((Poor Whitestar's the only Clan leader who still gets lectured by his mom xD))
The fresh-kill pile was, however small it may be, always the main gathering point for Clan cats at any time of year. Today was no exception. Whitestar lay stretched out near the pile, holding a vole between his paws as he lazily chewed. He was thin--FrostClan was notorious for having a perpetually meager supply of food--but his thick, fluffy pelt was more than enough to keep him warm in all but the fiercest of leaf-bares. The thin layer of newfallen snow provided a soft albeit icy cushion for the leader as he ate.
A small white she-cat who greatly resembled Whitestar snuck up behind him and playfully meowed in his ear. "Hello, Whitestar."
He yelped, jumping up from his food and turning around. "Mom! Don't scare me like that!" Despite his shocked tone, the leader smiled sheepishly as Bluepool snickered.
"You know," the elder yawned, grabbing a robin from the fresh-kill pile, "you're probably one of the best things that's happened to this Clan since...oh, StarClan, I don't even know anymore."
"Thanks," Whitestar mewed.
She ignored him and went on. "When I was young, we were great. Great in the strong, powerful sort of way. Then everything went downhill and we got leaders who did nothing but die. That Oceanstar...she showed a lot of promise but the sleeping sickness got her before she could do anything. Not sure about Amberstar; she was leader for, what, two moons? But now we're back to becoming great. Not great in the strong, powerful way, but great in the fantastic way. FrostClan's more like a big happy family now, you know?"
"I know."
"And if we didn't have that unity, we'd be ripped apart by the other Clans, you know?"
"I know."

Skylight couldn't help overhearing her mate and his mother's comversation. She was sitting in her nest in Whitestar's den. It's too cold to get out of my nest. Skylight stretched out her legs and then stood up properly. "I would've had to get up anyway." She was talking to herself again. "Whitestar, Bluepool, good morning," Skylight purred as she walked down the hill that lead to the clearing. Skylight sat next to Whitestar. "Now are you today?" She purred. Then she looked at Bluepool. "You are 100% right about him and the clan." She said with a serious face.

Bluepool smiled in her trademark wry way. The elder's dark blue eyes sparkled and a soft purr mingled with her voice as she murmured, "I know I'm right. I wouldn't tell him these things if I were wrong." "You wouldn't," Whitestar replied, getting up and playfully flicking his tail over his mother's shoulder as he padded over to Skylight and sat down next to her. "Morning, dear. I'm just a little cold, but I think that'll go away once I start moving around and the sun rises all the way. You?" He leaned against her shoulder and closed his eyes, relaxing, taking in her scent.

Skylight let out a purr as Whitestar leaned against her shoulder. "Whitestar, Bluepool, I'm expecting." Her eyes were round and she had a smile on her black and white face. "I'm so happy!" She leaned over to lick Whitestar's fluffy, white cheek. "I love you so much and nothing will prevent it," the she-cat purred then looked up at Bluepool. "Are you happy?"
ooc; Is it ohk that she's like starts getting fatter now? Then when after the battle when they're with the guild, sometime then she'll have her kits it that ohk?

Whitestar could not comment; he was purring too much. He licked Skylight's cheek in response but did not otherwise vocalize.
Bluepool, however, looked nothing short of purely delighted. "Happy? More than happy! Skylight, that's wonderful! You two will be great parents. I've always wanted grandkits. Nothing's better than being in love." Her smile softened ever so slightly when she remembered her own mate, Icefoot. He was killed by a fox several seasons ago but the recollections of him were a still strange mix of poignant sorrow and outright joy. Not joy for his death, but joy for his life. Quickly, she mentally prayed to StarClan: Give these two a happier ending than I got. Not that my ending wasn't happy...anyways, just, please. Icefoot, Snowfur, I love you both. Naturally, I don't want to join you anytime soon, but I still miss you. And please make sure the kits turn out alright. Throughout this, the smile never fled her visage.

Skylight smiled. "Really? So you're happy? Thank Starclan. And you're going to be an amazing grandmother," Skylight purred. It rumbled in her throat loudly. She licked Whitestar's cheek and closed her eyes. Starclan, I hope you will take care of my kits, Bluepool, and Whitestar down within the clans as much as you can take care of them with you. Once she opened her eyes, she smelled the sweet sent of Amberstar. "Amberstar? What is she doing here?" She whispered to herself. Maybe she heard me?

"Oh, thank you," Bluepool purred, attempting to stretch her stiff forelegs. "Why wouldn't I be happy? Like I said, I've always wanted grandkits." She gave up stretching and sat, tucking her tail around her forepaws. Where's Blackleaf when you need him? "W-where?" Whitestar meowed, looking around wildly. He was trembling a bit from his excitement and, at the moment, was not thinking with absolute clarity. After a moment, the leader rested his chin on Skylight's shoulder and stared intently at the bushes near the barrel that was once the leader's den. It did not occur to him that Amberstar was not physically there, but he vaguely wondered what his kits would look like.

"Amberstar has been about," murmured a tired voice. A she-cat was padding towards the group, having just left her den. Rainlight's grey-blue tabby coat was mattered in places and her muzzle seemed greyer than usual. Yet it was not her physical appearane or her voice which showed how tired the medicine cat was, it was her eyes. Usually there was a spark in her light sea blue eyes, a roaring ocean that reflected her strong personality, but now there was none. Like the ocean without wind, she was flat. She had had so much to stress about lately what with StarClan warning of FrostClan's demise every season. Before the StarClan warriors had ignored her cries for help but now they wouldn't leave her alone. "I suspose congratulations are in order?" Rainlight meowed, trying to bring some happiness into her voice. She was truly happy for Whitestar and Skylight but really was not the time to be expecting kits. She gave the couple the tiniest of smiles before turning to Bluepool and attempting a weak joke. "I guess he won't be a single, old tom then?"
{I've realised, poor Rainlight has never had a moments peace. Sleeping sickness then BurntClan then Blackleaf and Flaxeyes, then the fire in AquaClan causing Flaxeyes to leave and now the upcoming battle.}

"I guess not," Bluepool meowed, glancing over at the medicine cat. Her smile finally faded as she noticed that Rainlight seemed to have less spark than usual. One thing that a cat gained from a lifetime of eighty or so moons was the ability to read her clanmates, and the elder expressed this ability fully. "Are you okay, Rainlight? You seem a little...off." Concerned, she cocked her head and swished her tail across the frosty ground dusted with powdery snow.
Whitestar did not even glance at Rainlight. He knew that he should be paying more attention to his faithful medicine cat, but he was in the midst of a self-centered moment. Skylight was going to have kits! His kits! Nothing, for the time being, could shake this joyous announcement from his brain, not even his mother's concern for a drained Rainlight. For now, he just kept his head on his mate's shoulder and in the figurative clouds.

Rainlight gave a small shake of her head. She hadn't realised that she looked so bad. As a medicine cat she should be able to look after herself and it was a bad sign to the Clan if the medicine cat was unhealthy. She needed to be strong, especially with the upcoming battle and Skylight's kits. "I just haven't slept," she whispered to Bluepool, her eyes on the ground. "I'll have a nap later." She looked up at smiled at their blissful leader. "Anyway, I don't want to ruin your son's moment with my petty problems. He's very lucky."

Skylight had her eyes closed, but once she heard Rainlight's voice, her eyes popped open. "Hello Rainlight have you seen-" "I'm right here." Blackleaf purred as he came out of the warrior's den. "Just finished checking the warriors den for any sign of sickness." The black tom told Rainlight. "No sign yet." He looked at his paws. Leafbare is getting worse and that means sickness is going to be a more of a hazard to the clan.

Rainlight didn't want to hear yet. She had done her best to give all the warriors herbs to protect them and even attempted to wash the dens out with a mixture of fragant herbs and moist herbs. "We'll be okay," she told Blackleaf. "We need to keep everyone strong though so any sign that you may be ill, see us," she told them," And that goes for everyone else." At the moment cats were training and more likely to tire themselves. Rainlight could only wish she knew exactly when the attack was coming. From her visions she knew there was still snow on the ground but as she tried to follow the fighting warriors, she was swallowed by fog. As the dreams increased the she-cat became even more terrified what this could mean.

Blackkleaf looked up at Rainlight. "I hope that turns out that you don't need to see us." He looked at Skylight. She's expecting. Darn kits. Darn curse. Skylight looked at Blackleaf. "I hope so too." She whispered. The black and white she-cat looked at Whitestar. "I hope you stay away from the medicine cat's den." She meowed. "Well, go if you're sick, but you know what I mean."

Rainlight gave a half-attempt at grooming her chest fur. When it came apparent it would require more devoted effort, she gave up. It was far more important to ensure the health of her clanmates than worry about something as petty as looking nice. She simply didn't have time. There was still a lot more herbs she had to collect (she was low on marigold and her stockpile of cobwebs was non-existant) and now she had Skylight to care for on top of everything else. She looked up at the siblings. "Just remember the rule: If in doubt, spit it out. Water is often the easiest way to be poisoned."

Blackleaf nodded. "Of course, I would only drink from the melting snow because the lake usually gets all yucky from the twolegs." He informed. "But hey, I haven't seen a lot of rubbish in it since they stopped putting those green pelted things around here since last greenleaf. But I would still be careful." He snorted. The black tom looked up. I hope Flaxeyes stays cautious. I just hope the Beachclanners haven't made her suffer at all. Blackleaf tried not to think about Flaxeyes, now he only sees her in her dreams, and not the ones from Starclan.
