((We haven't had one of these since September. :'D We should send warnings about the war of the territories and a bit more about the fanclub...right?))
Quietshadow padded into the glade surrounding the Moonpool. His apprentice, Larchpaw, was not far behind. His sleek black pelt glowed faintly in the dim moonlight; it reflected off of his yellow iris as well. He was quiet and pensive as usual as he wondered what would await him when he spoke with StarClan again. The air was cold--as it was to be expected in leaf-bare--and the ground had a dusting of white snow. He could see his breath in front of him as he exhaled. The medicine cat watched the steam for a moment before padding across the clearing in a dignified manner. Quietshadow sat down, tucked his tail around his paws, and sighed softly. He was eager to catch up with the other medicine cats, especially after the drama that had unfolded at the gathering.

((Sounds good to me )) Moonstream padded slowly into the cavern, the moon making her dappled pelt pale white. The snow was like spiderwebs on the stone, thin and beautiful. Her breath blew out in a soft mist, and the frosty air had her fur on end. Quietshadow was already present and she smiled to him, padding over to the silver water. The silver she-cat sat down, turning to look at the black tom. "Hello, Quietshadow," she said softly, not wanting to break the peaceful atmosphere. "How are you?"

(( Yes, we should. That's a great idea. ))
Water droplets clung to the hairs of her thick pelt, glittering when the faint light caught it. Frost crunched under her paws and Rainlight flexed her claws in an attempt to warm them. This leaf-bare had been harder than normal, with more snowfall than the season before. Of course it melted quickly with the sunshine but the frost had killed many of the herbs andmade it harder for the prey to find food. Every squirrel, mouse or bird Rainlight dragged from the fresh-kill pile was scrawny enough that she wanted to go back for more. She sighed sadly, her warm breath vapourising in the air. She meowed warmly as she recgonised both Moonstream's and Quietshadow's figures,"Greetings!"

Moonstream turned to the sound of oncoming paws. The pawsteps down the dimpled stone that glittered silver in the moonlight. Rainlight padded down into the cavern, and Moonstream smiled at her in greeting. "Hello, Rainlight. How's FrostClan?" she asked, attempting to let her fur lie flat. The chill in the air made her shiver in response, and her fur fluffed up again. Gritting her teeth and tensing her muscles, she forced the silver and black dappled fur to sink back to its original place.

Swiftwind padded near the Moonpool, with Sootpaw trailing behind her. After the death of Dawnwhisker, this was Swiftwind's first medicine cat gathering. Maybe she'd get to finally talk to StarClan, be able to read the signs, have a feeling of power at last. These days, Swiftwind felt as innocent as a little kit, unable to do anything but sit there, and panic.
Swiftwind stared down at the silvery water in the pool, thinking she was first to arrive. She closed her eyes for a moment, and then realized that she was actually last. I'm standing around there like some idiot... The she-cat stumbled over to the Moonpool, feeling disjointed and a bit defeated.
[OOC: Mintfur can visit any of the cats, if you want. She died recently, but hasn't ever spoken with the medicine cats x3]

"Hello, Moonstream, Rainlight, Swiftwind," Quietshadow meowed in his deep voice. "How are you all faring? BeachClan is well. We currently have two queens and their kits here, although neither of them are from my clan. Icestar has always loved kits." He looked around for a moment before smiling wryly. "Have your apprentices all fallen behind as well?" He knew that Moonstream didn't have an apprentice and that Blackleaf was staying with BeachClan for the time being, but Larchpaw and Sootpaw had not arrived.

"Bittery cold," Rainlight replied to Moonstream, her own fur rising to keep her warm. She flicked her tail, sending water droplets flying. She gave each of them an apologetic smile and nodded in awknowledgment to each of then. RainClan's new medicine cat seemed tense and nervous but nice enough. Swiftwind had to be at least the third cat to full the position since Silverstream's sudden departure. "Welcome," she purred before turning back to Quietshadow. "How are Flaxeyes' kits?" she asked, smiling happily. "Is Blackleaf doing a good job or does he need some re-training?"

"Very well," purred Quietshadow. "He was comforting her and brought her the right herbs. There are three kits who I believe are called Rabbitkit, Foxkit, and Lilykit. They're all healthy and so is she. You can be sure that she will remain in good care even after Blackleaf returns to FrostClan--I think he was saying something about having to leave soon. Have you seen any greencough?"

Sootpaw skidded into the clearing behind Swiftwind, panting in excitement. "Hillo, everyone! I'm here!" After the death of Dawnwhisker, it was difficult for her to avoid feeling dejected; however, she remained confident by convincing herself that her former mentor would always be with her in StarClan. Maybe I'll see her tonight! She wondered how Swiftwind was faring; after all, the new medicine cat had not yet been to one of these meetings. She shuddered from the cold as she approached the pool, sliding in next to her new mentor. "There's nothing quite like this!" she purred quietly to the grey-blue she-cat. "StarClan are amazing!" She turned back to the others, hoping to pick up on their conversation.

Moonstream nodded, understanding. "Yes, leafbare is extremely cold this year. AquaClan is faring...alright. As alright as they can be." Then she quieted, letting the other medicine cats chat about their apprentices. Feeling a little out of place, she padded farther away, just a little, but enough to give them their privacy and her her own privacy. She stared into silver pool, watching as her reflection rippled in a slight breeze. She yawned. The silver medicine cat had not gotten much sleep recently, but she was all right with that. And she waited for the moon to be directly overhead so they could begin.

Rainlight purred happily. "Whitestar will be pleased to here it. We've all been missing her, you see." She shook her broad head in amusement and smiled gratefully at Quietshadow. It meant alot to FrostClan to hear that Flaxeyes was healthy with three kits. Once Blackleaf was back everything could return to it's normal routine. Rainlight wrinkled her nose in distaste as the black tom spoke of the dreaded greencough. "Not as yet," she meowed," But prey is very scarce and the snowfall has been larger. It won't be long until somebody falls ill." She tilted her head and glanced at Moonstream. "Is AquaClan truly alright?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Moonstream looked toward Rainlight. "We're doing as well as we can with the situation," she replied, smiling. She didn't know what else to say, so she smiled again, looking back into the pool. She should've known the fire was coming. She was the medicine cat. She should've been able to warn her Clan of the danger. Maybe then Faintspot wouldn't have died. She had failed as a medicine cat. Sighing, she closed her eye to hold back the guilt.

Rainlight nodded, still not convinced that Moonstream and AquaClan was doing well. Ever since the fire and Faintspot's death, the silver she-cat had been looking less and less sure of herself. "We're always here to help you Moonstream," Rainlight meowed softly, looking to each of the cats around her. With a flick of her fluffy grey tail she gestured to the pool of water beside her. "And StarClan will always be with as well."

Moonstream smiled at Rainlight. "I know," she said, grateful that the medicine cat was trying to cheer her up. "So, when shall we start?" she asked, turning to look at the other cats present. She was anxious to see StarClan - she needed to know what to do now more than ever. But she didn't want to rush the others.

"Hm - well, starting now might work," Sootpaw meowed suddenly. Though she tried to sound casual, her ears twitched in anticipation. She was concerned for AquaClan after the fire, of course, and glad to hear that they were doing well - but she was about to meet StarClan! Realizing that her excitement might have overcome her politeness, she suddenly looked at her paws. "But that's just an idea, I mean."

"I'm ready," Quietshadow replied calmly. "We can start whenever we want. StarClan will wait, but I would prefer not to." A faint smile graced his lips. The moonlight reflected off of his black fur, giving it a silvery sheen. The medicine cat was normally well-groomed and tonight was no exception. He was eagerly awaiting some news from StarClan. It wasn't that he knew something was going to happen, it was just that same feeling of excitement that he always felt at the meetings.

"Agreed," Rainlight meowed nodding. She was eagerly awaiting news from StarClan about how the Clan would fare through winter and whether her confusing dreams had any meaning. If her ancestors could not shed any light on the matter she would discuss it with the other medicine cats. Rainlight had a feeling that there would be dreams to share.

Moonstream smiled, relieved. This wouldn't take too long. She realized Swiftwind had been silent for most of the conversation, and she looked at the medicine cat, confused. Shaking it off, she turned back to the others, and said, "Then shall we begin?" She was eager to meet with StarClan. Every second she was with them would be vital. She needed all the outside help she could get. And the silver she-cat wanted to get back to her Clan.

Solemnly, Quietshadow nodded to Moonstream and took a step forward. He lowered his head so that the tip of his muzzle was just touching the surface of the Moonpool and began to lap up the water. It was ice-cold, almost painfully so, but he drank nonetheless. Despite the water's frigid temperature, it had a slight warming effect. Perhaps that was what would lull the cat to sleep so they could share tongues with StarClan. Whatever caused the sleeping, it quickly took effect on the tom and he had soon fallen into a doze at the pool's edge.

Rainlight stepped forward and crouched beside the still pool. In the moonlight it looked like liquid silver and she smiled at her reflection. She stretched her neck forward and touched her nose to the cold water, a habit she had taken up. It thrilled her for the surface of the water so fragile, a delicate balance between life and death it seemed. If she fell through she would be swimming amongst the stars of her ancestors. Rainlight closed her grey eyes and lapped at the water. She sighed and pulled away, falling into a deep slumber. {Anybody have some FrostClan cats to talk to Rainlight? I can use Fogstar for AquaClan and perhaps Orchidtail's parents for RainClan. Unless somebody wanted to roleplay the past leader?}

Moonstream followed their lead and dipped her head, lapping at the crystal clear, silver moon water. It licked down her throat, as cold as frost. She shivered happily, and got comfortable in a dip in the stone. She felt the sleepiness of the Moonpool's water and she greeted it gratefully.

ooc: Daisy can be the bearer of bad news--again--for Rainlight, if you want. xD Of course, I can tell why you'd prefer a FrostClanner. Does anyone have a cat to talk to Quietshadow?

{That'll be fine Tiger. It can be a warning about the battle to come or her death or anything else you want :0}
A lean gray tom padded into Moonstream's dream, stars sparkling on his pelt. Around him the long grasses of FrostClan territory swayed in a gentle breeze. Fogstar gave the AquaClan medicine cat a small smile and sat down, his tail curling around his paws. "You're doing a fine job, the Clan is safe and I am proud of you all for getting so far," he meowed.

((Okay.))
A golden-brown tabby she-cat leapt off of a cloud. The stars in her pelt shone brightly, whitening the splash of unstriped snow on her chest. Daisy sat down in Rainlight's dream and smiled softly. "Hello again," she meowed. "I assume you've gotten used to me carrying some bad news for you. I sincerely apologize for the fact that I've got more." The queen sighed and wrapped her tail around her petite front paws, waiting for a reply from the medicine cat.

Rainlight had once again woken in the unfamiliar fields of what she assumed was the hills around FrostClan. Before her, sitting delicately and glowing against the dreary grey landscape, was the she-cat Daisy. "Is FrostClan doomed?" she asked angrily, pacing around in a circle, her tail swishing. "I don't mean to sound rude but in the last few seaons we've had many deaths of a sickness I can't seems to control. Two leaders, dead. Then there was the battle and Blackleaf's kits..." She trailed off with a resigned sigh and sat down heavily. There were too many things too worry about and this leaf-bare she had felt the chill in her bones. She was getting old and her job was not helping.

"FrostClan will face trials, very great trials, but they will not be doomed. Not unless they sit back and let the doom absorb them, of course," Daisy meowed, still softly mournful. "The greater will defeat the lesser and then fortunes shall reverse. Leaf-bare will soon be the least of their worries as the snow becomes scarlet. StarClan will be getting new members, some of whom you'd never expect." She sighed and paused, licking her lips as she thoughtfully digested what she had just spoken. "By the way, tell Whitestar to brush up on his diplomacy and to bring Blackleaf back to camp. However, it's imperative that Flaxeyes and her kits remain in BeachClan. They're safe there." Daisy licked her lips again and flicked her tail calmly.

At what she assumed was the okay, Sootpaw leaped toward the starry water, her eyes fixed upon the reflection of the glimmering pelts of her ancestors. StarClan was in the sky and in the water at the same time, reaching down to the pool so that the medicine cats could talk to them. It was marvelous, it really was. StarClan, here I come! As she lay down and bent her head to the water, it occurred to her that she probably should have asked Swiftwind first whether it was okay to drink from the pool with the other cats. She paused before her nose touched the surface; she could already feel how cold it was. But Sootpaw was to anxious to meet with her ancestors. She began to lap the water, and closed her eyes.

Moonstream gave a small smile for Fogstar's benefit. But she knew it was a lie. "Thanks," she whispered. She looked down at her paws, trying to piece together something, anything to ask him. She looked up her eyes intense when she realized what she needed to know. "What do I need to do now? AquaClan is on the brink of destruction and I can't do a thing about it! I need help! What do I do?"

Rainlight stared at Daisy in horror, absorbing the fall impact of her words. It was obvious the she-cat was warning her of an invasion of some sort with several deaths. But there was hope in her words, fortunes shall reverse. "I will tell Whitestar what you have said," she meowed quietly, dipping her head. "I trust you that you are right in telling me that Flaxeyes is safer in another Clan than with her clanmembers."
Fogstar flicked his tail and padded over to the silver she-cat, touching his nose to her shoulder in reassurance. "Stay in your new home, it is safe. The loner there is a believer of StarClan and can lead you to herbs or offer advice," he told her. His face became serious though and he took a step back. "Sanctuary will come, the loss of another. Seize it but be wary of an old allie and a new enemy. You owe too much, possibly your lives."

The tabby nodded. "Good, dear. For the kits, this is a life-or-death matter." Daisy coughed to clear her throat and continued on, this time with a much more serious tone. "The land will become colder and steeper and all will seem lost. Then, new allies will be made. Like I said, diplomacy. Remember that all strangers cannot be trusted and that the source of your problems is right under your feet." She wrapped her tail around her paws and sat in silence like the patient, gentle queen that she was.
