ooc; This board is almost 'connecting' to Longing for a Friend. horsiesgal.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=4756451&action=display&thread=513Yeah, if it's not a problem, Tiger, is it okay if they run into a patrol, Skylight can be in it. bic; Ralf thought of his promise. I will always be with you, no matter what happens. The words buzzed in his head. He was excited about finding clan cats. "We're getting close, now be careful, they might try and run us out." He heard the words from his mother, who was in front of them. "They won't if I you don't stand guard!" Ralf hissed. "We'll be there soon." Licking Shore's cheek another time made his heart race. For only being eight moons old, he had an 'exciting' life so far.

Shore felt a tingle of excitement as she ran with Ralf. I'm going to be a clan cat! My parents would be proud, if they were here!, she thought, pausing. She sniffed the air and smelled all the wonderful scents of the forest. "I love the smell of the forest!" she meowed, coming up next to Ralf again.

Ralf walked through the white powder on the ground, snow. "I don't think this a big forest." Ralf meowed. "Your right, it's just a tree area, forests are a lot bigger and closer together than this." she meowed. Maddie stood on end. "Clan cat." she whispered. Her brown pelt matched Ralf's perfectly, they weren't very blended in. Then she noticed a black-and-white cat. "Loner!" The cat stared at Maddie, confused. "We mean no harm!" Maddie meowed calmly. "Then why are you on Frostclan territory!" The black and white she-cat arched her back. Maddie figured she was with other cats, smelling all the different cats. "They must be on a patrol!" Ralf whispered into Shore's ear. The Frostclan cat yowled. Maddie figured she was calling for more warriors.

Hearing the yowl, a small, longhaired albino cat perked up his ears and ran to the scene, skirting the snowdrifts as if he were skiing down a slalom. He slid to a stop next to the black-and-white warrior. "Nice work, Skylight," he mewed softly to her. Before addressing the trespassers, he fluffed his pelt and flagged his tail in an attempt to appear intimidating. Perhaps these two were the rogues who had so recently attacked RainClan. "What do you want?" he growled, pointing his ears back and unsheathing his claws. The latter of the two actions would be unnoticed by the others, as the snow cloaking the ground covered his paws well enough. If their intent was malicious, then he would probably be able to hold his own against two cats who were probably only apprentice-aged. And if they had wandered too far from their nests, he would happily show them off of FrostClan territory, back in the direction of the land of the rogues and loners.

Shore screeched as the new cats came in and pressed her body against Ralf's. "I'm scared, Ralf!" she whispered in Ralf's ear, "I never knew they would be this scary! What will we do?" She unsheathed her claws to prepare for a battle if she had to. Shore wanted to turn back, but she wanted to become a clan cat and wanted to stay with Ralf forever.

Maddie stayed clam as she sat down. "We mean no harm." Skylight arched her back. "Then what do you want?" She let out a growl and turned to Whitestar. "These two young cats wanted to join a clan, the she-cat was abused by Twolegs, while the one that looks like me, the tom, had a wonderful home, but left it to be with the she-cat." Maddie meowed. "Wow, she can speak clan?" Ralf whispered to Shore. Maddie walked up to the two clan cats. "Like I said, I mean no harm, and I don't think a couple of eight mooned kits will be hurting anyone either." Maddie still stayed at a calm level of tone. Skylight gave a blank look. "Poor little scraps." She meowed. They were abused then left to join us! She looked at Whitestar. "Should we?" She said, no louder than a soft whisper.

"I don't know," Whitestar meowed softly. "I'd love to have them here, but it's not like they're going to have a lot of food. We're barely scraping by right now. It's probably a good thing that Flaxeyes and Blackleaf are staying with BeachClan right now. Fewer mouths to feed--I wonder if she's had the kits yet?--anyways, I want to consult the rest of the clan. They should have a say in this. And I'm not quite sure what to do." He looked from Skylight to the two kittypets. "You two can stay for the time being. We're very short on prey right now and I'd hate to have to let some of my clan starve. In the meantime, we'll make sure you get something to eat and a den to sleep in. Sound good?"

Ralf smiled and looked at Shore. "We can stay for awhile!" he squealed. "Whitestar, I don't think they'll be a problem right now, it's either these smaller kittypets or overbuilt Blackleaf and pregnant Flaxeyes." she meowed. She didn't really call the two names, but she was jsut saying, they were a lot bigger than these two cats. Maddie looked at Ralf and Shore. "Good-bye, and visit me sometime." She smiled, licked Ralf's cheek and dipped her head to Shore. She brushed her pelt past Shore and headed for her barn.

Shore smiled and licked Ralf's ear. "Yes!" she meowed, jumping away from Ralf's side, "I'll be the best clan cat that I can, sir." She said her good-byes to Maddie and approached Whitestar. "So, where do we go to get to the camp?" she asked, kneading the ground with her small white paws. She paused for a minute to lick the wounds she had on her leg. "Maddie said that someone from the clans could help my wounds. Can they?"

Whitestar looked at Shore closely to examine her injuries. "Yes, we'll have Rainlight see to them. They don't look bad, but it would be best for them to get taken care of so they don't get infected." He shuddered at the thought. When Snowfur had been attacked by a fox, he had gotten a grim, straightforward prognosis from the medicine cat: "If the blood loss doesn't kill her, an infection will." The former had taken the life of his beloved sister and left him with Bluepool his only living kin. For now... Whitestar shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Follow me," he meowed jovially, turning around and beginning to prance back to camp through the snow that was past his knees.

Shore tried to follow but couldn't see Whitestar's white pelt so well with all the snow. She sneezed and found out that the snow was nearly up to her back. Finally, she spotted Whitestar and bounded after him, then paused to wait for Ralf to come along with her. "Ralf! Come on!" she yowled back to him, flicking her tail impatiently.

Ralf followed Shore. He had his eyes fixed on her graceful tail. "I've been behind you the whole time!" he purred. He raced to be right next to her. "We can finally eat and then get some rest." His paws ached from walking in the freezing snow for the whole day. He hated it now but he knew that he would get used to it. "I'm so excited!"

"When we get back, you can sleep in the nursery," Whitestar meowed. "The apprentices' den isn't really a den and you'd freeze to death out there. Our queen--our only she-cat with kits, that is--is staying with BeachClan. You two have a lot to learn." After taking a few more steps in silence, he added, "What are your names?"

Ralf trotted behind the white tom. "I know all this. Mom taught it to me." he whispered. He new all this. His mother had talked to loners and rouges. She said she saw a black she-cat with blue eyes. She said she was leader. "Ralf." Ralf responded. His tone was loud and full of excitement. "The nursery is where kits and queens stay. Queens will stay there till they become elders or go back to their warrior duties." He tried to sound smart.

Shore felt a tingle of excitement as she meowed, "Shore." She jumped over a rock and mewed quietly to Whitestar, "Will our names change? Or will we keep our names?" Shore thought, I hope I get a wonderful name! She bounded after Whitestar and got annoyed of walking. "Are we nearly there?" she meowed with an annoyed groan.

"We are," Whitestar assured her. "You'll both be getting new names...and mentors as well. They'll teach you how to fight and how to hunt. When you have finished training, you'll get your warrior names. We can't do any of the ceremonies until we reach camp, though. I'll show you to your den, decide on names and mentors for you both, and then we'll hold the ceremony. Sound good?" Of course, it didn't matter what they thought, because he was the leader and the leader's word was law. Still, he liked to act like that wasn't true.
ooc: What do you want their names to be? c:

Shore bounced happily after Whitestar. "Yes, that sounds good!" she meowed, turning to Ralf and gave him a cuff on the ear. She meowed, happily, "Ralf! We are going to be warriors!" She licked Ralf's ear and continued following Whitestar. Her paws were cold and aching, but she kept going because this was an exciting adventure and she wanted to keep going.
ooc: Amberpaw, if that's all right. Is it? I've always loved that name. ^^

ooc; I have no idea for a name you pick it for me! ^^ He is fully brown with white paws, muzzle and chest.
bic; Ralf smiled at Shore. "We're going to be wonderful warriors." He still was locked onto his promise he had made Shore. She was a beautiful she-cat with a wonderful personality, well at least from his side of viewing. He smiled. "Who would be our mentors?" Ralf wanted to know quickly and without any second thought. He wanted some cat strong, brave, thoughtful, all of that, to train him to be one of the strongest to protect his clan.
Skylight looked at Whitestar. "Who would mentor them?" She whispered. "They're- I mean both were kittypets and they need someone the snap them into shape." She meowed. He tone was sharp but she new what she was saying. She had to think for a minute. Who would be the best mentors? "Maybe Dashfoot and Cinderflame can train them well?" She suggested. She made sure the two small apprentice-like cats couldn't here her.

"Maybe. I'll have to think about it," Whitestar replied in an equally low whisper. "Bluepool would whip them into shape, but she's a bit old to have an apprentice...in fact, I think she might whip them into shape a little too well." His mother often didn't give friendly first impressions. Everyone'll be happy. Our warriors won't have to change the bedding and Mom will have some apprentices to complain about. All good.
ooc: Cloudpaw, because of his white markings? xD

ooc; perfect, but what about a warrior name?
bic; Skylight purred. "Bluepool will be excellent with wipping them with cleaning out dens." She was actually happy with not cleaning out Bluepool's den. Skylight out her tail on top of Whitestar's shoulders. "Flaxeyes wouldn't mind them sleeping with them, she'll have some company. If not she can sleep in the medicine cat's den with Blackleaf." She had a soft tone. It was cold and dusk was almost gone. "We should hurry, I smell more snow coming."
Ralf smiled. "I can't wait to get my name! I really want to have a huge life, and it starts with a name." Ralf noticed the black and white she-cat effection toward the white tom. He smiled and did the same to Shore. He rapped his tail around Shore's shoulders. "I love you." He whispered this into her ear. "The warrior code states that appretice's can't take a mate until they become warriors." Ralf whispered sadly. He loved Shore, and wanted to stay at her side, even at life and death moments.

Shore shivered then meowed quietly, "I can't wait either. I'm so excited! My life is going to change completely! I'll get a new name. I'll get a mentor, whatever they are for! Oh, I can't wait!" She paused and breathed in the scents around her. "I can smell a rabbit!" she meowed up to Whitestar, then whispered in Ralf's ear, "Me, too. I'll be with you no matter what."

Ralf smiled. He was also excited, almost as much as Shore. Shore was the biggest joyful cat he has ever met. He threw out a chuckle. "I smell other cats." He looked around, watching a small amount of prey fly around.
Skylight looked at Whitestar. "I will get it." She crouched into what they call a hunting crouch and pounced at a white-fured rabbit. She bit it's neck quickly, then it was limp in her jaws. The black and white she-cat turned around and headed through a small tunnel formed by a hollow. "This is camp." The she-cat meowed. She headed into the clearing. There were many cats up and about. "I'll take this is Bluepool." Skylight meowed to Whitestar. The warrior walked her way to a old fallen tree, the roots were all across the ground. Then she had disappeared through the roots. "Bluepool, here's a rabbit."

Shore sniffed and smelled all these different and strange scents. "I can smell lots of things." she meowed, wrapping her tail around Ralf's. She bounded happily after Skylight with Ralf at her side. Once she was through the tunnel, she saw lots of cats all over. She hoped they wouldn't treat her bad because she wasn't born here. She backed up a little bit as curious and confused looks were shot at her from all the cats around the camp.

Bluepool yawned and took the rabbit from Skylight. "Thank you, dear." She blinked lazily and licked the snow from the fresh-kill's fur before biting into its back and nibbling at the meat. It was just a tad stringy, but she didn't care. She knew she would have to share it with the other elders anyways due to the shortage.
Whitestar glanced at the two apprentices. "Follow me," he meowed, padding through camp. The snow here was worn down more due to the constant traffic. "This is your den." The leader indicated the nursery with his tail. It was a small yet sheltered place, walled by gorse and sheltered by an evergreen tree. "Normally, it's the nursery, but we don't have any queens with us at the moment. The apprentices' den has absolutely no shelter, so you can stay here."

bic; Ralf was more than excited, he was full of energy. He walked into the nursery slowly and notice the moss covered ground. It was soft and warm. No draft was in the den, just him and Shore. He laid down, tucked his paws underneath his belly and looked at Shore with a smile.
Skylight padded out of the elder's den and walked up to Whitestar. "I'll get them settled in." She let out a purr and walked into the nursery. "You can sleep anywhere in this den, you need to ask a warrior before you eat, anyways, are you two hungry?" "Nope, I ate before we left." Ralf wasn't hungry at all. "But can you get Shore some herbs?" "Of course!" Skylight meowed. "Whitestar? Do you mind getting Rainlight?"

Shore limped slowly after Skylight. She was exhausted. All she wanted to do was collapse onto the cold ground and sleep for a moon. When she entered the nursery, she meowed to Skylight, "I'm hungry." After searching the room for a minute, she saw a spot and limped over. She settled on the cold ground and started grooming her messy fur.

Skylight nodded to Shore. The she-cat was also hungry. She walked quickly over to the fresh-kill pile and a mouse caught her eyes. She picked it up into her jaws and walked it back over to the nursery. She poked her head in. "Do you two mind sharing? We're scarce on prey." She felt sorry for the two cats, it was their first night staying and all they got was a mouse. Ralf smiled. "We'll share!" He didn't want Shore to through out a comment that might hurt the warrior. Ralf new that a mouse was the best she could do.

Shore nodded. "It's fine with me, also." she meowed, starting to lick Ralf's ear. She smiled politely at Skylight and turned back to Ralf. She whispered in his ear, "I love you!" She felt great joy when she told him that, for it was very true. She loved the young tom very much.

Skylight purred and walked out of the den quickly. "Whitestar, they are perfectly shelter!" She purred as she licked the white tom's cheek. Ralf purred back, "now why would I not love you?" His vocabulary was quite logical for a young cat. He loved mixing sentances up. He leaned over and put his muzzle on Shore's shoulder. He closed his eyes slowly, reading to fall asleep.

Shore purred happily. She lowered her head to her paws. Her eyes closed quickly and she was ready to sleep. It took a while, but she fell asleep soon and she started to dream. She dreamed about her parents. She was remembering about when she was a young kit and Lilac was still with her. Her grey sister was sleeping against her mother's stomach. Shore felt a chill run through her spine. She turned away and everything changed when she turned back. Her parents weren't there. Only Ralf was there. She neared him, but when she was in front of him, he disappeared. Suddenly, she woke up. She was afraid and she cuddled up against Ralf for comfort.
