Morningstar looked over a cloud. "This is the time to come," he meowed. "Starclan warriors, we need to protect our families! Even though our paws go right threw their bodies, but we can bring them the spirit." she meowed. "Now lets go," she whispered. Then jumped off the cloud and onto the Great Rock and waved her tail back and foruth.

Stoneclaw sighed. It was time. "Morningstar, what should I do? I-I don't want to see my friends battle" He shook his head confused "Burntstar has been my friend ever since I was exiled" He meowed "As much as I hate Jaystar, I feel like I should watch over them instead" Stoneclaw paused "What should I do?" He asked more quietly again.

Morningstar stared at the new Starclan member. "Starclan members don't hate other cats! Starclan are peaceful!" she snarled. "Now you pick which cat you shall guide," she purred. IT was strange of the way she went to angry to happy but she guessed it was the way of Starclan. "Silverpelt has sent us to help us," she meowed firmly.

Daisy gracefully leapt down from a cloud and landed by Morningstar and Stoneclaw. "I'm guiding Rockfang," she purred. "Not like she would need it, of course. My daughter is quite the fighter." She glanced down at Fourtrees. "Just a squirrel...no cats yet."

Morningstar nodded. "I'm taking Beachclan's leader," she meowed. "Not like she needs it either but of what is going to be going on," She meowed. "Now, if a leader losses a life, they drift off to a dream and see all of us and see wind taking energy out of them and a life is taken away, they wake up once they gain strength." she confirmed. "Trust me, I've seen it myself about nine times," she meowed.

Daisy smiled wryly. "About nine times?" she joked. "How can you die about nine times? Wouldn't it be the whole nine?" She scratched her ear with her hind foot and continued. "It must be pretty amazing to die and come back to life like that. Oh, just out of curiousity, Morningstar, what was your warrior name?"

"Morningsong." she purred. "Not a big one but I just liked to be called that," she meowed. "Yes, I died nine time, Starclan, when you become a leader, you gain the powers of nine lives." she meowed. She nodded and sniffed the air.

"That's a nice name," Daisy mewed. "I was a kittypet--though I was more like a loner. My twolegs didn't really do anything for me...I just lived at their house. The water bowl filled up automatically and they occasionally remembered to leave me something to eat. So mostly I caught my own food or went inside and stole scraps."

Stoneclaw thought a few seconds. "I'll choose Amberstar" He finally decided to stick with Starclan. Now, at that moment, he finally felt like a true Starclan cat, and his pelt began to glow, along with his eyes.

Hayfur padded beside to stand beside the waiting StarClan cats. "I shall guide my sons," she murmured," May their hearts be true." Sunpaw's eyes were wide with excitement. "I shall watch my siblings. Tussockpaw and Maplepaw will need all the strength I can give them!" Robinfur and Lilywing were trembling slightly. A battle had claimed their lives and even though their daughter would not at this Gathering they still worried for their birth clan. A slender black she-cat and a grey and white tabby tom padded through StarClan skies. They were not StarClan cats but their pelts bore ever-changing stars. They bought more cats with them. They were the ancestors of the rogues and kittypets going into battle.
Maplepaw and Tussockpaw trembled slightly as they walked. It was believed that tonight was the night that BurntClan would attack. The four clans would join as DustClan and fight. Desertflower was distressed that her two remaining kits were possibly going to be involved in a battle. A battle involving her sister and father. Despite this the two apprentices were still present. Honeyfrost padded behind them, her blue eyes darted around the clearing. She was sure that everyone could hear the thump of her heart in her chest. Would she be forced to fight against her kin? She shivered and closed her eyes. Will they stay pure to their hearts or to your own? We only have what we've been shown. The prophecy suddenly meant something now. From FrostClan came Rainlight and Flaxeyes. Rainlight's gaze was focused on the full moon above. Would the truce be broken? Flaxeyes gaze wandered from Skypaw and Blackpaw. Had she taught Skypaw enough skills to save her life? Was Blackpaw and Rainlight really sure that her father was leading a band of rogues to destroy the clans? She gulped anxiousily. Rainlight rattled off medicine cat rememdies to Blackpaw. She had brought some herbs with her and hidden them in a hollow. Hopefully, hopefully, she wouldn't need them. From BeachClan came Coppertail. In the darkness he resembled the shape of Burntstar. His broad shoulders and stocky legs. His amber eyes flashed as the moonlight caught them. He would defend this clan if it cost him his life. Owlspot watched the sky. "StarClan forgive me," he mouthed," For whatever I may do. I do it for respect. For honour. My family are the only friends I have. I do it for my father, for showing me this world is hard and cruel. I do it fo my mother, for giving me those moments of pure happiness. I do it to try and fix the wrongs...but I feel now that I'm just committing more. Forgive me StarClan." His head drooped and his eyes narrowed in pure despair. Two other cats joined the clans. Smoketalon and Faunus. Smoketalon was there to help his clan and to find his brother. Faunus was there to defend RainClan and his friends. Secretly he was there to record the outcome. If a battle resulted it would be repeated for many moons. He would be the one with the correct story, unaltered through time.

Badger eyed the glowing moon, his eyes glowing an eerie green in the light. He fidgeted, his tail sliding across the ground as he prepared himself for the slaughter ahead. It was too bad that this nice night will soon be filled with th eyowls of injured cats and thick with the stench of blood. Who was he kidding. It would still be beautiful, if not a bit morbid. His ears perked, his body lowering itself as the sound of many pawsteps filled his ears. He lowered his gaze, staring out from the large bush in which he was hidden. The many mixed scents filled his mouth, giving him an almost pleasurable shiver as he tasted that scent. Clan cats. Heading for the ambush position. Being lookout was beginning to pay off after all.

The rogues had covered their scents by rolling in mud and decaying leaves. They smelt like the forest. Burntstar crouched down, hidden from view. Beside him crouched his ever faithful mate Suntail. Her whiskers twitched as scented the clan cats. She had asked, and Cactus had agreed, that their family would not be harmed as long it was advoidable. Cactus sat not far from were Badger watched. The plan was, and still is, that they would let the clan cats stew for a while. As soon as their guard was down they would pounce. Badger would alert Cactus to this moment and he would signal Burntstar. Suntail, Spider and Nightshade would come up behind the clan cats and herd them towards the great rock. Dream, Bones and Rocky would come in from the sides. Burntstar, Badger, Owlspot, Deadsoul, any AquaClan warriors and himself would deal with the leaders, their deputies and medicine cats. The clan cats would be trapped. Cactus smiled happily. Revenge was sweet.

Badger blinked, eyeing the clan cats. The signal would be a simple wave of his tail, and then Badger would pounce. A simple signal, one that was effective and swift. It was a good thing Cactus had chosen a place where he could easily see Badger's mud-caked tail. If he didn't, the signal would be useless.

Whitefire joyfully bounded after Rainlight and Blackpaw. FrostClan knew nothing of the upcoming battle...they had been cut from the rest of the Clans for a while now; ever since Oceanstar had died. He took his spot under the Highrock and waited for Amberstar to come. Rockfang slowly slunk through the bushes surrounding Fourtrees. The rest of AquaClan was yet to arrive. She sat down next to Whitefire and gave a quick nod to the albino tom in greeting. She too was waiting for the Gathering to begin. Tigerstripe padded into the clearing and sat down. She looked down at her belly and had a sudden sense of alarm: How long have I been this fat? Quietshadow sat down behind the deputies and mewed a polite "Hello" to Rockfang and Whitefire. Nightshade followed the rogues, wearing a big smirk on her face. There was a sense of war in the air. Blood would be spilled. It felt great. Far from the other rogues, Stone snuck quietly into the area. He picked out his daughter from the mass of cats and flicked his tail, eager to talk. However, it had to wait. He did not know about the battle or anything else, as a matter of fact.

Owlfoot sat alone, his eyes searching wildly. He couldn't place it, but soemthing was off. Something bad was going to happen. His lips twitched, eyes widening as a terrible thought flashed through his head. They were all going to die. That was it, wasn't it? That was why it felt so wrong, out of place. Death was creeping up on them.

A large tom padded up beside Sunpaw, his dark grey fur shining brightly, but not as bright as his green eyes. "I shall watch for my apprentice, the leader of Rainclan. Yet, I trust that he can handle himself." he said, his voice mixed with pride and concern for Hawkstar and his clan.
Hawkstar's blue eyes looked around, judging and listening for signs of danger. He slowed his sprint, his lean muscles rippling under his black and white pelt. He stopped at the underbrush at the very edge of the clearing, seeing that Rainclan was the first to arrive. He flicked his tail, indicating for the clan cats behind him to follow. He padded warily into the clearing, his eyes scanning fourtrees for any signs of danger. Something didn't feel right. He glanced up at the moon, seeing it shining brightly, but dark clouds surrounding it. Was it a sign? "Relax Owlfoot, if the others sense your panic and fear, then they will become afraid and panic as well." he said quietly to his deputy, brushing against his shoulder. He sighed, padding to sit under Great Rock. "Starclan be with us...." he muttered, looking around as his clan came into the clearing. /"We are..."/ Stormheart's reassuring voice sounded quietly beside him, bringing some comfort to the young leader.

Rainlight stared at Whitefire. "Where is Amberstar?" she asked," I thought she was with you! A battle may take place and our mouse-brained leader isn't even here!" Maplepaw and Tussockpaw sat alert beside Owlfoot. Tussockpaw glanced up at the deputies face. Owlfoot seemed distressed. The golden tom frowned and turned to Maplepaw. "What do you think is going to happen?" he asked her. His voice was quiet. For some reason he felt to scared to talk loudly. Maplepaw swallowed. "I..it feels like something bad is going to happen. The atmosphere is too tense. Something makes me wary." Tussockpaw nodded and turned back to Owlfoot. "And what do you say?" he asked the tom.

"Something's wrong..." Owlfoot whispered, looking at Tussockpaw fearfully. "The air is too thick and dark clouds are circling the moon." The deputy then turned his attention to the moon, wondering if those foreboding clouds would close in and swallow up the shining moon.

Whitefire shrugged. "I--don't know. But I'm concerned...have you noticed that when our leaders miss Gatherings, they end up dead?" He flicked his tail nervously. Rockfang shifted her weight from one front paw to the other. "I don't know, but it does feel tense." She unsheathed her claws instinctively. Quietshadow stepped forward so he was right behind the deputies. "I don't know if any of you besides Coppertail know, but StarClan has foretold of a battle between Burnt and Dust. And it's soon, too. If it's tonight and anyone gets hurt, yowl for help and Sleetpelt, Rainlight, Blackpaw, or myself will come and help, regardless of your Clan." He nervously glanced skyward. A black tom with gray-streaked fur looked down from a cloud in StarClan. "I will watch over my son and daughter," he meowed. "Hopefully they won't meet each other in battle." His eyes flicked from Quietshadow to Nightshade. Two children on two sides...it didn't matter to him so long as they both came out of it alive.

Rainlight winced. "Maybe FrostClan isn't meant for a leader," she meowed. Her eyes quickly flashed to Whitefire. "But I'm sure you'll be a good leader. One which will attend all of our Gatherings." Coppertail flicked his tail back and forth. He glanced over to the other deputies, his amber eyes showing how worried he really was. "We should probably stop saying 'if there's a battle' and instead 'when the battle begins.' Let's face it, all of the signs we've been given tells us the battle is tonight." Rainlight nodded. "I saw cats fighting under the full moon. I saw Burntstar standing over a limp body. I'm not sure who though." Coppertail looked away, his teeth gritted. He flicked his tail again.

Whitefire smiled. "So Amberstar should go back to being Amberwood and maybe then she won't die?" he joked. "I don't remember when Oceanstar became leader. I don't even know if I had been born yet." "I hate battles," Quietshadow mewed with a hint of bitterness in his voice. "But if it's what must be done, then I guess it has to happen. I don't know how something like that could be the will of StarClan, though..." He looked back up to the sky. Rockfang winced. "Was the body a tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat with a scar along her side and three on her muzzle?"

Badger tensed, eyes narrowing. The clan cats would never lower their guard at this rate. They were too wary, too alert. The whole plan could go down at this rate.
Owlfoot sighed, his eyes softening. "Please, Robinclaw, watch over those who need it," he silently begged the cold night sky, hoping his dear brother would hear his plea.

Rainlight shook her head. "I couldn't see much. Everything seemed..foggy. Kind of grey with the moon sparkling off everything. I aslo saw all of the StarClan warriors and Dream's 'Guardians' fighting along side us. It was wierd." She followed Quietshadow's gaze up to the moon. Coppertail looked at Whitefire with curiousity. "What's wrong with Amberstar?" he asked," Is she coming or is she sick?"

"I think she's sick," Whitefire mewed. "I honestly don't know. She hasn't been coming out of her den lately, though." The deputy flicked his tail, concerned. Quietshadow blinked. "Oh, who is this Dream? I don't know her. Morningstar told me about the battle...I didn't stay very long at the meeting." Rockfang nodded. "Uh...okay..."

Rainlight attempted to explain Dream to Quietshadow. "I met her in her two-leg garden when I was gathering catnip for Amberstar. She spotted me and started chatting happily about herbs. She went inside and came back with catnip seeds. She told me I could try and grow some of my own. I told her about what I did and about StarClan. She was quite interested. She tells me about how she has dreams and visions of her brother's location. Then she turns up at moonpool after you left. Turns out she can talk to her ancestors, deceased kittypets or rogues. It was weird. The stars of their pelts kept changing." Rainlight shuddered.

"That is...strange," Quietshadow admitted. "I've never heard of a kittypet or a rogue who can see StarClan--or whatever--cats. Does catnip grow well in the FrostClan area, with the cold and all? There's hardly ever any in the herb garden, which is really quite a shame because it's one of the few things that treats greencough. Usually the only place to get it is rogue territory."

"I know! She is the oddest cat I've ever met and I've met some pretty weird ones in my lifetime. She seemed to have a decent understanding on dreams from StarClan. I wonder if that's why she's called Dream?" Rainlight licked her fluffy chest fur as she listened to Quietshadow's fur. "In leaf-bare and leaf-fall the frost usually kills it all off. I noticed the limited amount in the herb garden was dying so that's why I went to the two-leg place to fetch some. The seeds and roots I brought back should grow though."
Coppertail padded over to Icestar. "I haven't scented BurntClan or seen any cats," he told her," Maybe we were wrong and he's not coming...SatrClan can't be right all the time. Can they?" He flicked his tail again. As the minutes passed he was getting more and more stressed. The idea that his father and mother were going to attack was daunting. His stomach flipped and he cringed. He just wanted to get it over with.
Smoketalon looked over to Jaystar. His leader hadn't been keen to let him come but he was desperate to see his brother. Preferably alive.
Honeyfrost looked over to Owlfoot. "Owlfoot," she meowed," Has Hawkstar told you what we should do when the battle breaks out? I need to know if we're fighting to kill or just to disable. Plus, my mother and father are in this fight and I'm not sure if I can let them get hurt..." She paused and thought about this. "I think I'll just let them fight. I have to defend RainClan. DustClan I mean."
Owlspot looked around the clearing. Although BurntClan couldn't be seen he knew they were there. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He swallowed nervousily and peered at Jaystar. The leader was watching him carefully. Owlspot wiped his face of any emotion and attempted to stand tall and calmly. He couldn't let Jaystar sense his apprehension. If he did the whole plan could be ruined and his life placed on the line.

Owlfoot looked at Honeyfrost, forcing a smile. "If there is a battle, fight to disable. Only kill if its absolutely necessary. At least, that's how I was taught," he mewed, looking to the stars again, wondering if his old mentor was watching them.
Frostbreath watched the gathered catches with his cool eyes, his fur glowing slightly as the many cats of StarClan gathered around to watch over their descendants. He closed his eyes, silently hoping that now cat would be mortally wounded, clan cat and rogue alike. Each was a life and none should be considered worthless. He would watch over no one cat, choosing instead to guide those who needed assistance, even if they were rogue. Voicing that thought, however, would probably get him ridicule from the other cats around him.
