ooc; The only reason I'm starting this is that no one else has started it, so If anyone who has a beachclan character, feel free to be apart of this patrol.... I believe Coppertail is leading the patrol, but I have no idea on what Ali is planning to do. I guess I'll roleplay Jaystar counting on the fact that Ally isn't active and hasn't been active and probably won't ever be active again.

Stormcloud wrinked his nose. "My goodness! It's freezing!" He hissed. The black and white tom's whole body shivered feeling the cold snow against his pelt. If I knew it was going to be this cold, I never would've came. Stormcloud looked around. All he saw was snow, snow, trees, more trees, and his clanmates. "I don't smell a thing, not one single cat smell." He reported. Stormcloud's paws started to ache. "Once we find them, I need to see Moonstream." He muttered to himself.

{I thought this was going to pass through RainClan so Hawkstar was aware of the plan? Also, Honeyfrost needs to find out about Owlspot's and Flaxeyes' kits, and Thunderpaw needs to meet with Heronpaw. I think Thunderpaw was going to join the Club.}}

((Yes, he was.))
"Ugh!" meowed Thunderpaw, exasperated. "Why's it have to be so cold out here? I wish it could be BeachClan weather everywhere. I hate the cold." The apprentice fluffed his short, thin pelt against the brutal cold. He was stocky, but he didn't have much body fat to keep him warm either. "Is this a hunting patrol or a border patrol? Please tell me it's a border patrol. I want to eat." Most adolescent toms were quite piggish when it came to fresh-kill, and only the warrior code--and sometimes not even that--could keep them from eating everything in sight. Upon realizing that they weren't extraordinarily far from the AquaClan border, his thoughts drifted to his runaway sister, Quailpaw. How can she put up with it? I mean, yeah, she's got nice long fur, but it's cold and snowy and windy and cold...

{I've moved it the thread. I couldn't use where to put it so I put in the Marsh. We'll assume the patrol has gone along the beach, crossed in AquaClan and now heading straight into RainClan territory, towards the camp. From Tiger's writing, they are just at the AquaClan border so it'll be a short dash across the territory and into RainClan.}
"We're only protected by the trees, but we still get snow," Coppertail commented, sniffing at the air. The fire had destroyed the trees that would of protected the undergrowth from the snow and frost. The unusually cold leaf-fall and leaf-bare were not helping at all. All the warriors could do was pray to StarClan that when the warmer seasons arrived, the territory would regrow. Like his Clanmates, the deputy's fur was fluffed up to protect himself from the chilling. His ears were down low, head buried into his shoulders. The camp in BeachClan was well protected from the cold weather due to the trees and the geography of the location. Again, he sniffed at the air but it was fruitless. The scent of the border had faded away moons ago. "We're not eating," Coppertail murmured. Careful of frost, he stepped lightly over the rocks that scattered the beach. The AquaClan border was just ahead, lying on the otherside of the stream. "You should of eaten before we left Thunderpaw, now you'll have to hope that Hawkstar will spare you some of his freshkill." That's if we're allowed to pass through RainClain, he added. The whole situation was a political mess. They were sure to be attacked by a RainClan patrol when they attempted to pass through. Icestar's task for them had seemed simple but now that Coppertail was looking at the great expanse of land, the freezing cold and the possible risk of attack, the task seemed impossible. "StarClan knows how AquaClan survived this....."

Owlfoot's ears twitched as he shivered, shaking his short-haired body with a tad bit of annoyance. man, it was cold today. This was going to be one long leafbare. He sighed before turning, eyes landing on Honeyfrost, not far from him. He smiled lightly before turning his attention a tad farther off to his apprentice, Goldenpaw, and her brother Heronpaw. Truthfully, the deputy did not particularly like the apprentice. But he was hoping this patrol would help them get along better. That was why he chose the apprentice to join them. When the wind shifted, he perked up, opening his mouth lightly. Was that....the scent of cats? They weren't far off. And by the salty taste in the scent, they definately weren't AquaClan. This was BeachClan. He narrowed his eyes. What would they be doing all the way out here...?

Thunderpaw grumbled quietly to himself but did not complain further; even he knew that getting on the deputy's bad side was a horrible idea. He sighed haughtily and stomped his feet down as he walked. To his amusement, a spray of snow flew into the air from his paws. Instantly amused, the tom began to leap and gambol about through the ground's powdery white blanket. He swooped his head down so that his muzzle barely brushed the surface of the snow. Grinning wildly, he shook his head so that the flakes flew from his fur, although a few stray drops of water clung to his whiskers.

Honeyfrost smiled at Owlfoot when she caught his gaze. The wind came across AquaClan, hitting the patrol. She shivered lightly, fluffing up her fur. Like the deputy, she caught a tiny whiff of the scent of another cat. BeachClan? She frowned and peered out across the AquaClan territory. "Do you think BeachClan has pushed their borders further?" she asked. Out of what seemed like respect, the warriors had left AquaClan untouched. When the warriors returned, they would be able to take their land back. But as the days drew on, the temptation of expanding the land grew greater. Had Icestar already begun?
Heronpaw snorted and finished marking a fern. "BeachClan is far away," he told the she-cat, a haughty air to his voice. He hadn't smelt anything, but why should he? There was no way the wind could carry a scent that far. He smiled smugly while Honeyfrost scowled at him. She may of kept his first meeting with Burntstar a secret from his father, but he felt he owed nothing to her. He didn't have to treat her with kindness. After all, that was Owlfoot's job. Anyone could see how close they were. Just like Maplepaw and my brother, he thought angrily. Was there no one he could relie on?

"Try smelling the air Heronpaw," Owlfoot said, turning to face the apprentice. "And show her some respect. She's far more experienced at this than you are." He turned back to Honeyfrost, already deciding that bringing him along had been a bad idea. Oh well. "I don't think they've expanded their borders yet. The scent is far too weak for that, even if they had alreafy begun marking." He turned to look back over the expanse of burnt landscape before him, covered with white frost. He looked around him a tad before finding a slinghtly burnt stump that happened to be in their borders. It wasn't too bad. Only one side had been burnt during the fire. He padded toward it and, bunching his muscles, sprung up onto it to get a better view. He narrowed his eyes, swerving his head to get a better look with his only useable one. He thought he saw movement not too far off, but he couldn't be sure. He turned away, turning too look to his apprentice. "Goldenpaw, would you mind coming over here and telling me if you can seen anything out there," he mewed, deciding this was the perfect time to test at how observant she could be. Besides, he didn't really trust his vision anymore. He still had problems with his depth perception.

"Actually....I do think I smell Beachclan." Now it was Lightningpaw who spoke up, more modestly than his brother. His ears twitched and he looked towards the way the wind of blowing, his pelt keeping him warm as it hit him with a large gust. He frowned, positive he had scented it now. He rolled his eyes at Heronpaw, shaking his head at his smugness and overconfidence. What a mousebrain. He glanced to Honeyfrost. "Why would we scent Beachclan here?"
"Icestar may be pushing her limits." An older and more mature sounding voice spoke up, Wolfheart having stepped out of the undergrowth with a squirrel. He didn't seem particulary happy with the discussion on about Beachclan being so close. "It's down to two clans, when it's meant to be four. It's not right." He murmured, shaking his head with a sigh.

Owlfoot turned to look at Wolfjeart, nodding lightly. "Yes. StarClan will not like this," he muttered, tail twitching. They would not Especially if BeachClan sought for more territory and became to powerful. If that happened, they could probably drive RainClan away and claim their territory. That would not be a good thing. Not at all.

Goldenpaw nodded to her mentor. She ran through the snow to go a couple of long strides. Once she stopped, she sniffed the air. Her pink nose lifted high so she can try to smell past the pine trees. "Beachclan." She whispered. Goldenpaw shuffled a couple more foxlengths and saw a bunch of Beachclan warriors. She let out a loud yowl, trying to signal the rest of her patrol.
Stormcloud flinched as he heard a yowl. "Well, they know we're here." He grumbled. The black and white tom walked toward where he heard the yowl. He saw a small apprentice with wide and frightened eyes. "Coppertail, it's Goldenpaw." He meowed. He bent his head down and smiled. "Is Owlspot on the patrol?" Stormcloud tried to sound calm and not so mean.
Goldenpaw's eyes were wide once she saw how big this tom was, then she saw the deputy and was really shocked. My gosh, they're huge! Goldenpaw nodded and turned her head. "Owlspot, they want to see you......" Goldenpaw meowed. Her breathing started to get heavier because she didn't hear any of her clanmates yet. What's taking them?

Heronpaw bristled indignantly. He was sniffing the air and he couldn't smell a thing. Also, he couldn't care less about Honeyfrost or StarClan. Angrily, he paced forward as his sister ran ahead. If his humiliation by Owlfoot wasn't enough, be felt even more betrayed that the deputy would choose someone as useless as Goldenpaw for a scouting mission. When he heard her howl, a small smile crept across his face. Visions of the tabby she-cat torn to sheds floated through his mind.
Honeyfrost dashed forward, the snow crunching her paws. What were BeachClan doing out this far? She quickly recognized the tom Goldenpaw was talking to but his name she couldn't recall. Thinking fast, she pushed the apprentice behind her and bared her teeth. A slow snarl crept out from her throat. Her blue eyes met Stormcloud's. However, she did notice her brother hanging back but did not relax her pose. " What do you want?" she spat.
"I'ld prefer it if I did the talking," Coppertail whispered as he pushed past Stormcloud. The tom was always taking control when it was his job. There had always been a power struggle between the two of them and it was unlikely to go away. The deputy gave his sister a shy smile. He had not seen her at any of the gatherings and so her appearance startled him. Across one shoulder was a scar that showed through a parting in her light fur. That must be from the badger attack Owlfoot told me about. She seemed...different. Life had been kinder to him then it had been to her.

Owlfoot sprung through the frost covered grass, suddenly relaxing upon seeing Coppertail. He put himself on edge again though and moved forward, brushing past Goldenpaw and Honeyfrost, placing himself between the two of them, just in case. Coppertail was Honeyfrost's brother, but that did not mean he would not attack his apprentice. "Coppertail," he greeted, smiling lightly. "What brings BeachClan so far out here?" His voice was curt, but demanding.

Lightningpaw saw the smile come to his brother's face and frowned. As he followed the others, he brushed by him purposely. "Do you ever want others to do well?!" He whispered harshly, voice filled with disgust and shame. It was their sister! He at least tried to get along with their other siblings, Goldenpaw and Littlepaw, whole Heronpaw seemed to seclude himself and make enemies of...just about anyone around him. He flicked his nose on purpose as he went after the others, catching them in a couple of easy strides. He hung back behind Honeyfrost, but his green eyes gazed over the patrol curiously. What were they doing here?

Heronpaw snapped at his brother's tail, as Lightningpaw passed by. He had once got along with the black and white tom, but now he saw them as useless as the rest of their siblings. His paws pounded the ground as he went after him, purposely stopping beside him. As usual, Lightningpaw was hanging back when he could of pushed to the front. "Perhaps you should invite Goldenpaw to join our training," he snarled in his brother's ear, briefly glancing at Goldenpaw. "Then she maybe she might have some hope." The she-cat had done nothing to wrong Heronpaw, he simply didn't like her or Littlepaw. His pale blue eyes gazed over the patrol, just as Lightningpaw was doing. He recognised the deputy, a large ginger and white tom, while the others were unfamiliar. But one of them he remembered as an apprentice. We do need new apprentices for Burntstar's training. Strange for Heronpaw, he smiled across at Thunderpaw in a friendly gesture.
Honeyfrost stepped back and let Owlfoot move forward. She saw a spalsh of amusement in Coppertail's eyes as she was pushed back like the apprentices. Owlfoot's gesture had made her seem like she needed to be defended, as if she was weak. This was far from the truth and she knew this was what amused her brother. She glared at him and moved to stand beside her mate, purposely flicking her tail over his back. Owlfoot was protecting her because she loved him and as far as Honeyfrost knew, Coppertail didn't have a mate. She smiled smugly, all the while gesturing for the apprentices to stand back. If the BeachClan patrol decided to attack, which would be foolish, Honeyfrost could cover Owlfoot's right side while Wolfheart had the left. The apprentices, of course, would be expected to return to camp.
The RainClan deputy quickly appeared, putting himself between Coppertail and the two she-cats. Owlfoot still bore the scars from the badger attack and it seemed unlikely for them to heal. Seeing them again made him wince in pain for the tom but he had to suppress a chuckle at Honeyfrost's expression. He knew his sister could be deadly but here she was being defended like the tabby apprentice that hid behind her. She looked outraged but her expression softened and stepped forward, brushing against the deputy in what he would classify as an intimate gesture. Coppertail coughed lightly and pulled his eyes from Honeyfrost's ice blue ones and back to Owlfoot. She really was doing his best to ruin his concentration. "We are...," he managed to meow, glaring at the she-cat beside the deptuy. "We are here, we would like to seek passage through your territory so we can talk to Jaystar. We also have some things to, um, discuss with your leader."
{{I just love having the siblings together, especially Honeyfrost and Coppertail xD}}

Owlfoot narrowed his eyes slightly at Coppertail, eyes darkening slightly. Hesitation. That wasn't good. If the statement was true, there would have been no hesiation. Unless of course he had been distracted by something. Perhaps Heronpaw and Lightningpaw's arrival had stolen his attention for a moment. Whatever the case, he noted it for later. He tilted his head slightly, ears twitching. "Hmmm....yeah, you can talk to him. But you'll have to wait at the border," he mewed, smiling. "I hope that's not inconvenient." He turned, smiling at the two apprentices behind him. "Lightningpaw? Would you mind go getting Hawkstar. Tell him that the BeachClan deputy would like to talk with him."
(And poor Owlfoot caught in the middle....)

Lightningpaw's ears twitched and he looked up to Owlfoot with alertness. "O-oh, yes Owlfoot." He replied with a dip of his head with respect. He turned and took off quickly, disappearing through the underbrush. His paws pounding on the ground were as light as feathers, the entrance of camp appearing in his vision in a few minutes. This was an easy job for Lightningpaw, it was what he was good at.

Goldenpaw noticed Heronpaw and Lightningpaw looking at her. I know they're talking about me, and I'm positive about them not liking me, or Littlepaw. The thing is, I did nothing wrong, but I must've. It's all my fault! I just know it! "I'm going too." Goldenpaw told Owlspot. "Lightningpaw wait up!" She yelled as he bolted off into the marsh. Her mouth watered as she smelled prey all around. "Surprising, the marsh usually don't have that much prey." She was trying to tell Lightningpaw.
Stormcloud dipped his head as Coppertail passed him. He tried not to growl but he had to be polite, he was with another clan's warriors. "Thunderpaw, be on your best behavior when Hawkstar gets hear. And keep your mouth shut." Stormcloud whispered to him. He knew Icestar's apprentice had a huge mouth. It wasn't big, it was huge.

Lightningpaw heard his sister behind him and he noticed he trying to strike up a conversation with him. He slowed down slightly to be within speaking distance as he listened and nodded. "It probably all migrated from Aquaclan after the fire, needing somewhere to stay." He called back, with a friendly flick of the tail. He slowed even more as they reached camp, looking around for their father.

Goldenpaw was happy that Lightningpaw had slowed down to talk to her. The tabby nodded. Once they padded into camp, it was very calm. "Lets check his den first." She suggested. Goldenpaw sniffed the air. "I can't tell if his scent is fresh." Maybe the elders might have seen him if he went out of camp.....

"Looking for me?" A deep, commanding voice spoke up behind them, the tall dark figure of Hawkstar standing there with a kind smile on his gave and a wise look in his blue eyes. "What's the rush you two? Where are the others?" He spoke, looking over from Goldenpaw to Lightningpaw. Lightningpaw turned and smiled when he saw his father. He stood up straight in attention and exchanged a glance with his sister. He nodded for her to go ahead, letting her have the chance to relay the message.

"That suits us fine," Coppertail meowed, nodding his head to accept Owlfoot's conditions. He sat down and, to emphasise he wasn't bothered, curled his tail around his paws and licked his white chest. "Of course," he added," We'll have to speak to Hawkstar privately." He glanced at his sister, Wolfheart and the grey tabby apprentice. He was unfamiliar with this RainClan apprentice and the other tom. The she-cat, however, had been introduced at the Gathering. It had puzzled him why two new apprentices hadn't been present at the Gathering but from the look of the grey tabby's face, he could understand why. Heronpaw was sulking and glaring at the back of Owlfoot's head. Apparently he had wanted to relay the message. An awkward silence fell over the group as they waited. Honeyfrost coughed lightly. "Don't you have something you ought to tell me?" she meowed. The deputy grimaced and tried to respectful. "I'm sorry that a badger tried to eat you?" She shuddered and glared at him. "Far from it, I was thinking more along the line of kits," she meowed, airly. She was purposely being vague as to give him a chance to figure it out. Only, this just infuriated Coppertail. He glanced at the other BeachClan warriors, feeling embarassed. The RainClan apprentices was snickering. What in StarClan is she talking about? Is this another attempt to make me jealous?! I don't have kits only Owlspot and Flaxeyes- Oh. "And it dawns on him," Honeyfrost laughed. "Flaxeyes has two daughters and a son. Rabbitkit, Lilykit and Foxkit," he muttered. His sister purred and leaned against Owlfoot. "That's wonderful," she purred. "And Redwind?" "Ah...there's Dewkit, Leopardkit and Waterkit. They're all girls. And they have a son, Mudkit." Honeyfrost's expression could only be described as ecstatic which only made Coppertail feel guilty for not telling her of their birth earlier. But he belonged in BeachClan, he was the deputy, and he couldn't keep his connections with his siblings when they were in other Clans.
The BeachClan deputy was a disapointment to Heronpaw. He had thought that a tom in such a place of power would be effecient and stern and not distracted and pathetic as Coppertail came across. He was aware of his connection with Honeyfrost (Maplepaw was good for something) but they belonged in different Clans and therefore they should not be sustaining their relationship. This personal banter between two enemy cats was unacceptable. His thought was to relay the weaknesses in BeachClan's leadership to Burntstar but he remembered that Coppertail was in fact, Burntstar's son. Sympathy for the exiled tom flooded the apprentice. How could his children be so...so...soft?. But as usual, he dimissed these emotions and memorised the names of the kits. He could probably gain more favour with Burntstar by letting him know of his grandkits.
{{Poor Coppertail xD}}

Goldenpaw flinched as she heard her father's voice. "Um. Owlspot needs you. Well, Coppertail needs you." Goldenpaw hoped he wasn't going to ask any more questions. She wasn't good with questions. If anything, Lightningpaw would answer.... I hope. Goldenpaw pointed her nose in the direction they came from. "Coppertail needs to talk to you. I don't know if in private or what."

Owlfoot blinked before tilting his head at Coppertail. "I'm not so sure...we will have to wait for Hawkstar to decide if the issue needs to remain private, hmm?" he mewed, smiling widely. He turned to smile at Honeyfrost as she pressed against him. "That is very wonderful! I hope they all grow to be strong cats!" He took this moment to glance back at Heronpaw, slightly spsupicious of his quietness. Oh well. At least he being respectful in front of another clan's deputy and not being his usual pompous, infuriating self. He began to purr at Honefrost's ecstatic nature, happy to see his mate so happy.

Hawkstar frowns, brows furrowing as he listened to the relayed message. "Thank you two, for coming to tell me. Now let's go see what Beachclan could possibly want." Goldenpaw started off slowly through the entrance. Once she gt thicker into the forest, she moved her legs to a full sprint. She galloped through the forest as if she was the fastest apprentice out of all four of the clans. But she had to admit she was a bit fast. She smelled the mixture of Rainclan and Beachclan. We're close. "Hawkstar, they're over here." She yelled.

As the three approached the two patrols, Hawkstar took the lead. In turn, he dipped his head to Owlfoot and Coppertail, the Beachclan deputy. "Sorry to keep you waiting, I came as soon as I heard word." He smiled politely to the rest of the Beachclan group, holding himself with pride and dignity. "It is good to see that you are well Coppertail, I trust Icestar is the same?" He asked kindly, then raised a brow. "And would you mind telling me the meaning for this encounter?"

Honeyfrost stepped aside, allowing room for her leader to approach the BeachClan deputy. Heronpaw padded back, glaring at his sister as he passed. He certaintly wasn't happy being left behind while she fetched their father. Although, the meeting had given him some insight into BeachClan's leadership.
Coppertail smiled and dipped his head in response. As usual, Hawkstar was polite and courteous. "We did have to wait long," he reassured the other tom. "Icestar is well and I hope that you are too." He looked to Thunderpaw and Stormcloud, double checking that they had not crossed too far over the border and were returning Hawkstar's hospitality. "We are here on Icestar's behalf to share with you a message and gain access to No Cat's Land. We plan to discuss the contents of the message further with Jaystar." He paused, letting this sink in. Hopefully Hawkstar would not refuse their next request. "It would need to be in private."

Owlfoot smiled at Hawkstar, moving to the side to allow the leader to approach Coppertail. He smiled lightly before turning his head slightly, surveying Heronpaw with an unusual amount of coldness. My. He didn't seem very happy today at all. He soon turned his attention to his own apprentice, smile widening as she padded back to the small patrol, the cold seeping from his eyes, allowing warmth to rest there instead.
