Ceremonies and Rituals

All deputies must be appointed before moon high.
Medicine cat apprentices are given their ceremony at the moonpool and recieve their warrior name when their mentor feels they deserve it.
Every new warrior must sit their vigil at night in silence. Only when the sunrises can they speak.
The vigil of the dead takes place usually during the night and the cat is buried at sun rise by the elders.

Ceremony for appointing a Deputy

When the deputy has become leader

The time has come to appoint a new deputy. I say these words before StarClan that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice.
NAME HERE will be the new deputy of CLAN HERE

When the deputy has died

I say these words before the body of OLD DEPUTY HERE, that his/her spirit may hear and approve my choice. NAME HERE will be the new deputy of CLAN HERE.

Warrior ceremony *Silent vigil
Leader: I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/she has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him/her to you as a warrior in his/her turn. APPRENTICE NAME HERE, do you promise to follow the warrior code and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Leader: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. APPRENTICE NAME HERE, from this day forth you will be known as APPRENTICE'S WARRIOR NAME. StarClan honors your POSITIVE TRAIT 1 and POSITIVE TRAIT 2, and we welcome you as a full warrior of the Clan.

Apprentice ceremony
I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He/she would like to become a warrior of CLAN NAME HERE, but must first become an apprentice. KIT NAME HERE, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as KIT'S APPRENTICE NAME. WARRIOR TO MENTOR will mentor you.

Dying apprentice ceremony (Apprentice goes to StarClan as a warrior...example Brightpaw->Lostface)
I ask my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/she has learned the warrior code and has given up his/her life in the service of his/her Clan. Let StarClan receive him/her as a warrior. He/she will be known as WARRIOR NAME.

Name change ceremony *Silent vigil
Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment she/he will be known as NEW NAME HERE.

Elder ceremony
Leader: NAME OF CAT TO RETIRE, you say that the time has come for you to join the elders. Are you sure this is what you want?
Cat to retire: I am.
Leader: Then you will rely on apprentices and younger warriors to bring you fresh-kill, and you are no longer able to go on patrol.

Medicine cat apprentice ceremony *at Moonpool
Medicine cat: NAME OF CAT TO BE APPRENTICE, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?
Med. cat app.: It is.
Medicine cat: Then come forward. *apprentice moves forward* Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. S/he has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant him/her your wisdom and insight so the s/he may understand your ways and heal his/her Clan in your will. *to apprentice* Come here and drink the water of the Moonpool.
