"Are you sure we should be here?"
A lean and agile looking cat stood beside another broader and bulkier tom. He had green eyes and dark midnight black fur, covering every inch of his body except his muzzle and odd marking across his left eye. It was the shape of a lightning bolt. The tom beside him, gray in color, seemed very different compared to him. But if if you looked at the two, side by side, you could see the faint resemblance. Though he was the smaller of the two, both were small in size. maybe because they were just just six month old kits, about to be apprentices. Lightningkit looked to Heronkit again, then looked over his shoulder. "We could get in real trouble. And shouldn't we wait on Littlekit, he kinda fell behind..." he said, sounding nervous as he looked up at the big building in front of him.

Bright blue eyes took in the full size of the old twoleg nest and widened in amazement. In their adventures, Lightningkit and him (and occassionally Littlekit), had never traveled far enough to reach the mysterious twoleg place. But here was a nest right here in RainClan! Heronkit ran ahead through the long grass and bounded up the rickety stairs, ignoring Lightnigkit's remark. "Littlekit will catch up," he meowed dismissevly. "A patrol will find him if he gets lost." He took in a deep breath, letting the scents roll of his tongue. There was an odd musty smell he associated with the building itself and tang of two unfamiliar cats. Rogues. It was faint but shook Heronkit's confidence a little. If the rogues came back they could be killed.
A twig snapped under a small white paw causing it's owner to leap forward wailing. His soft nursery fur was fluffed up in alarm while his pinprick claws were unsheathed. Even the most seasoned warrior would be surprised if you told them this tom was nearly an apprentice. Littlekit took several shaky breaths and began backing away slowly. Like his brothers had shown him, he began scenting the air for any sign of danger but all he could smell was his own fear scent. He was overwhelmed with embrassment when he realiseed his legs were shaking. "You are a warrior," he told himself," You are strong and brave and not afraid of things that go bump in the night." He let his words sink in as he stumbled ahead through the thick and thorny undergrowth. He might not be afraid of the things that go bump in the night but he was certaintly afraid of being eaten or attacked. In every shadow he saw a badger hiding, in every bush he saw a rogue's eyes glinting and under those tree roots he could swear he saw bright auburn fur.

"That's the problem. We'll be in big trouble if we get caught. Littlekit will squeal on us." Lightningkit replied, looking over his shoulder one more time before taking a long stride and two bounds up the stairs. His long legs took up most of his body and now that he had mostly grown into them, it made him quicker instead of clumsier. As he stuck his head in behind his brother, he scented the air as well, smelling all the scents in the cabin. He glanced at Heronkit, noticing his expression change slightly. "Something wrong?" he asked curiously. Either he hadn't caught the faint scent or he was wondering if Heronkit had as well.
((Lol Ali. Things that go bump in the night, I just heard a song about that! xD))

"I'm pretty sure Littlekit won't squeal," Heronkit meowed, a cold edge to his voice. If the small white tom didn't want to spend his whole apprenticeship being bullied by him, he would keep his mouth shut. The constant sparring between the two cats weren't for nothing. Everything Heronkit did tended to have an alterior motive and in this case his sparring had led to a younger brother eager to please. Ignoring Lightingkit and with his grey fur bristling with a mixture of fear and excitement, Heronkit moved further inside the cabin. The gap in the wood of the door was just big enough for the six month old cat to fit through. A few stray splinters snagged at his fur and scratched at his skin, but did nothing to deter his determination. "Nothing wrong at all," he announced. "There's obviousily no rogues here." His voice held a patronising tone as if it was his brother and not him who was afraid.
(( Weird... ))

Lightningkit looked to Heronkit then back to the forest. He was torn between his brothers really. Should he go back and get Littlekit or stay with Heronkit because he knew he would probably try to do something dangerous. 'Littlekit will catch up eventually.' he decided at last, following Heronkit through the gap. Since his body was smaller in size than his brothers, he was able to squeeze through with more ease. He looked at Heronkit as he spoke, rolling his eyes. He had scented the rogues scent as well and the truth was he felt like he needed to stay with him. Just because. if the rogues came back, Littlekit would be safer in the forest while Heronkit would be in trouble here. And two was better than one, cause even though they constantly differed on subjects, Lightningkit trusted Heronkit, expecting him to watch his back in a fight. "Obviously. So need to be scared Heronkit." he teased slightly, pushing his brothers shoulder with his paw.

(Hmmm....I haven't been giving Samuel any love....)
The thin tom's ears twitched, his cold ye moving around what once had been th ekitchen. He grinned, sniffiing the air, ears twitching. Cats. And small, squeaky one at that. Kits. He chuckled, keeping his voice down and moving slowly as he padded to the old opening leading into the hallway. This place had caught his eye while wandering around these territories. It was pretty interesting and had a similar layout to his kithood home.

"I'm not scared!" Heronkit snapped at his brother, stumbling to keep his balance. Even though the young tom appeared sturdy and muscular, he often stood with his paws too close together making it easy to push him over. From one of the small rooms in the little building, Heronkit heard a noise like chuckling. In fact, that was exactly what it was. They were not alone in the nest.

Samuel padded almost soundlessly down the hall, the only clue to his presence the small thumps his paws made. He stopped and, staying close to teh shadows, the speckled tom watched as three, young cats came almost stumbling through the hole in the wall. The only notion to his presence was the light reflecting off his eyes.

Lightningkit grinned, "Yeah right, of course your not scared." he teased, laughing slightly. He padded forward a few steps, then looked back. "Come on, I thought you said you weren't scared?" he said then turned and bounded more into the nest. He hadn't heard the chuckling before, but he found out soon enough someone else was there when he collided with him, making him fall back on his flank with a dazed look on his face.

Samuel stumbled slightly, but remained on his paws. He shook his sleek head, grinning down at the kit pleasantly. "My, my, you're a little young to be wandering from your mother," he said, voice musical.

Heronkit hissed at his brother and forced his feet into motion. No matter how much he denided it, he was afraid. The fur along his back bristled with every unknown scent and sound and he quickly began wishing to be back in the Nursery. I'll never be a warrior he thought miserably. He wasn't as brave as he made himself out to be. Taking a deep breath, he remembered what Faunus had told them on one of his visists,to be brave you must first be really scared, and plowed on ahead right towards Samuel. Luckily for Heronkit, he caught the rogue's scent and didn't have the embrassment of walking right into the rogue. Unfortunately, he was knocked over by the stumbling Lightingkit. "Get off!" he squealed, shoving the black and white cat. Puffing out his chest, Heronkit drew himself up to his full height and looked straight into Samuel's eyes. "We're warriors for your information!"

Samuel blinked, smile widening, but flattened his ears. 'Oh yes, of course you are," he said, blinking his amber eyes. "So, that must mean you'd be ready to kill, if necessary, correct?" His voice took on a more sisnister turn at that, a bit of malice hanging on his words.

Lightningkit regained his footing after being pushed back by Heronkit, blinking away the spots in his vision. He stood behind his brother, trying to look bigger as well. It failed, seeing as he would never compare in bulk. Instead of wary and defensive like his brother, Lightningkit blinked curiously at the tom. For some reason he wasn't afraid of the cat. As the cat spoke, Lightningkit stepped out from behind his brother, bringing up his own question before his brother replied. "Who are you?"

Samuel blinked, ears flying up as he turned to Lightningkit. "My, what an unusual marking you have there," he stated absently, smiling pleasantly. "Oh, me? My name is Samuel. I'm just passing through, really."

Heronkit snorted as Samuel answered his brother's question. "Samuel? That's a silly name. I thought rogue's had scary names like...oh...Badger or Snake?" The bulky grey tom glanced at Lightningkit to see whether he agreed with him and he was also curious if Samuel's comment had affected the black and white cat. The marking didn't seem unsual him. It was just a little crooked splodge. It's probably because I've grown used to it.
There was a sharp sound of twigs snapping as Littlekit wiggled under an old bracken bush. Shaking leaves and dirt from his white fur, he surveyed the clearing for Lightningkit and Heronkit. He couldn't see the toms but he could diffently smell them. Littlekit felt a small thrill of pleasure as he recognised their fear scents. "Not so brave are we?" he snorted, leaping through the grass. He stopped to look up in awe at the twoleg nest. Yes it had seemed big before, but now up close it was even bigger. Taking a deep breath he called out to his brothers," Heronkit! Lightningkit! Are you in there...?"

Lightningkit blinked, taken back slightly by the tom's comment. Alike his brother and most everyone else, he had grown use to his marking. His mother had told him it was the reason behind his name, seeing as it resembled a white lightning bolt. When he was younger, he hadn't understood it at first, thinking lightning such as fast. And at that time, he certainly wasn't, his long legs causing him to be a klutz at times. He then smiled slightly, nodding to the tom. "Yes...I'm kinda name for it..." he murmured in reply. He did agree with Heronkit, Samuel didn't seem like a big scary rogue's name at all. As he heard movement outside, he heard his and Heronkit's name being called by a familiar voice. "Littlekit, in here!" he replied, looking to Heronkit as if to say, we forgot about him, but you were right, he caught up.

"Rogue? That's such a nasty label," Samuel said, hurt in his voice. He snorted at the kit's comment at his name, smile vanishing slightly. "Well, I wasn't given that name you know. And besides, those names are all brutal, all describing an egually brutal cat. I prefer to call mine....eh....'intellectual.'"

A frown crossed the tom's face and he shot Lightningkit a look which read be quiet! Heronkit wanted his youngest brother to say outside and away from the susposedly rogue who didn't wish to be called a rogue. If Samuel attacked them Littlekit could easily run for help. That's if the mousbrain didn't get lost first... "If you aren't a rogue then what are you? A kittypet or a loner perhaps?" He shook his head. It didn't really matter what this cat was. What stood was that Samuel was tresspassing on RainClan territory. His father's territory. "I'm Heronkit. That's a warrior name," he stated proudly.
Hearing Lightningkit's reply, Littlekit easily slipped through the door into the old twoleg nest. The place was full with dust and smelt of rotting wood. Twitching his whiskers once, he sneezed loudly and buried his nose into his chest. Why his brother's wanted to come here he would never know.

Samuel's ears twitched, hearing the sneeze. "So, there is a 'Littlekit," he murmered to no one, turning his head only slightly. He turned back to Heronkit. "And, as to what I am, many call me 'monster'," he said, grinning at heronkit with almost terrible maliciousness. "What an interesting warrior name. Heronkit. Now, that doesn't really strike me as a warrior name. Who name's their kit after a bird?" he asked, tilting his head to side. He shot out his paw, claws unsheathed, aiming for the kit's eyes.

Lightningkit went silent from his brother's look, looking over his shoulder to see Littlekit squeeze through the door as well. He didn't look hurt either. Thank goodness, their mother, if they were caught, would be so angry at them for letting him get hurt. Him being the smallest and all. Heronkit didn't really take the responsibility, so Lightningkit was forced to. His ears twitched as he heard the two converse and saw the loner smile out the corner of his eye. He turned just in time to see him take a swing at Heronkit. Thinking fast and on his feet, Lightningkit pushed his brother out of the way and ducked himself. The older cats claw nicked his ear and he felt the pain him immediately. He looked up to Samuel, baring his teeth and crouching low. Heronkit almost got hurt big time by my stupid mistake! I didn't sense anything bad from this cat, but I was wrong! he thought to himself, his green eyes meeting the loners. "My name's Lightningkit, a warrior name you better not forget!" he hissed, his tail twitching angrily.

"Oh, I won't little one," Samuel said, snickering. "Believe me," and he lunged, his larger body connecting with the smaller Lightningkit with extreme force. The two went tumbling on the dusty floor, stirring it up like mad.

Heronkit hadn't had time to reply to Samuel's comment when the rogue took a swipe at him. Before the grey cat could react, his brother had shoved him out of the way and he went tumbling across the floorboards. Heronkit lay dazed, surprised first by Samuel's swift attack and second by Lightnigkit's speed. Shaking dust from his fur, he rose to his paws to watch the rogue plow into the young black and white tom. "Lightningkit!" he yowled.
Littlekit crouched down against the floor, his ears flattened against his head. This was all going wrong. Lightningkit was going to get killed and then Heronkit would be next and then finally him. He urged his feet to move, to run far away from this place but his heart told him not to leave his brothers behind. A warrior never leaves his Clan members behind. Trembling all over, the small white tom rose and barred his teeth. "Don't touch my family!" he yowled as he ran forward and lept onto Samuel's back.

This time, Lightningkit had no chance to react. His breath was knocked from his as the larger cat collide with him. As the two went tumbling, Lightningkit skidded to a stop on his side against the wall. His eyes were closed, his head pounding like crazy as his whole body hurt as well. As he heard his name, he opened his eyes slowly in time to see Littlekit. "L-Littlekit...do-don't.." he said hoarsely, coughing up dust.

Samuel hadn't been expecting weight to suddenly appear on his nack and claws dig into his fur. Oh, no he did not. He growled as his balance was thrown off slightly, annoyed by the miniscule weight on his back. "Oi, get off!" he yelled, shaking his body.

Littlekit was thrown violently from Samuel's back and onto the ground. His small body slide across the ground with the force, stirring up more clouds of dust. The now somewhat dirty white tom lay motionless on the ground. Littlekit wasn't badly hurt but he would certaintly have some bruises.
"Leave them alone!" Heronkit yowled at Samuel, moving to stand squarely in front of the rogue. "We haven't done anything to hurt you so why do you attack us? We haven't even made you leave." He stared up at the older tom with cold blue eyes. He wasn't going to let this go. This cat who called himself 'Samuel' had hurt his siblings. Nobody was allowed to do that. Except him of course.

Samul turned and grinned at heronkit. "Oh, that? Well...I got bored," he said, licking his lips. He was about to lunge at Heronkit when the sound of an angry, female yowl came from somehwere outside.
Lichenpelt yowled, sniffing at the gorund. "Where are you three? Come out now!" she yowled, sniffing at the hole. It was too small for her to go through and she had never been to this part of the forest. She just relied on the kits scents'.

"Lightningkit? You little furball, your mother's worried sick!" Lichenpelt yowled, glaring into the hole. "You and your brothers get out her, now!"
Samuel sniffed and turned, watching as Lightningkit bounded toward the hole. He turned to Littlekit, snarling at the small kit as he wondered if he should stay and fight or run.

Littlekit shakily rose to his paws and stared up at Samuel. The rogue's snarl startled him and his ears flattened against his head. He glared up at him with piercing green eyes.
Heronkit smirked at Samuel. He could tell that the older tom was rethinking his plan. Yes, he could easily fight three untrained kits but a large angry queen? No, probably not. "Maybe another day?" the grey tom sneered, before walking away. He gestured at Littlekit to follow him. Littlekit frowned and padded after him unhappily. "Coming Lichenpelt!" he called.

Samuel's snarl increased as Littlekit strode past him. He shook his head, sniffing. He turned and padded off, leaving the three kits to the not so happy queen.
Lichenpelt sniffed, tasing teh air. She tensed, the smell of another cat hitting her nose and filling her mouth. "Heronkit, is there someone else besides you trhee in there?" she called worriedly, hoping that it wasn't a violent rogue.
