lightningkit's mind. He wanted to become a warrior so bad, he could taste it. But Lichenpelt was right, their father would be disappointed and they really shouldn't have been here. 'Mother shouldn't have worried....but unless she did, Samuel would have had us for sure...' he thought realistically, slipping out the hole to come face to face with Lichenpelt. "Sorry..." he murmured.

Lichenpelt scuffed him over the ear, glaring. "You're lucky you're dad didn't find you," she said, turning back to the hole, waiting for the other two.

Heronkit slipped out the door and vanished into the over-grown garden. He doubted that Hawkstar would punish them too badly. Everybody knew that when it came to him and his siblings, his parents were soft and sweet as honey. He laughed allowed at that idea. "Race you back to camp!" he called before darting off into the forest.
Littlekit groaned and dragged himself down the rotton old steps. How Heronkit had the energy to race he didn't know. He was sore all over and wanted nothing more to curl up in the Nursery with a mouse to eat. Walking back to camp seemed a daunting task and Littlekit let the idea of having his mother carry him pass into his mind. I'm not a kit! I'm a warrior! he told himself, sternly.

Lichenpelt groaned, watching as Heronkit vanished, darting away to camp. "If he gets lost, I'm not looking for him," she grumbled, stalking off, certain the kits were behind her.

Lightningkit grinned as Heronkit exclaimed the challenge. Though his brother definately had the upper hand in size, speed was Lightningkit's specialtly. "Your on!" he said, quickly bounding after him. "I'll make sure he doesn't get lost!" he called to Lichenpelt before disappearing as well. His long strides quickly caught up to his brother with a small lead. "Last one is a mousebrain!" he said playfully, passing him and brushing through the underbrush, loving the breeze through his fur.

Lichenpelt groaned, watching Lightningkit race off. She huffed before looking to Littlekit, half expecting him to run off as well.
