The RainClan warrior Applesong crawled out from behind a bush and looked at all the corn growing before her. Oh great, she thought. Have I trespassed on BeachClan's territory? Applesong had observed BeachClan's leader Icestar at the last gathering and didn't want any run-ins with her. Before she could worry too much about borders, she scented smoke in the air and saw Jaystar and the rest of his Clan going onto BeachClan territory with their camp in flames across the river. I've gotta go help them! she thought in horror. Even though she was trespassing on another Clan's territory, Applesong knew she had to help.
