Quietshadow followed the familiar path from BeachClan territory to the Moonpool. With newleaf well underway, the dark green grass was well up to his knees and hocks. It felt good.
The most recent meetings had been clouded by the ominous feelings of a future battle between BurntClan and DustClan. This would (hopefully) not be one of them. Ideally, none of the medicine cats would be needed at his or her respective Clan.
Quietshadow sat at the edge of the Moonpool and decided to wait for at least one of the other to show up before drinking that water.

ooc| Hey, could you make Starclan send a sign about Larchkit? So at least some cat knows he's going to be the next medicine cat of Beachclan. I'd appreciate it! lol

Morningstar saw the quiet Beachclan medicine cat. "Well done," she purred. She paused. She walked down the cloud path and stayed silent. She showed the medicine cat a picture. It showed a similar kit. It showed the new kit of Tigerstripes. "Larchkit is your new apprentice!" she purred quietly into the Beachclan cat's ear. "Stay quiet, but say and teach the things you know best to this cat!" she meowed. "Starclan shall honer him, and you too," she purred, saying nothing else.

Quietshadow blinked. "Morningstar, are you feeling all right? It's a little bit...obvious...for StarClan to come and just tell me. You'd think that a larch tree would fall on my den or something--I'm not complaining, though," he added nervously. It would not be good for a tree to fall on the roof of his den. He stretched out in front of the Moonpool, still awaiting the arrival of the other medicine cats before he would take a drink of the water.

Rainlight padded happily down to the Moonpool. The battle was over and soo FrostClan would have a new leader. Quietshadow was already sitting at the water's edge. She flicked her tail for Blackpaw to follow and took her place beside Quietshadow. "Greetings," she meowed cheerfully," How is the prey running?"

"Good, thank you," he meowed. "There are a few more fish in the lagoon now and it's warming up a bit more. Tigerstripe had her kits, and AquaClan has been staying with us. Other than that, not much. How are things in FrostClan?" Quietshadow yawned. "Sorry, I'm a bit tired from all the excitement."

"Wonderful," Rainlight meowed," The rabbits have been breeding so there's plenty to eat. The stream is clean and flowing. Amberstar died sadly but Whitefire will be an excellent leader. he's yet to make his trip to Moonpool. After that I'm going to AquaClan to help them with their medicine cat issues." She licked her ruffled chest fur. "It's good to hear that the clans have had some kits," Rainlight commented," Give my congratulations to Tigerstripe."

He nodded. "I'll tell her. AquaClan? You've got your work cut out for you, Rainlight. Jaystar has this really awful wound in his side. I had to cut his skin open to stop the bleeding. He only has two lives left.
"Hopefully one of the kits will take interest in being my apprentice. There are five of them, so it shouldn't be a problem." He looked over his back for Blackpaw and Sleetpelt.

Rainlight grimaced. "I think I'll just apply poultices and have him stay still. I don't want to strain anything." She looked over her shoulder to see if Blackpaw had caught up.
"Apprentices are hard. It's a struggle to get Blackpaw to listen sometimes. He still has alot to learn. Hopefully one of Tigerstripe's five kits will be willing. I can't believe it. Five kits?"
She shook her head in disbelief.

Quietshadow nodded. "Yep. Swallowkit, Larchkit, Inkkit, Quailkit, and Thunderkit. One is almost identical to her, one is golden-brown but without stripes, two are gray, and one is black and white. I can't remember which is which." He shook his head, remembering Morningstar's words.
"Actually, Morningstar came and told me something about that. Before you arrived she came and said that Larchkit was going to be my apprentice. What really concerns me, though, is that we might not have enough warriors to mentor them."

Blackpaw finally caught up, "jeeze, you don't have to like run like a lion because you want to beat Quietshadow or something," he growled. He looked at Quietshadow.
"Greetings, I heard Tigerstripe has had her kits, tell her I sent a congrats." he purred. "Hey, not to be nosy, but you guys don't have enough warriors to train all of them, maybe Starclan shall send something about a new apprentice of yours." he meowed. He looked at Rainlight. "Yes, and I know how to behave here, you don't have to go over rules like I'm a kit," he hissed, taking a lap of water. He started to swim, but suddenly he feel asleep.

"They did," he meowed, smiling at the sleeping Blackpaw. "Hopefully Sleetpelt will show up." Quietshadow glanced over his shoulder for signs of the RainClan medicine cat. "Actually, they should all have a mentor. Right now we have three warriors, me, and at least one of the apprentices should be a warrior by then."

Blackpaw stayed floating in the water. Morningstar showed him another picture of a black she-cat, a black and white tom, and Skypaw, and himself. He gasped. He saw the same picture at the last meeting. Then suddenly he saw a picture of the she-cat and his sister standing on the high rock in Beachclan. "I wonder," he whispered. He shook his head. He woke up. He noticed that no cat had gone to sleep yet. "Starclan has spoken." he meowed to Rainlight.

Quietshadow crouched down and lapped up a bit of the water. He took a step back as to not fall into the Moonpool, rested his head on his paws, and fell asleep. Before he saw anything from Morningstar, he had a fleeting vision of a black she-cat and a black tom. The she-cat's pelt was slowly aging to gray; she also only had half a tail. The tom had splashes of white on his chin, chest, and belly. The former of the two was extremely familiar...but his head was clouded and he couldn't put his paw on it...

Morningstar padded up to all the cats, well, Quietshadow, he was the only one asleep. "We must wait till all cats are here," she whispered, signaling the Starclan cats to come. "Starclan, let us gather," she meowed.
Blackpaw fell back asleep, upside down, his back in the dust. His tail laid flat, looked like a dead cat. Then Blackpaw saw Morningstar, Quietshadow, and other Starclan cats.

Stoneclaw padded up to the medicine cats as well as Silentmask and Deadwhisker. They were all new to Starclan, and Silentmask was still shocked. "Morningstar" they nodded a hello. "Medicine cats"

Morningstar nodded. "You remeber them," she meowed to the medicine cats.
Blackpaw was in shock, "you made it safely." he purred to Deadwhisker and Silentmask, touching noses with them. He stood high, showing them he was a good medicine cat.

The stumpy-tailed she-cat approached Quietshadow first. Her pelt was entwined with stars, a feature that the living cat had been lacking. Her scent was comforting to him as she rested her nose on his forehead.
"I've missed you, Quietshadow."
Slowly his eyes widened and he smiled. "Shorttail?"
Shorttail nodded. "I can't believe I've never met you at any of these meetings. You're doing very well," she meowed. Her voice stiffened with the next sentence. "And I suppose you'd like to meet your father."
As Quietshadow nodded, the tom stepped over next to Shorttail. "I haven't introduced myself. I'm Coalfur." He dipped his head respectfully. "Have you seen a she-cat by the name of Nightshade? She's your h--"
Quietshadow interrupted him. "I know that she is my half-sister." He explained about meeting at the battle. Coalfur chuckled while Shorttail shot him an icy look. "All because he had to go leave me." Quietshadow thought he saw her unsheathe her claws, but he wasn't sure.

Deadwhisker purred and touched noses with the apprentice, as well as Silentmask. "We miss Beachclan, but this is our home now" Silentmask muttered. "I still haven't got used to it" He meowed more quietly. Deadwhisker layed his tail on his friend's neck. "Neither have I, but we will" He assured.

Rainlight crouched down beside the water's edge. Sleepelt had yet to arrive, bu Quietshadow and Blackpaw had already slipped into the dream filled sleep. Sighing, Rainlight stared at the moon's reflection in the water before dropping her head to drink. The felt the cold water run down her throat and she felt numb as it spread throughout her body. She closed her eyes and let sleep overcome her.

Sleetpelt padded towards the Moonpool, following the scent of her predecessor. It was her first time attending a medicine cat meeting, and she was a little worried.
She reached the Moonpool, and was at first a little worried when she saw the other cats lying down. She then remembered what she had been told about these meetings.
She approached the water cautiously, and glanced over her shoulder before lowering her head and drinking.
She lay down, and a few moments later, sleep took her.

Morningstar approached Rainlight and Sleetpelt. She touched noses with them. She leaded them to the place that the others were at. "Welcome," she began. "Battle has asured you that they will be back." she purred calmly. "But not quite." she meowed. "Rouges still have major injuries because of the battle. And you know that Starclan's warrior code says help anyone in need." she meowed, her head getting higher. "Icestar, Hawkstar, Jaystar, and Whitefire know this very well," she meowed. She turned to Rainlight. "Whitefire shall be comig soon correct?" she asked firmly.
Blackpaw stepped up. "Whitefire knows it farely well! And I know that Frostclan is going to help them, without any other cats touching them!" he hissed. Morningstar gave him and icey look. Blackpaw laid his ears flat and backed away.
"Sleetpelt. We need you to lead your clan, your clan is getting weak. Help lead." she purred, brushing her long tail on her shoulder. "Rainlight. You too!" she meowed. "Quietshadow, follow orders, speak up, and help lead!" she hissed quietly. "Any last words Starclan?" She meowed, turning her head back.

"But Morningstar- " Deadwhisker protested "Their rogues! They took some- most of Jaystar's lives! Why do they deserve help?" He growled. Still being a younger warrior, he didn't understand clearly why they had to help them.

"Just because they're rogues doesn't mean they don't deserve help. They are cats just like us. They just live differently. Plus, some of the rogues are family. Cactus, Burntstar and Suntail are family for Flaxeyes, Owlspot, Coppertail and Honeyfrost. Deadsoul is Redwind's brother. Plus,-" paused as she glanced at Quietshadow-" I overhead a black she-cat saying that she was related to Quietshadow."
A grey cat padded into the clearing. He had long legs and a long tail to match. His head was slightly triangular in shape and he had long white whiskers. Even in StarClan he looked old.
"Amberstar is safe here," he told Rainlight," Come and we will talk." He flicked his tail as he led her away. Rainlight rose to her paws and padded after him. She quickly recognised where they were, outside FrostClan. "Where are you taking me? Who are you?" she asked, starting to feel unsure.
"Don't panic young one," he purred, licking the grey she-cat's head. "My name is Fogstar and I once led AquaClan. I most show you something." He walked over to the patch of soil where they buried Oceanstar and Amberstar.
"You've lost two leaders," he commented.
"It's because I'm not meant to be a medicine cat," Rainlight meowed. Fogstar shook his head.
"Oceanstar was reckless. She didn't want good for the forest. She wanted power."
"Oh."
"A great leader will come Rainlight. He is growing into a fine cat. We had to wait awhile but we are sure he can lead FrostClan now."
Rainlight beamed and nodded. "I'm so pleased," she purred," I know he will do well."

Silentmask and Deadwhisker both flinched when they heard their killer's name. "D-Don't ever say that name again" Silentmask stammered. Deadwhisker nodded and his eyes narrowed.

Morningstar turned to the formal Beachclan cats. "Never say that! They live different! They have no one out there to help, they have kittypets and Twolegs to deal with!" she hissed. They have to steal prey and other things to survive, and no cat notices till they come here, I told my warriors to kill any rouge who stole any prey!" she spat. "And now I learned of how they live," she moewed softly. "And you should too," she whispered, nodding her head.

Deadwhisker narrowed his eyes at the Starclan leader, and remembered: His brother and sister had been exiled from Beachclan many moons ago, and asumed to join the rogue life. He knew Morningstar knew that all ready, and he waited for his siblings to come back time after time, but nothing happened. He looked up and his eyes were full of sorrow, begging to see his kin again. "Morningstar I-" He shook his head.

Morningstar looked at Deadwhisker with an angry eye. She turned back to the medicine cats, then back at Starclan members. "Anyone else have to say something? Silentmask? Stone?" She meowed, looking at the cats.

Deadwhisker shook his head and wondered something. He padded up to Morningstar and meowed in her ear, "Do you know if m-my brother and sister are here?" Deadwhisker's eyes shined with hope.

Quietshadow nodded. "I will do my best. And Nightshade is my half-sister." His voice was calm and quiet...typical of the medicine cat.
Stone shook his head. "All I ask is that you keep and eye out for AquaClan. And if anyone sees Rockfang, tell her I said hi." He smiled. "If that's against the warrior code, I don't care. I was never a warrior anyway."
